The fruit will cause a spike Willi. So will any other type of carb - bread, pasta, rice, etc.

    How high was it??

Not sure how high it was. I eat bread but no pasta, rice etc.
think I'll just need a low GI diet, but saying that I really don't know how to make our meals any more low GI. Also said goodbye to wine last week so that's gone. Trying to get in touch with FS. Was already planning grilled fish with salad for dinner........ Can't really do better then that for immediate change :-(

Stay away from fruit. Berries are okay but everything else is a killer

Sorry to say this, but don't drink too much green tea - it inhibits folate absorption. The "safe" amount of green tea is unknown.

Yes, really. Just google "green tea and folate". It's one of those areas where there is some disagreement, so I'd recommend reading a few different views and making up your own mind about how much you feel comfortable drinking.

Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception March 2013

Hi girls. I'm stalking... Just keeping in touch too.

DF has an appt at the clinic on April 2nd to supply sperm to be washed & frozen for our next stimulated IUI/AIH cycle.
I'm excited, have only done OI in the past on clomid for a week etc, this time I'm doing injections for 2 weeks & then the trigger, boosters & prog pessaries again. I wonder how I will go on injections instead of clomid, does anyone know the difference ?? FS said its a slower release of hormones than the clomid.

Meanwhile I'm waiting for AF to arrive, she's due shortly but we won't be doing a cycle when she arrives coz obviously DFs sperm ain't goin in til April 2nd. Might be good timing, just have to wait & see.

DF is meeting FS (Margo Norman) for the first time on march 20th. We have a follow up consult with her, then we are both seeing the councillor at the clinic. Will be good to have him with me for once instead of taking my mum with me as he is at work every second week.

Hope everytime is feeling good & thinking positive. Take care & I'll let you know for the list when the ***** arrives !!

    Peace out xxxx

Re: Long Term TTC & Assisted Conception March 2013

    hello everyone!
we arent ttc yet but will start again in June. and it has just occurred to me that we are within 3months. so..should I start taking multivitamins etc now? what about acupuncture? ive never had it before but keen to give it a go so would itbe better to do it before we start ivf or wait until we are in the cycle?
    tia.

add: also, we are planning on using our frozen eggies first so how much prep do I need to do as they are already fertilised itms, so its more getting my body ready rather than eggs.

Curtysgirl, the main difference I found between clomid and injects was the s/e (horrid on clomid, none on injects). I still O'd around the same time for each (but I O on my own, so the meds are just giving a boost). FX the timing works out well for you! It can be exciting when the ball finally starts rolling after a long wait!

TT40, GL when you start TTC. If/when you want to be added to the list, just let me know your details. Definitely start on some extra folic acid now (either in a multi like Elivit or the Blackmores one, or just 500ug on its own) as it's recommended to increase your intake for 3 months before TTC. I'd also get your immunity status checked for things like rubella and chicken pox at this time (if you have to update the vaccine it is usually a 3 month wait). If you're just starting with a FET, you could delay starting acupuncture until the cycle before (or even the FET cycle). It's generally recommended to start acupuncture 4 months before an IVF, but that's to maximise egg quality. Since you're using frozen embryos rather than growing fresh eggs, you don't need that extra preparation. That said, I quite enjoy the acupuncture, so I'd probably start now anyway, even though it's not necessary. Just make sure you find someone who specialises in fertility - going to someone who doesn't know what they're doing can cause more harm than good.

    N2L, sorry to hear that.

Afm, I wish I'd stop spotting already... I normally have a 5-day AF with minimal spotting, but this one was only 2 days, then 2 days of sporadic very light flow and now spotting for days on end.... So over it...

Hi all, just got back from a cracker holiday up on the NSW North Coast. Perfect timing as the day before we left we got the word that our PGD feasibility testing is all done and they are ready to for us to start. Woohoo!!! Now just waiting for AF to arrive so I can start the pill so that we can work out all the timings with the lab.

Hi to everyone! Hope you are all travelling well xxx

for n2l and juniper.... AF sucks

everyone - I'm really having trouble keeping track of everything sorry no personals, I'm still here, checking, but just in limbo mostly and hiding in the background.

Im off to the FS on Friday to see what he has to say. It's the first time since the last negative cycle, and I am hoping he has some other ideas of what we can do... But who knows.... For now, I'm just waiting, with no success in the weight loss department, I am upset with myself, which is of course making it worse
