    Any1 in 1st IVF Cycle???

Well, can't the world change in less than 24 hours. Had a call from the FS this afternoon, apparently more is not necessarily better when it comes to follies.

Despite having no apparent symptoms from the Puregon the FS thinks that the trigger injection will be too much for me as yesterday's blood test had my eostrogen levels through the roof. So this means no EPU on Thursday. Back to the drawing board and I mean all the way back. When AF comes round again I start the Microgynon. So I'm back with you Tanya, never wanted AF so badly! This will put next potential pick up in August!

I was in Wollongong on my way back home to the Central Coast so I had a good 3 hours to cry, hang up twice on DH and refuse to answer his six other calls (He's a boy sohow does he know how I feel etc etc etc...).

So much for the new and improved "nothing can upset me" person I thought I'd become. Actually I decided it was better to get it all out of my system and then get on with it and I feel much better for it. On the plus side birthday coming up next weekend and at least I will be able to have a drink to celebrate!

Hope everyone else has better news!

    Lots of
    Shelly

PS, I've made up with DH and he's cooking me dinner and admits that "yes he knows nothing and it is a common downfall of the male species so he really can't be blamed"

    Hi Shelly,

I'm so sorry that things didn't go well for you this time. I'm still waiting for AF I want it to arrive so badly - as does my DH. It will be a late July EPU for me hopefully!

Will keep you up to date with my developments over the next few weeks!

    Hi ladies,

I am amazed at the number of first cyclers in here at the moment. I truly goes to show that we are not alone in our IVF journey, and there are a great bunch of women and couples out there willing to support each other.

shellyd - I am so sorry to hear the FS cancelled your cycle, I know its hard, but try to stay in a positive frame of mind, so you can be in a great headspace for the next cycle.

As for me, well, week 2 of the synarel spray, and boy am i just loving that - not!!! Am lucky enough not to be getting headaches or hot flushes etc, but I tell you, the tast of synarel at 7am - its just great isnt it!!! Blood test is scheduled for Thursday, so fingers crossed that it will be all ok, and the darling hubby can start injecting me - he is sooo looking forward to that (he reckons its' his revenge for years of nagging!!!).

Any way , good luck to you all in your sniffing, injecting, epu's and 2ww's!

    Catch up again soon...

AAAWWWWWWW Shelly, I really feel for you!! I am close to tears reading your post!! Man that really sux! How could that happen? Why did it go so wrong? This is such a confusing time. I dont mean to be negative for you I should be trying to prop you up with positive vibes,
Anyway as you say have a good cry get it all outta your system and have a fantastic birthday! If you need to talk we are all here. And I wish you all the best for round 2. make sure they monitor you more closely this time if they can.

I am so sorry to hear that your EPU has been cancelled - and you have come so far! Hopefully your FS has a new plan of attack to try to ensure that your next cycle is completed. I am having issues with my dose of Gonal-F at the moment - I think I have moved from no follie stimulation to mild OHSS in 2 days - so I am really worried that it is all going wrong and that my cycle will be cancelled too. But everyone keeps telling me this so I thought I would share with you: your FS is learning (just as you are) about your body in the first cyle. This extra information should increase your chances of a successful cycle next time around. I know it is hard to feel positive at the moment, but try to look forward and enjoy your birthday on the weekend!

    Cheryl

PS Missy - my 40th birthday is on the 15th of July!

Actually I decided it was better to get it all out of my system and then get on with it and I feel much better for it.
That's the way i do it now too. And then the sadness seems to not last as long.
I'm sorry it didn't work out for you - but it's true what everyone says, things will go better next time because it's a bit of a learning curve. My first cycle went pear-shaped too, and many others have had cancellations. It sux, but it seems to be a necessary evil.

Hang in there until August !!

oh happy birthday for the 15th hun.
Thanks Missy - a bit of a coincidence with me and your friend huh? Anyway, I hope they enjoy their surprise birthday party. I am keeping mine fairly low key what with the first cycle and all, and because we can't really afford to do anything too extravagant - you should see the credit card bill this month!!!!

Hi Blayz, Kotare, Missy and all the new first timers...its been a good week and a half since i last wrote on here, just after my EPU and confirmation of fertilised eggs. On ET day, we were told that 5/6 had not developed well, so they were going to wait for the 5 days till blast to see if they could be frozen, the one they transfered was supposedly 'well developed' and 'were they expected it to be after 2 days', but i really don't know, first cycle and all! Anyway, i thought i'd have some time away for myself
Now, i'm back...the ET went well, was actually more painful for me than the EPU due to the build up of Crinone and now it's just the TWW period. I'm feeling good, and thinking positive, but it is such a nervous first time wait - i have looked up online so many times to see when i can do a HPT rather than wait for the BT, but DH keeps telling me to just be patient!
Sorry about the long post! You all sound like you're going well and aren't having 2 many side effects from the meds It was great to read Ltl Panda got a BFP, hope that we all follow in her footsteps

    Hi Blayz and all!
My DH and I look like we're heading down the IVF track pretty soon also. We will be a bit behind you. I may not be able to sympathise yet with what you're going through, but can certainly cheer for you, so please do let us know how you go.
I too am feeling somewhat anxious about everything, and know it would help to hear others experiences.
Wishing LOADS and LOADS of LUCK to you (and everyone else in the same boat)! I hope we're all up the duff v.soon!
Congrats Lt.Panda on the 7 eggies fertilised - yay! Good luck Sunday.

    Hi Kimbe,
I hope you are going well - good luck on staying sane in the the dreaded TWW. I hope it can be your last TWW for a while and you get to follow the lucky ltl Panda into the pg forum.
Take good care of yourself and let us know how you get on.
    Jo
