THANK YOU!! I am so glad that me feeling upset is justified... I am feeling horrible about this pregnancy as it is... feeling sick coupled with a very unplanned pregnancy is really making it tough. Then I get comments like this... I feel like bawling!

I know how you feel - it hits a button when you are still coming to terms with the pregnancy yourself, to have people say such awful things.

When I was having #5, I was having my hair done at about thirty weeks and the woman next to me asked if it was my first. No, I said, it's #5. "Are you Catholic?" she asked incredulously. INstead of being rude, I answered and said, "No, this is our "oops"". "Well that's what contraception is for!" she said. I was so upset I just cried for the rest of the day.

This one, #6, is a total oops too (careless, I know, but I love him, so nyah) and I was so nervous about what people would say. Then I decided that i would just not care, that I would announce this pregnancy as proud as punch and with a big grin, and if anyone was rude to me, or about it, I would say, "How incredibly rude!"

When my sister heard about my unexpected pregnancy, she was delighted for me even though I was upset. "It's a *baby*," she said.

Take care - I hope that you are able to come to terms with your pregnancy and enjoy it as much as you deserve to. You've had an unexpected person in your life and you'll embrace it and love it, and that's *great*. I'll celebrate with you!

Go post on her page & say...
'OMG I think it might be twins!! I'm so excited! Think of the money!!'
(I'm not in anyway suggesting you are after money! Just thought it could be amusing)
FWIW - She's a cow & I would avoid her in the future if possible.

Tanya - So sorry hun that you are starting to get comments like that. I know it can be hard to ignore such comments, as I know what you are going thru. I only just recently had No.5. I used to get, Ohhhh, so you wont be having anymore after this one will you? Or Was it planned? etc. Honestly everyone IRL didnt even congratulate me on my pgcy. I had also had a m/c before that pgcy by a couple of mths and I would get ohhh it is too soon. I hated the fact that I used to feel like I had to justify me being pg and why I would even consider having another one. How it became anyone elses business apart from DH & I is beyond me. It was as if they were going to be raising the next baby or something.
Anyway Tanya, just know you arent alone and this baby of yours is a true blessing, be happy and enjoy your pgcy and look forward to welcoming your new little bundle into the world and your wonderful family in around 7mths time. DOnt let anyone make you feel bad about having a big family. A big family is wonderful.

Congratulations hun on your pgcy... hugs

I must admit to chuckling at similar comments from friends of mine about my 4th PG when I was talking to them but I knew they were said in jest.
Do you think it's said to stir or a bit tongue in cheek? I have certain friends (and rellies) who I can talk dirty too and it's all very light hearted so if it came from one of them then it wouldn't bother me. Others it would.

Definitely ask her what she meant by it and that it upsets you for her refer to you like that.

I wouldn't call her a 'friend' just someone I know... and I would expect this to come from her, cause she is...hmmm... well not very classy.

I dunno.. I might just leave it and if anything eles is said I will just delete her (afer letting her know)... no loss to me!

Both my husband and my self are from 7 children families and both parents 7th child was unplanned. But the joy they both bought.
How many children you have is no one else's business whether planned or unplanned.

I would delete her from your list of friends.

Tanya, your friends comments are just disgusting!

You are lucky enough to be able to have babies, so you are doing so, and its making you and your family happy, so maybe that person should learn how to "swallow" their own comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS by the way! I think you are so very lucky to have #5 on the way!!

Tanya. That is really awful that someone would do that. It's very annoying that she didn't think about your feelings. Is she a close friend? If so, perhaps you could let her know that she has upset you. Otherwise, maybe just stop contact with her. It doesn't sound like it would be any great loss to you!

    that is disgusting.

something i have learned lately .. (after having house of rellies for the holidays)

stop and ask yourself.... "is this persons opinion important to me"

then no matter what the answer... go and eat some chocolate.

We love you Tanya, and your beautiful family.

Gosh....ive had a few nasty comments myself, but nothing like that. I agree, she is sooooo jealous.

    More recently ive had:
    "Im pregnant"
reply: "God, go the mini bus" !!!!!!!!!!-(no congrats or anything....)
    or
    "We're pregnant"
reply:"Well, you two really need to find a new hobby"............

Both hurtful comments, both comments ive ignored, but now and then they creep back into my mind.

ETA: i love the swallow that comment......that is gold......

    Hugs hun...

Tanya, she is just jealous and probably doesn't think before she speaks. I think you are a very lucky woman indeed to have such a beautiful big family, I think having a big family would be just so wonderful. I didn't meet my DF until 3 years ago, that's just life I suppose!!

You have every reason to feel upset .
