Hi Mon! My FS said that if you have polycystic appearing ovaries then you are at a slightly higher risk of OHSS, and will often respond quite quickly to the drugs. This is why she chose to start me on a slightly lower dose of Gonal-F and to monitor me earlier. Apparently they like to keep the Oestrogen level b/w a certain range the whole time you're on Gonal, and if it gets too high then they start to have concerns about OHSS. My Oestrogen is all good thus far. Looks like you too were started on a lower dose (probably for the same reason), but they bumped it up when they saw all was progressing ok and you weren't showing any signs of OHSS. Not sure if it is standard to double the dose like they did with you (would anyone else know?), but no doubt they will probably do it a little differently next time for you (hopefully next time is when you're trying for baby #2).
Hope those cramps settle down soon for you. Thinking of your poor BB's too.
Take care
Arielle
