I had an absolutely horrendous time after my EPU. Was off work for three weeks and took ages to recover. BUT I did have a pretty shocking case of OHSS, and the clinic did warn me it was likely to happen. My PCOS gave the clinic quite a few headaches in terms of getting me to respond, and when I did I responded too well. They'd been watching my levels very carefully in the lead up, so it wasn't really a surprise. It is possible to develop OHSS afterwards - but I don't think you could get it as badly as me without having some sort of warning before hand in the way you respond to the FSH injections.
Sorry if I'm scaring anyone - I do tend to be the worst case scenario. Just take it easy and keep your fluid intake up and you should be fine.
