    implanon

    hi i just got the implanon implant in yesterday..my daughter is 7 weeks old..was just wondering if it is effective straight away? i asked the dr like 3 times lol (dont want to fall preg yet) she said it is but i have read on net heaps if u have it in 21 days or after giving birth it doesnt begin to work until a week after insertion. anyone know?

    my friend was told to wait at least seven days - i think whilst it is 'effective' straight away - you're best to try and let your body be on the 'safer' side.
    Especially as with breastfeeding - although they say exclusive for six months is protection - you can't know that you're definitely not ovulating - and then just in case you have ovulated seven days is enough of a safety net - if you get what i mean??
