We have just had to knock back a holiday package cause it only catered for 2 kids lol. The lady trying to sell it to me didn't even try after I told her we were expecting #5 lol.

As for food, I have had to up my allowance to $400 per fortnight. I manage this by shopping at Aldi. I don't buy stuff I don't need and try not to buy junk food. Sometimes the kids talk me into it.

We buy dominos pizza on a Tuesday night when they are $4.95 each so can feed us all for under $20.

Halltribe I laughed when I read what your DH said. My DF thought it was funny too. He has 3 stepkids and this will make 2 bio ones. So heaven knows what he would say lol.

My GTT test came back normal yay. So now can concentrate on having the birth I want.

    Will drop in again soon

    Take care

...some guy asked my DH if they were all his (meaning the kids of course) and he replied back quick as a wink - I'm still waiting on the bloodtests! Cheeky sod!
I worked with a guy who was going through the checkout at a local grocery store with his wife then pregnant with his son. The cashier looked at the two of them then looked at him and said you must be real excited to which the guy looked at his wife then back at the cashier and with a straight face said "oh its not mine".

I guess the poor woman was speechless and had a horrid look on her face...wish I could have seen it. Actually I wish I had the guts to mess with people like that.

The closest I come is when people want to know if we are done or say something like "their all your kids?", I typically say "yup, what can I say - were breeders". Then of course there is the traditional "don't you know what causes this?" My wife was asked this by a good friend in church one morning who thought he was being really funny. My wife looked at him and said "yes and apparently we like what causes it". The guy turned real red and his wife about fell over laughing at him.

hehe when i was pregnant with #4, we were buying bunk beds for the kids and the woman in the store asked if we knew what caused it. My DP was looking after our other 3, keeping them occupied, so I replied, yeah but we haven't found a cure for it yet!

Some people really should mind their own business!

    ha ha ha!!!

We have been asked whether we are Catholics or rabbits? Neither!!!

It REALLY REALLY annoys me when people think I have this many kids to get more money from the government!!! Are they joking?!?

truth is they should be asking you to have more kids! The tax base is shrinking because of small families - a larger family will eventually equate to a larger tax base which will raise the quality of life in society.

It's not like the government gives you that much ... our FTB only increased about $100 per fortnight when #4 came along! But we don't do it for the money!

Welcome aboard Cathy and big congrats on the twins!!!! I was in a shop yesterday with just 3 of my children and a lady said to me - You poor thing you must be so busy. I smiled and thought if only she knew this was less than half of my my kids! (And don't feel sorry for me I am as happy as a pig in muck!)

In some peoples minds kids are a hassle not a blessing - silly them!

Cathie!! Huge congrats on your twins!!! When I was pregnant wit #4, we were actually hoping it would be twins!! (odds were good as we have a history of twins on both sides!) You'll do fine, I'm sure!

hehehe halltribe - when I just have TWO of my kids with me (the two youngest) alot of people tell me I must have my hands full - and I tell them that this is only half of them!!

But I'm used to having two or three under school age!!

Tee Hee. The other day I took a friend of mine and her 3 kids to a soccer pratice while she had no car, my hubby looked after my kids. I thought great going somewhere where its not my kids I have to keep track of and I am not the freak with 7 kids! Not so my friend (God bless her) ushered me around to everyone introducing me to her friend with 7 kids! Soon I had a group of people around me asking me 20 questions! So much for going incognito!!!

My kids range in age from 13 down to 20 months at the moment so will be interesting lol

Going out with our 5, and pregnant, I get people asking me how many of them are mine!! Should see there face when I say all of them!!!

It doesnt help that I am only 31, and really only look in my 20's.

But I wouldn't swap it for the world... We'd have more if we were millionares!!!

Hey purple girl when is Kane's op???
My oldest (Cerebal palsy) boy has hip surgery in Feb (quite major) he has to be on bed rest with no sitting up for 6 weeks then has about 4 months learning to walk again. I am not looking forward to it. Its a big thing for the whole family.

I usually love going out with my kids but sometimes I do get sick of being stared at and talked about. Its my life and family and has nothing to do with anyone else!!

Feeling a bit tired today and wanna change my name from something other than mum for 5 minutes!!

    I know those days honey!!!

Kanes Palate op should be Oct/Nov. We'll have to be in Sydney about a week. Kane has a small hip op when he is 5 also. They will take some hip bone and graft him a gum, and screw in fake teeth into the fake gum... Apparently its the worst of all his op's....

I asked our surgeon if he could take some of my hip instead, to save Kane from it, and he said no, it has to be perfect match to keep growing. I dont think many parents had asked before, he looked quiet shocked!!!

Your poor big boy... I hate kids having op's, its horrible. I cried all day with Kanes...

I'm sorry for both of your family's and little ones having to go through this. I hope all goes well and they pull through their surgeries fine. Hang in there you guys will get through the rough days and your fam's will be stronger too! When you get tired of people opening their mouth when they should keep it shut, just drop in here where large families are celebrated.

    Purplemamma,

Are you having the op done at the Children's hospital? Who is your surgeon? We just had a 3 day stay there a couple of weeks ago to have bub's hernia op.

Join the club with looking young! I'm almost 35 and people still look at me as if I'm a teen mum!!
