I agree, God would have cringed, to say the least. What on Earth could have motivated her to say such a thing? Would she like to be treated in such a judgemental manner? I can think of more examples in the bible condemning HER behaviour than women enduring IVF!!! "Love thy neighbour as yourself" springs to mind...
If you have the strength I would write her a letter. She can't continue going around citing such nonsense! I wouldn't try to clarify biblical statements as they are notoriously able to be taken out of context. I would simply reveal your pain. If she was any kind of Christian she would be terribly upset to know that she could have hurt you so much. You might find that putting your anguish into words is healing too. Maybe just something to consider. I agree, imagine how many other people in her audience could be suffering in silence. She needs to be made accountable. Just a suggestion... just a way that you could turn a terrible negative into a postive.
Oh and for the record I believe that God has absolutely nothing to do with whether you conceive or not. However i also believe that life is a bit like a spiritual bootcamp... situations such as these can either strengthen your character or make you weak and bitter. Be strong
ETA: Jennifer: you read my mind!!! Just saw your post... posted at the same time LOL
