Hoping no one experiences a IVF cycle like my last, I went through so much pain with egg retrieval and got 8 eggs, too my big dissappointment there were 3 left but 1 just hanging in their for transfer and leaving none to freeze, this is the most eggs we have had for EPU but the least lasting blast.
IVF #1 EPU 7 eggs Blast 2 eggs and the only 2 for transfer - BFN - DEC04
IVF #2 EPU 6 eggs Blast 4 eggs - transferred 2 and froze 2 - BFP - Twins (lost 4/7/05 & 5/7/06) FEB 05
FET #1 transferred - DEC 05 - BFN
IVF #3 EPU 8 eggs Blast 1 egg and only one transferred - JUNE 06 - currently 2ww and have blood test on 6/7/06

Had my first blood test yesterday and I have down regulated. So I start my injections tonight...........I hate injections. I have another blood test on Tuesday as I have one polycystic ovary they just want to check that I am not overstimulating.
I have had no symptoms on the Synarel so far and I tell you I have had the best AF pain ever because of the Synarel. Only taken 4 Nurforen.............now that is a world record for me. I know why people with endo take it now!!!!!!! But apparently the gonal is going to aggreviate it so we will see...........
I am still being positive about this cycle but it's weird I still don't really feel like we are doing IVF........maybe when they do the retrieval I will............Has anyone else felt like that????
I have a question guys....for everyones first ivf cycle- did you all have down reg stim cycles? Is there another option? If so, what is the difference and how do the docs choose who does which cycle? thanks
there are a few protocols, but the two main ones are flare and down reg. I guess you already know what down reg entails, but with a flare cycle they start stimming you as soon as you get AF, but you take nothing before AF. This type of cycle tends to bring on eggs fairly quickly, and many Drs don't like it because it gives them less control. Apparently you also get better quality eggs on down reg (don't know how true that is though)
I did two flare cycles and 3 down reg cycles. My first two were flares.
I have been having the most boring cycle on the microgynon LOL - am very keen to jump back into the action next month.
What happens for a FET cycle? I must ring the IVF nurse on Monday to find out, because AF is due in a couple of days, and I think I remember her saying something about an appt on CD5.
It's good you're calling your clinic to find out what happens next. You never get quite enough instructions from the IVF clinics, do you? Just enough to get you to the next hurdle, but not usually more than that. I wonder if they worry about overloading us with info. Personally I'd rather someone went through exactly what was going to happen step by step! Lol!
Normally you would call the clinic on CD1 to let them know you're good to go. They then start bringing you in for bts to track when you O, then transfer your snowbub 2 days after (if it was frozen at day 2) or 5 days after (if it was frozen at blast stage) you have your LH 'surge', which indicates that you are due to ovulate.
Hope AF arrives quickly for you, and you get going again!

Danni I hope you are doing ok. Lets hope that you fall pregnant soon before you decide on what you are going to do next.
Jade I also feel like you, I don't really feel like we are doing IVF yet. I took my first needle this morning which was ok. No side effects as yet. I am feeling positve so lets hope that this is the month for us. They are predicting my egg pick up will be around the 12th. Are you with Melb or Monash? Are you doing your own needles? I have got my husband doing it for me.

We are doing IVF through Monash. Who are you doing it through??? I have had 2 injections third one will be tonight. Hubby is doing my injections............I hate injections............the needle is quite thin which is good. I feel a little emotional today maybe it's the gonal. I guess I will know a date for my egg pick up after my first blood test which is Tuesday. If the blood test results are all ok then I have a U/S and blood test on Friday. I hope it is our month too .
