Brunette, I have had a HSG. I took the day off as a precautionary measure, but I would have been fine to go back to work after. The HSG itself did hurt, but afterwards I just had some mild cramping and light bleeding. I didn't take any pain meds before or after and there's no anaesthetic. Some women don't get any pain, others get a lot. From memory, I think they say relaxing can ease some of the pain. Some doctors do prescribe valium to be taken before it. It tends to hurt more for women with blocked tubes because they increase the pressure to try to flush the blockage out. Are you getting it done at the place just down from qfg? That's where I had mine done. From arrival to departure was a couple of hours, but the procedure itself was about 10 mins from memory. Maybe a bit more or less; it was a while ago now so hard to remember exactly. I admit I was very scared and needed DH there for support.
Trueblue, there's absolutely nothing to fear with an IUI. You'll do great! I had a lap to diagnose and remove endometriosis.
kmm, hello and welcome! I'm sorry to hear of your loss and that you've been through the rollercoaster unsuccessfully in the past. I hope this cycle gives you your BFP.
Melissal, sorry to hear your co-worker spilled the beans. In the interests of helping you focus on your trip, where are you heading? I'm keen for DH & I to get away somewhere this year; we've been wanting to for ages.
