Sarah, regarding acupuncture, I've always had a needle phobia. I started acupuncture in July last year and I love it. I go weekly and it's very relaxing. They're not like medical needles - they're very fine and they don't hurt. For an FET cycle I'd expect to go weekly as normal plus just before and just after transfer. At the start of the cycle, the weekly appointments will work on building up your lining. In the 2ww it's about encouraging implantation and keeping the hormones where they should be. The extra treatments before and after transfer are standard for any IVF or FET cycle. They are supposed to encourage implantation and help the uterus be in the right condition. I usually have my "before" one the afternoon before (because my transfer is normally too early to fit one in that morning) and then I go straight to my acu from the transfer for the "after" one. The only other thing I'd say is that you should try to see an acupuncturist who specialises in fertility. That may be more difficult in a regional area though?

    Hi Ladies

Sorry I don't post much in here. I'm all so new to this and I often have trouble understanding what's going on. I'll learn quickly enough soon. I am reading through and trying to keep up. We have our nurse coordinator appointment on Tuesday @ 1pm and then at 2:30pm we have our IVF Dr appointment. I've been on clomid again this cycle to try and keep my cycle regular in prep for IVF but for the first time it looks like it hasn't worked . Am I likely to be prescribed something to bring Af on do you think? I'm CD29 and normally have a 35+ cycle.

So good luck to everyone who is pill poping, sniffing, jabbing, EPU, ET, FET and in the TWW! Gosh I hope i got that right.

Hello everyone on this glorious sunny saturday afternoon!!

Welcome Dinnie, porche, kass and Sarah (hope i havent missed anyone?) - i hope your next cycles are a winner!! We are all here to cheer you on and answer any questions you have. With regards to synarel - i HATED it, headaches and moody yuk! but hang in there with it cause its only a tiny tiny amount of time compared to the lifetime of love & cuddles from your bubba.

Mindhugs - lucky you having a Seaworld multipass! I reckon seeing that little baby dolphin was a SIGN for sure, more little bubs coming your way!

Loops - am glad you are sticking around with us, we enjoy you here. and hopefully you can announce your natural pg over the coming months...it can happen

Dreams - well done with the new job. you are so right, you just never know what is around the corner. if only we all knew WHEN it was going to happen we could easily get through this rollercoaster no probs. If someone told me it would take another 3 years of ivf and guaranteed a baby after then i would still continue to go on, but the unknown is so scary!

Kaybee - congrats on making it to the 2WW. Did you have 1 or 2 transferred?

Well, am happy to say i have 2 good looking embies back on board. They said they were both 7 cells (day 3) and one was even starting to compact. I was a bit worried at first as i thought they should be 8 cells - does anyone know what it should be? Just me being a worrywart of course...whats one cell right? unfortunately the other one divided abnormally, but in the words of meatloaf..."two outta three aint bad!"
So now i join the crazy 2WW train....look out girls hide your pee sticks!!
    Have a good one! xxx

    Hello ladies,
Hoping you have all had a good weekend so far.

Thank you for the congrats on the new job, it has brought a lot of relief to DH and I as it will make it just that bit easier when it comes to our August/September cycle.

Kaybee: Glad the transfer went well. Hope we hear about a BFP after the TWW.

Sarah: Sorry to hear the long TTC road has not been a very good one for you. Wishing you the best of luck that hopefully something positive comes your way soon.

Porsche: Thank you . How are things going with you?
Hope your appointments go well for you on Tuesday

Want: According to the dream dictionaries I own, Diamonds in dreams are omens of Good Luck.
To dream of being in a beautiful and fertile country denotes the very acme of good times is at hand.
Hopefully it brings lots of good luck your way and your dreams do mean something.

Dinnie: Welcome and wishing you luck with your IVF cycle. Hope you get positive results in the not too distant future. Looking forward to seeing you around the forums.

True: , wishing there was something I could say or do. Just letting you know we are thinking of you xox

Mind: It's true that one door closes and another opens, just wish more positive doors open for all the ladies in here.
It would have been beautiful to see the bubba dolphin. They are gorgeous creatures. Sounds like it was a relaxing day for you.
GL with the cetrotide, I haven't heard of it but hope it helps in your journey.

Loops: You can't stay away can you?
Hope things are going well for you at the moment and things get even better for in the not too distant future.

Yogi: Hoping the TWW brings a BFP for you and sending lots and hope it takes.

Sorry if I have missed anyone.

AFM: Just had a relaxing weekend, which was nice not to do anything. It's nearly getting to the point of counting down days until DH and I undergo our first ICSI cycle. Time is going by so quickly.

Take care ladies, talk to you all again soon.

    Hi Ladies

Thanks for the welcomes. I will most likely have heaps of questions lol. I still haven't O'd so I'll be talking to Dr DeAmbrosis about what we need to do. I'm sure he'll have a sugesstion or two lol. I'm guessing he'll put me on BCP first?

I hope the TWW goes quickly for you ladies. I rekon that is the longest time to wait through all of this.

Dreams - I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's appointmets. I'm really excited now. No more waiting it now feels like we are going to be doing something not just sitting on our hands IYKIM? Not long now till you start ICSI. While the days seem to be going really slow I bet they are flying by. I hope that mades sense lol.

Good luck to everyone who is pill poping, sniffing, jabbing, EPU, ET, FET and in the TWW!

    Goodmorning wonderful ladies

Mindhugs - Naturopaths are always a good idea and if you can find a good one they will look at the overall picture not just the problem. I am sorry I also have no idea about this new drug. You will have to bring us all up to speed when you find out more.

Dinnie - I am sure by now you will have spoken to the co-ordinator. However I am told that I will be on the Synarel about 3 weeks. This is my first cycle as well so I am learning on the run.

Porsche - Remember to write down all the questions you have for the nurse. She will be able to answer so much for you and in my limited experience they are happy to do so. I rang my nurse the day after my appointment because I needed to ask the stupidest thing and she was happy to answer.

Dreams TR - I love your interpritation of my dream. I am hoping it is a good omen too.

I know I have missed so many people and I am sorry. Having trouble keeping my eyeballs in my head. I actually slept reasonably well when I did sleep last night. However I woke at 3.30am to use the loo and walked into a door (truly - DH isn't home til tomorrow night lol) and couldn't go back to sleep because of it. Bugger. So I am sitting at my desk pretending I am working and actually just trying hard to stay awake.

    Have a good day all

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for your kind welcoming words. I'm still at the very beginning so I'm very curious about how you all are getting along.

We will have our first appointment with the nurse on Wednesday. And I started with Synarel on Saturday. So Wantaminime, I can already tell you about my experience with that.. Fortunately I could sleep so far, but I also woke up during both nights to use the loo.. And I do have mild headaches and I also feel a bit irritable... I think I will have to be on Synarel for a few weeks too but I will know more on Wednesday.. Anyway, keep up and I wish that you can finally sleep tonight!

Yogi Bear: I'm glad to hear you have some nice embies. Unfortunately I have no idea about the number of cells (not in that phase yet!), but I wish you good luck with them!!

Lisa B: yes, I'm on a Down Reg cycle, just before my first ICSI. Thank you for sharing your experience, it seems sometimes it takes a while till things kick in...

Have a nice day, everyone (even though it is a Monday..)

Hi everyone! So much has happened on here since I was last on. Congratulations to all of those with a BFP!
Well after a failed fresh ET IVF in April, I am now waiting to start the pesseries on my 2nd attempt (first attempt with a frozen embryo). I'm taking 3 progynova a day at the moment and have BT to check levels next Monday to then start the pesseries on Tuesday. My question is if there are any Perth girls on here, where is the best place to get the pesseries? Apparently the chemist at Hollywood charges a small fortune.
Emotionally feeling pretty flat and scared that this FET won't work. Got to try to feel those positive vibes.
    Have a great night all..

    Howdy ladies

    Hi ladies

Hope everyone is well. Congrats to those who got a BFP this month and fingers crossed for those ladies in their TWW

Sarah - I've just started doing acupuncture/chinese herbs in Brissy so please PM me if you'd like to get the details of who I'm seeing.

I see a really lovely lady and she was more than happy to start my acupuncture and herbs on day one of this cycle. I'm currently in my TWW.

So far I've done acupuncture weekly (starting on day 1), and on the day of FET I went in for another session (so twice in that week). The herbs are really yucky but I must say, I've felt a lot more relaxed since starting the process and the mexican valerian (sp???) appears to be doing its trick

I'd certainly recommend giving it a shot - just check with your FS first though as some have certain views on chinese herbs they don't like you taking.

As for the FET this month, we had another blasto which was fantastic. I've been thinking heaps of "up" vibes to try and hold the little fella in place and I really hope it works.

WARNING _TMI.......I had my FET done last Friday and then tonight had a bit of a bleed after BD Not sure if that's a bad sign. I've also had a kind of period pain since Saturday - feels like of been doing sit ups and my abs are sore. Any advice/suggestions?

Sending out sticky vibes to everyone xxoo

Hi everyone, hope it's been a good day!
Justina I had a bit of bleeding after my last FET too - you're probably just a bit 'sensitive' IYKWIM. Be nice if it was implantation though!
K78 my FS just gave the pessaries to me - I didn't know you could shop around! - they were labeled as being from a place in Beechboro - I won't give you the name here since it's probably not allowed! - and they cost about $65 - I have no idea if this is good or not?
A couple more days for me before the BTs start...

    Hi Ladies
Thanks Yogi Bear and Dreams Into Reality - nup can't stay away LOL.
You are all so nice and supportive - that's why :-)
Yogi Bear ~ Congrats on your 2 embies and FX hun!

Hi newbies and wishing you all the very best with your cycles and TTC!
Justina ~ Ive read that blood after BD'ing can be a sign of pg and also the cramps are a good sign - not that Im wanting to get your hopes up too much but that's just what ive read and heard, GL and FX.

AFM ~ CD42 and still no AF and still getting BFN's - grrrr. Think my body is still trying to get back to normal and so probably just as well we are not doing another IVF/ICSI until Oct. On a brighter note - found out yestie In gunna be an aunty again. My oldest sis (34) is preg with her first - very happy for them.

    to all!

    Hello Ladies,

My it is quiet in here this morning. Will take that as a good sign that people are celebrating or plain relaxing.

Loops - Having a rest from all the stress and chemicals was obviously a really good decision for you. Let yourself heal. It is lovely to have you visit. Lovely news about your sister. Congrats to them

Well I am just waiting for AF to rear her head so I can start my injections. I am very quickly learning the art of patience. lol A quality I have always lacked.

    Hi Ladies

Just got home from QFG. I start sniffing synarel tonight and popping Diabex as well as all the other supplements I'm currently on.

I had the old dildo cam as well and he didn't see any dominant follicles. So he said he couldn't tell If I have O or not. I know I haven't but he sent me for BT to check my levels. My lining is good so he seems to think I have O'd but you know.

When I have more time I'll do personals. Have a great night ladies.

Loops I hope you join your sister soon in preggie land and the little cousins can grow up together.

I'll start posting more when we start IVF seeing as at present we are not using ac. IVF should be in the next few weeks if all goes to plan. Or should I add a few months knowing my luck it wont go to plan?

    Hi ladies,

Sorry I haven't been posting here for a few days. I've been only been on the TWW thread as I've been struggling to hold it together during my TWW.

Mildez - great you have a plan to progress things for yourself.

Porsche - are you doing down reg? GL with the drugs.

WMM - I totally lack patience myself, probably the reason I'm doing it tough at the moment. HOpe things go really smoothly for you with the injections

Loops - congratulations on being an aunt. Crossing my fingers and toes that your sister will be an aunt in the very near future as well.

Kass - $65 for pessaries, that's fantastic. I"m in Melb and I just get them from the chemist at the IVF clinic hospital. 14 pessaries usually cost me about $95. I'll have to put the call out to the ladies here for prices in Melb.

Justina - I don't think bleeding is a bad sign, it could be implantation or it could be from the transfer process. I had a little from the transfer.

K78 - you have no reason to think that this won't work as it seems you have some great blasties waiting for you. I know it's easy to think like this logically but our emotions get in the way and seem to want to prepare us for the worst.

Hello all not sure if the last post worked or not (if it did sorry to repeat myself)
Hubby and I have started our first cycle of ivf icsi. I have been on synarel and gonal-f injections. Has anyone had any side effects on gonal-f. I feel pretty good. Think maybe a little blocked but trying to drink lots of water. Saw dr today did ultrasound said follicles looking very good only little concerned maybe leaning towards ohss. Hopefully not. Has anyone had similiar issues then been ok. Due to have pickup on Friday. I looked at the signs of ohss and I seem to have any of them. Maybe they come later. So as long as I don't get signs of that then tranfer early next week. Then its the waiting to see if they took. Otherwise Dr is talking about freezing.

    Hi Girls!!!

Loops - you're def a favourite in here. It will always be good to hear from you. When I'm away from BB you're one of the people I miss hearing from.

LisaB - hope all is going well for you in TWW. I know that feeling all too well. Big huge fat wishes for you!!!

Justina - I agree with all. Bleeding could be a positive. Stay positive. We are all here for you.

Want - patience is required all the way through. Even when you make it past TWW, then you have 1st scan, 2nd scan........patience patience patience. It can drive you mad.

Purplechic - drink truckloads of water starting now. They always tell you this a couple of days before egg pick up, but I have learnt that it does help to start the 3 - 4 ltrs a day all the way through. Could stop your chances of OHSS. Most of all take it really easy. Good luck.

AFM - looks like I have about 9 -13 embies onboard. I'm on an antagonist cycle. 2 injections daily. The Cetrotide replaces Synarel. My nose is happier this cycle that's for sure. But feeling a little sick each night. Hopefully my EPU is Friday morning. This cycle has been much shorter and less taxing than the old Synarel cycle!!!
