    Unhappy

Ok, so I let it get the better of me and I POAS this morning but I got a BFN, I am also starting to get AF I think.

Looks like I'll be ringing my OB to book an appointment to get a lap. DH didn't want to have to end up doing IUI or IVF. I think it would be hard for a male though and a little intimidating. At least he is still willing to do it though. DH and I both share the same need to be a parent.

Like I said before, I'll keep you up to date.

    Have a wonderful day ladies.

Hope - Sorry to hear that you got a BFN but you have a plan of attack & I hope the change of path helps you on this journey.

I have also joined the IVF thread with Porsche, but seeing as my FS appt isn't until July I will continue to stay a part of both, even though atm I don't really fit in to either b/c I am not taking Clomid anymore either..... :S Hope you all don't mind?

and I was on gonal, and I couldn't leave! When I see my new FS in August, I'm wondering if I won't be to far behind you guys. Surely 14 months on clomid (10 rounds) is way too long?!
Jules, & Porsche- I feel like I know you and you've been such a huge support to me. I really hope that your journeys are short now and you both have another bubs in your arms not far into 2011! FX & hugs for you both.
Hope- All the best for IUI. Sorry about the BFN, we all know the dissapointment, but it doesn't make it any easier. Keep us posted!
Hi to all you other ladies! Hope to see some BFP's soon,
Have a great long weekend everyone,
    Bec
    P.S. Still waiting for AF...

Kris - I hope I didn't offend you - sorry forgot you hadn't started Clomid yet :S I am glad you can join this thread & others for loads of support. BB has been certainly my rock over the past few months

Bec, I won't leave you, any of you - you have been such good friends & support for me too, although I know I don't give much away at times I truly am thankful for everyone in this thread & who were here & have been fortunate enough to end up with sticky beans. I hope that all of us can look forward to 2011 babies - I need belly buddies (if I am fortunate enough to fall pg) since all my other thread friends are UTD as too are my IRL friends. I feel for you Bec, you road has been a horrid one in the time with Gonal F injections, Clomid for that long and those horrible side effects it gives (& all the other crap) - I was over it after 6 rounds, so you have been awesome to keep going for so long.

Ahurani - How are you going? To answer your question I have read that it is usually administered for btw 3-6 cycles. Obviously each GYNO/OBS/FS will prescribe what they believe is best (well, not sure if all will agree with me - Bec??? & whether they really do). My GYNO/OBS gave me 8 cycles however I only took 6 cycles. Something in my heart knew that Clomid was not going to be what we needed to fall pg. HTH

Hello to everyone else. I hope you all enjoy your long weekends - for the Aussie chicks & *waves* to the overseas gals who will be anticipating the weekend soon

    Hi Girls
Just wondering if I can join in on this thread again. I used to "chat" in here way back in 2006 2007 when ttc my DS. Now I'm back about to start Clomid this week(af arrived yesterday) and have been taking Metformin since February too.
As you can see I have a healthy little 2.5 year old and have 5 little angels playing in the clouds and am hoping for 1 more earthside bubba. I have PCOS and a few other things going on. I'm just looking for some support during this clomid journey as I remember its a bit of a tough gig to deal with at times.

of course you can join Mako! Your journey sounds quite similar to mine actually. Lokking forward to getting to know you.

Jules- Isn't it funny that we can feel we know someone whom we've never actually met? I feel like I know you guys, and have shared so much with you all. I'll bet a few in here will be in a BB thread with you, when you get UTD! (when- not if!!!) You will get another precious Earthbaby becasue all of the patience and pain and grief has to amount to something wonderful!

Ahurani- I always thought 6 cycles was the max, but my FS seemed to think becasue it was working (I did fall pregnant 3 times over the 12 months, but none of them sticky) we'd just keep going with it. It wasn't until the last m/c that he put me on gonal (injectable FSH). He's never mentioned a lap, IUI or IVF. I am giving the clomid another 2 rounds or so until I have my new FS appointment in August. It does seem way to long doesn't it?

AFM: I've finished the Primolut N to induce AF, so now I just wait for a very painful period. Hopefully will arrive on Monday so I can deal with the a=ouchies at home and not at work. 19 rambuncious 5 and 6 year olds don't meld well with cramping! I best be off, I'm supposed to be writing reports and I'm stalling (again!)
    Down but not out,
    Bec

Hi girls, thought I'd pop in and see how you are all doing. Keli, I'm so pleased to hear about bub! GL for the rest of your pg - it is a miracle and that girl at your work is a twit to think otherwise!

Now that we've broken the news to the world (I'm 16 weeks now) we also often mention about how long it took and how close we were to trying IVF. I think the more people who hear about the fact not all couples fall pg easily is a good thing. It's nothing to be ashamed of. All I can say is thank god for laparoscopies and clomid!

Thought you ladies might be interested in two books I have on ebay at the moment. They really helped me through my LTTTC journey and I would love them to go to ladies who have been on a similar journey to me. Check out 'Trying to Conceive' and 'Invitro Fertility Goddess'

Wishing you all the best and hoping that you all get your BFPs very soon.

Hi & welcome Mako. GL with starting Clomid & we will all be here for you - we all know the medication can cause hideous side effects. Hopefully your stay will be short.

Bec - I hope AF shows & is not as bad as last time - FX. My sister is a PS teacher (grade 5/6) and has two more reports to finish but then has to plan for the last fortnight of term but reapply for her job at the sae time as it was a six month trial.contract. Poor love is buggered but the tropper she is, is back at it tomorrow :S

Mez - So glad that you have popped in & 16 weeks - awesome hun! I'll look into those books. I have Taking Charge of Your Fertility which is good but I don't want to go back to temping so I am looking for other ways to enhance fertility & keep a track of it - IYKWIM?

A quick question - for those of you that had laps, how long did it take for AF to show? I am on CD 30 & feel like she is on her way but want to know if I should expect a longer cycle / wacky cycle?

Thanks for the welcome girls. Tomorrow is the day I start clomid and I'm feeling a bit nervous about it all. Its been a while since I was on it last and I didn't become pregnant while taking it but did O each month and it did help regulate my cycles so am hoping for something along the same lines this time as well as a bfp if that is meant to be. I just don't want the hyperstimulation and ovarian cyst this time round. Oh well I guess time will tell of what's meant to be. So wish me luck for the next however long its going to be. I don't temp or anything either. I'm trying to keep things as "normal" as possible for DH and I as last time things ended up feeling very pressured (as in when we NEEDED to dtd and not for fun or enjoyment) and its taken its toll on us in that area of our lives kwim.

Anyway I'm sorry for no personals but I have to be honest and let you know I haven't read the previous posts yet but I'll try to catch up on what everyone is up to very soon. I hope we see lots of BFP's in here and all in the not too distant future

wow Mez, congrats on being 16 weeks, must feel awsome.

Welcome Mako, hopefully your time in this thread won't be long and you will be posting a BFP. I know what you mean about being pressured, my last cycle I don't think DH and I didn't DTD as often as we should haave I think (sorry forTMI), but I didn't O anyway so wouldn't have made any difference. Anyway GL with TTC and FX you don't have to bad of side effects and you get a BFP soon.

Rhi and Porsche, best of luck with your IVF journeys hopefully you will get a BFP soon, and please keep us informed on your journey's, you're always welcome and it will be great to see how you are going.

Bec hopefully when writting this AF has started for you and hasn't been too painfull.

Hope, big hugs coming your way for the BFN, and like Rhi said, at least you know which step is next for you, so FX it works out ok.

AFM I finished taking my provera tablets on sunday so now just waiting for AF to arrive and then start taking clomd for 3rd time. DH is hoping that the side effects are the same as my last cycle which were nothing. I am too but aren't getting my hopes up. Well I'm off for a snooze before I have to go back to work, I'm on split shifts for the next 2 weeks (6am-9am then 2pm-6pm).

Babyvibes to everyone and hopefully we see some BFP soon.

Hey Rhi..... regarding you lap question...to my surprise my lap didn't affect my cycle at all. I had the op on day 8 and AF arrived on day 32, which is usual for me. And it was on the next cycle that we conceived, so I have my fingers crossed it will be the same for you. I got the all clear on my lap too, so I guess I just needed a spring clean, a reboot, and hey presto! MY FS said I should wait 3 cycles after the lap before trying IVF as he has seen so many women fall pg after the lap. GL!!!!

Hey Rhi, yeah I was quite similar to Mez, I got my AF early infact, it started about 2 days after my lap. I'm not sure if that is normal though, are you able to call your FS? Were you on Clomid prior to the lap? Do you normally ovulate without clomid? Maybe you will need drugs to kick your cycle going again. Even after my lap I still went back on Clomid and it was the 3rd cycle that we concieved. I have every believe that this is going to be your answer. Sorry about all the questions hun! GL Xxoo

Oh yeah....I should have said I was back on clomid for my first full cycle after my lap (the one we conceived on). I was only on 25mg though which was great as no side effects and happy to report no octuplets in my belly!

    Hey all,

Liz - GL for this month on Clomid FX

Thanks Mez & Keli for replying..... AF has 'sort of' shown today CD 32. I say sort of cos it is just the brown mucky stuff not red blood (sorry if TMI). I actually am under the care of my OBS/GYNO until I see the FS in July but since AF is here I won't bother to call him. About Clomid - I usually had a cycle of btw 28-29 days. I stopped taking it the cycle prior to my lap & haven't continued the reason being is 1. I just had enough of the side effects and I would have thought that if Clomid was going to work it would have in the 6 months I was taking it & 2. OBS/GYNO didn't give me another script when I saw him after my lap. He said he didn't want to prescribe anything incase it interfered with what the FS will want to do??? I O every cycle on Clomid (50mg) and according to the lap pics I got it showed I was just about to O.
