Yes I've seen a midwife twice already and I'm only 15 weeks. I think early pregnancy support is very important. I always feel so vulnerable in the first trimester. As soon as I saw my midwife I cried. She knew I needed her and didn't tell me I was 'only' this many weeks.

The peri check stuff has made me feel squeamish. I think the post-birth high has made me forget because I just remember the midwife taking a quick look. I also remember her washing down my legs with a warm flannel because I was too weak for a shower. I love my midwife! Maybe she checked again the next day??? I can't remember but she always makes me call her when I've done my first wee and first poo and same for the baby. She must get a lot of poo calls!!

Haha I had my first appointment with MW and I swear I was barely 4weeks, I to find the early support important especially due to previous miscarriages.

I've been really struggling of late with my PTSD/PND/depressionanxiety or whatever category it falls under so had appointment with MW on Thursday and she was great, love that I can know what I'm saying is actually being listened too. Anyway she has said I can see her weekly if I need to at the moment which is good as I usually don't struggle this much until much later in my pregnancies and at the moment I'm barely keeping my head above water...

Hugs Eenee..... I have only had one mc at 5.5 weeks. It wasnt as hard to cope with for me because I was pregnant first try and pregnant agian 6 weeks later..... but all the same, if it had been more traumatic i think I would have really struggled. I am glad you have a great mw there to support you. It is one of the wonderful aspects of a private mw. Hope the support helps and all the best in this pregnancy

    ^^ What she said

Had my 36 week appointment yesterday, baby is no longer oblique but is laying on his back so I still have to work on positioning. Had some BH's last night with a different type of sensation - like someone was squeezing the bottom of my uterus from the inside. Wasn't totally unpleasant, just different! At the moment I'm going between thinking I'm going to be fine during labour, and freaking out that I'm not going to be fine - I can switch from one to the other in seconds - like I'm bloody bi polar or something LOL

Home visit from the midwives on Wednesday - told them I'll have to clean up the house and they were like "uh no, no you don't"... bet they wouldn't say that if they saw my filthy floors at the moment LOL

Surely they checked and knew you were torn before doing stitches though.

Hoti- do you mean that your MW never checks if/how much you have torn? How do you decide on a treatment plan without checking? I'm not trying to sound facetious either. It's a genuine question

Bella- Blissful Herbs? I love that stuff!
They knew I'd torn when I delivered him, so the dr would have done a thorough check after I had the needles I would presume.

Eenee. So glad you have the m/w support you need. How are you managing otherwise?

Saw my chiro this morning and will be making it at least monthly from now on.

M/w had to reschedule last week as she was at a birth, so I'll see her next week instead.

Arimeh - he sounds like he's shifting to find the best position. Is it uncomfortable for you?

Arcadia lol at the poo calls. Pretty sure my m/w asked at one of the postnatal visits.

Totally lost my appetite and its a struggle to eat anything, I can get it in my mouth but swallowing is an issue. This happens when I'm struggling, doesn't help I have history of eating disorder...sorry about the all about me post. After last visit MW wants me to increase my intake especially protein and I'm not doing well. I seriously wish I didn't have to eat when pregnant!

Can you make Smoothies instead and add protein powder?

Jen - as uncomfy as it usually is I guess - this one moves all the time and some of the feelings are quite unpleasant. I'm really getting ready to have my body back to myself!

Had my birth preparation meeting on Friday. Had my birth pool delivered. It's all starting to get real. I'm 36w along so not long til term, mw is away this week. Hb was great, not bad considering ds decided he was going to help and grabbed the Doppler and put it on my tummy lol. He wasn't too far off where it was supposed to go either lol. So he and mw used the Doppler together and he went on to help do my bp too lol. He is very protective of me and my tummy at the moment.

Bub was cephalic and head was fully engaged. Not to mention I've been losing my show and been having Braxton hicks contractions. So body is starting to prepare for labour. Hopefully it means its going to be a straightforward hb labour.

Eenee - sorry to hear that things are rough right now. I really hope that you'll be able to process some of the anxiety soon, and start feeling better! Maybe it's time to get creative with food...? I don't know if anything could appeal to you right now, but if it does, eat some, even if it's not "breakfast food" or whatever. Smoothies could be a good idea too - they go down pretty quickly!

Arimeh - I know what you mean about the bipolar feeling about labour. Sometimes I feel totally fine with it, and am anticipating it, and other times it just about panics me. I had a good cry the other night about it, just feeling scared and overwhelmed and exhausted. DH was very helpful and sweet, thankfully. Glad to hear baby is making his way slowly into the optimal position! By the time you deliver, he'll be exactly where he should be, don't worry.

WilliamsMummy - Funny how it seems to go slowly, slowly, slowly, and then all of a sudden it's like BAM - your baby can come any time now! Glad you had a good visit, and it looks like things are all settling into place exactly right.

    Glorious - Congrats and welcome!

AFM - we finished the floors! DH decided that he just wanted to get it done and over with, so we started last night, and then he finished it this afternoon while the small ones napped and I took the big ones for some back-to-school errands. (School starts in about 2 weeks here, and they're going to be gone next week.) I'm pretty excited about having that all done. We stenciled a design on our wood floors in the dining room, under the table, and then redid the finish in all the rooms on the main floor. Everything is fresh and clean, and looking great. (DH is toast though - currently sound asleep on the couch.)
I'm feeling pretty good. Baby seems to be rolling from posterior to LOA, which is an improvement, also. Have my home visit with the midwife this week, and after that we're good to go any time! Exciting and scary. Can't wait to see this baby, and be done with being pregnant for a while! Having some terrible round ligament pain at times. Apparently you can get varicose veins on your round ligaments, and that will increase the pain, and it wouldn't surprise me if that's what's happened to me. I've got varicose veins REALLY badly all over my legs. I had an attack of round ligament pain the other night that lasted about 15 minutes and left me crying in pain and gasping for breath. It was awful. Not sure what triggered it - we were just sitting at the supper table, and it started to twinge and slowly got worse and worse, and I went to lie down, but nothing helped. (never does.) Thankfully that is the worst it's ever been - usually it's just a couple minutes of relatively intense pain. I've asked the midwives about it, and there's not really anything that can be done. Glad that this should all be over in a few weeks!
Like I said, though, other than those occasional attacks, I'm generally feeling pretty good.

Could I be added as well to the list? I'm due December with Teni

All is going well over here. I ordered a really cute onesie off Etsy for after Freya is born that says "born at home" and it has a picture of a house with a heart in it
