IUI wise, we were told around 20-25% success rate - which i don't think is unreasonable - i guess it matches up with the success rates for natural conception

re the needles, i think most of us do our own, although our trusty male influence Rols give his wife the injections each night cos she was a little needle phobic to start out - it's really not as scary as it seems when you start out!
