Lou, gosh what a hard time you have had with it. I changed to MIVF as well because I wanted that continuity of care as well and so far I have found that I prefer seeing my dr for everything, plus he is much easier to get appointments with than my previous FS, it's a real personal preference isn't it. It is nice to have some others going through at the same time. I will pop my email address onto my profile if you want to get in touch.

When I last saw my Dr, he told me that for EPU the doctors are rostered on so I could get any of the 12 or so that work there and may not get to see him again until after my pg blood test. That's interesting, I didn't know that it would be different anywhere else as in being able to see your own dr regularly. Already my nurse has been changed as she is going on leave. I only spoke to her on the phone and then when I went in for my appt to see her last week she sent someone else out and didn't even bother to come and say hi. I thought that was a bit strange.

Lou that's what I was meaning with it being personal preference.

Megan - my gynea told me people change FS quite regularly, he was of the opinion that sometimes we click with a specialist and sometimes not. The best advice he gave me was to "pin them down" and make sure you always know where you stand and what is going on. I doubt very much you will have any probs with your dr (having been a patient of him in the past) and if so I would let him know directly. Gosh it's stressful isn't it!

Lou - I was with a Monash FS but not with Monash IVF as such. I just had a few issues with him getting appointments and clear advice, plus I was stressed out of my mind at the time with male factor problems as well as my endo and it really all got too much. I am very much settled down now. I agree it's good to move on and not look back too much. I would hate to think we were stressing each other out as that's not what it's about is it, and to be honest I believe that both clinics have their good points, it is just a personal preference.

I'm sure everything will be fine too. I know that people would have had good/bad experiences where ever they go. I sometimes think that maybe I expect too much, and I have very high expectations of the entire experience with any IVF clinic I choose to attend.

Jane - That's good advice there with regards to making sure you always know where you stand and what is going on. Will definately keep that in mind over the next coming months.

Well FF took away my coverline, but gave it back to me today.. Very sweet of them! Anyway, that's 1 month of charting almost over. Just playing a waiting game atm with regards to getting a current referral since mine is 2 years old.

Don't think the Dr I saw is practicing at the moment, so not sure if I should find a new Dr and explain it all again and see what happens.

I'm probably going to have to go to another town to find a Dr, but it's so hard to choose when you don't live there and know who is good and who isn't. Going to my parents next week which is 200klms away, and am thinking of going to visit my mums Dr, take my referral and see if she will give me a new one? Anyhoo.. will catch up with you all before I go away.

AF finally showed up for me yesterday...8 days after my last provera tablet - I was told by the clinic AF would start 3-5 days after and the last time I took Provera she showed up the very next day...go figure. So now unfortunately my cycle is completely out by just over 1 week and we will have to cancel our FET because we are going to be away just when it falls time to do FET. It was planned to be done a week before going away but with my body not doing what it's told yet again....bummer!!:mad:
So we try again next cycle, just shows you that you can't really plan anything around IVF. I work shift work as it is so add IVF to the picture and I really have no life LOL !!!!
It's all for a reason though and we just keep on keeping on. I'll keep up with all you girls in here - so I'll be living through you all for the next month or so....it just feels so crap, knowing you have another month to wait- almost like you're not doing anything towards falling pregnant - I don't know if anyone else feels like this sometimes...sorry about the rambling but I know you all understand....Lots of Love and Babydust

Oh Alex what a bummer. It’s bad enough that you have to do all this stuff, you’d think your body would just co-operate occasionally !!!!

It has been very interesting reading all the post about different clients and people reasons for choosing them etc, I really like my clinic and have found all the people there really supportive (Ballarat IVF). I was wondering though…. I am due to have another FET next week and was wondering what options are available, I have a scan due on Friday but would like to get a bit of back ground before hand.

Currently I am doing natural FET cycles, ie no drugs etc just testing for LH surge and then transfer of Embie (thaw & Transfer). I have questioned them about doing a thaw and culture (thaw the embie, culture it in the lab for 24 hours and them transfer) As I had concerns about doing a straight transfer from the thaw stage as you don’t really know whether the embie is viable or not, only that it has successfully defrosted. )plus feedup with having FET and getting my hopes up only to realise that I didn’t even really know if the embie was even growing.

I was wondering what other ways there are for doing this and as I don’t have any sort of drugs.. not even the progesterone pessary (?) afterwards and whether it is something I should be doing. I fully intend on asking these questions on Friday but I would prefer to find out a bit of info beforehand and my books don’t really cover all these different techniques. I am down to my last embie and getting a bit desperate !!! Seriously though I feel that I am no closer to finding out why it isn’t working and what the reasons are. Ie is it the embies, or is it that they are not imbedding or is it hormonal etc.

AHHH sorry for the war and peace epic but I am just curios as to what goes on in other clinics.

The FET's that ive had I had to go onto HRT (prognova?) so to get my body ready for when the doc wanted it!

Ive never had a natural cycle and too would be interested in what is involved, i also think i had a thaw and culture only because i had to wait for my body to catch up (refer above for drug mess up, if you like).

I know the most frustrating thing i find with having treatment is that i know the little embies are alive and healthy when they go in, i just hope that they berry themself in tight!!

I can not tell you if its the embie or your hormones but you could ask your FS and he/she may check your hormone levels during traetment which they sould be doing anyway.

I ve already noticed im a little snappy, poor DH i cant help myself why do i become this snappy whitch at every little thing that didnt really bother me b4. I know this may sound really stupid but i always aim for complet harmony while doing treatment and we always end up bloody yelling then i get upset. (not at that stage yet).

The doc gave me a referral to see Dr Gronow.

I got in next Tuesday!

So not too long to wait.

Meantime I will be Oing in the next few days so last chance for my inside to do the right thing!!

I hope it all goes well for you, please don't stress too much, I sort of know how you are feeling we only have 1 embie left as well...keep us posted - I have everything crossed for you

Loula - LOL about starting out all haromonious...the same happens in our household, poor DH can't do anything right by the end of it all. I'm sure he feels soooooo hard done by, but hey we go through so much I think we deserve to let off a bit of steam every now and then. Take care of you honey.

Racheal - Good luck with your TTC this month - I hope you catch that eggie....fingers crossed .

Hi Ladies,

Had epu on Monday. Got 7 eggs and today 6 have fertilized. I was wondering if anyone was really bloated and sore all over their stomach and how long it lasted for? I did slightly overstimulate (huge ovaries)the doctor said.

I have et on Thursday morning. I hope I'm not as sore then or is that quite normal.

it is quite normal to be sore after your epu. I've had sore cycles and cycles were I've not felt anything. Rest heaps so that you're as good as can be when your et comes round. Good luck!

Sari, I've done completely unmedicated FETs too, as in no pessaries even. I always questioned whether it was wise, but my Dr believed my body was managing its hormones well on its own, and he wanted as little interference as possible. In a way, he was right, coz the cycle I fell pg, my P4 levels from the pessaries shot up to over 1000iu, when they only needed to be about 100iu.

Just for anyone new who hasn't heard my story, I have had 3 children naturally while in my 20s. I had a tubal ligation at 26 at my ex's insistence, but had it reversed when we split up 5 years later. My current husband and I tried for 3 years naturally before discovering my tubes were completely blocked. The medical professionals said that because I was previously fertile, IVF would work for me no problems, but it still took 8 long, difficult cycles for us to fall pg.

So what I'm trying to say is, IVF does work for many couples, and the majority of you will have a baby if you keep going, but sometimes you just can't tell why one cycle works and another doesn't. Stay strong, girls, and remember, EVERY transfer is a chance!

your story does make me feel optimistic, this time DH and i are going to go back to back with cycles for as long as we can a)afford and b) cope with emotionally.

Im very interested in a natural cycle and will be asking my Gyn about it when i see her next week any more info would be great. Do you know if its possible for women with PCOS to do natural cycle FET?

I am a newbie! I am not sure if I just add myself onto this thread but here goes! I am on my 2nd cycle of FSH injections (puregon). My last cycle was cancelled because my usually stubborn ovaries went on to produce about 100 follicles all at once. My FS now thinks he has the right dose and I am injecting 125iu now. Clomid didn't work with me so at least I know FSH gets things moving. I just hope not so much this time. We are hoping that this time we only get one or two so we can still BD at home.

Good luck to everyone else here on whichever part of their cycle they are at and let's hope to hear of lots of BFPs!
