I just wanted to thank everyone on this thread. We were TTC for 3 and a half years and after 8 (horrible) months on Clomid we has success!!!!
During the 8 months on Clomid, I felt very alone until I read about people like myself who were going through the same thing.

We are now due to have our first baby in February

    Hi all

Havent got much time for a post but thought I would stick my head in and give an update re: our review appointment with the FS yesterday. DP did an andrology test and the results were really good so that is a bit of a relief. We have booked in to start IVF in February (antagonist and ICSI) so that's a pretty big step. In the meantime, I will continue with clomid. The big surprise when I was there I had a scan to check follicles. Although I was only CD13 I had a 20mm follie on my right ovary. In a nutshell, this means my follies are getting bigger earlier. I am about to surge (according to HPK) so it will be a weekend of BD-ing for us ; - )

Anyway, just a quick update - as I said.

    Write more later (or tomorrow)

    wishing everyone well x

    n2l
Sounds promising hun! Awesome news. When I had my scan prior to trigger the follie was 17 & they were happy to trigger me, so hoping the egg releases & you catch it! GL.

Hey JenniMac, Welcome to BB (unless you are posting under another name?) Congratulations on having success on Clomid & hopijng your pg continues well for the next few months.

Porsche - OMG I can't believe you still haven't formally announced! You are awesome at keeping secrets, as soon as we hit the twelve week mark - everyone knows! lol

WBM - Sorry I can't answer your Q but I did take Vitex for a little while but had no success, whereas my GF did. Not sure if you can take it with Clomid as well - you might need to speak to a Naturopath. In relation to upping your dosage, that is something that your Dr should be able to consider, but like one of the gals said, it isn't their speciality IYKWIM?

Shanshan - Sorry, I can't answer your Q. I hope one of the other gals can.

    Hi to everyone else.

AFM- Progesterone is 57 & they were umming & ahhing whether I should do another 'booster trigger' or not..... They did say it may make my cramping worse (I have lower minor abdo cramping ATM), so I am to do another trigger anytime tonight & back on Thursday for a pg test.

Hope everyone enjoys their w/end. Weather in Melbourne is suppose to turn nasty

    Thanks ladies!

I am definitely getting the referral and seeing I know what to expect, I don't want them to take a passive approach, I want the full hands on experience! Scans, blood tests and maybe even some trigger jabbing! I will demand that they do the all these things and work out WTF (excuse the french) is going on, because I am sick of the laid back "it will happen sometime this millenia" approach! *Takes a deep breath*

Okay, so those Sydney-ites - (in a Arnold Schwarzenegger voice) "who is your FS and what does he do?"
I have heard great and not so great things about Sydney IVF, but also heard that Westmead Private is cheaper and better?? ANY advice or experience(s) that you have to share is appreciated!! Thanks girls

Hey WBM - I used Dr Bowman at Sydney IVF - although I didn't do IVF, I had assumed that was our next step (he was the one who monitored me on Clomid). He is absolutely brilliant, not easy to get into though. I also have another friend who used him for her successful IVF baby last year - and she raves about him. My sister used Dr Alison Ghee (from memory), she shares an office with Dr Bowman. She has had two successful pregnancies through SIVF.
FYI - I have a friend who used IVF Australia, although she did conceive I don't believe they are as good.
    Good luck!

    Hi Everyone
Just thought I would pop in as I will be joining the Clomid journey next cycle as well. Have just had my first appointment with my Ob/Gyn and he has given me a script for Clomid to start next cycle as I was to late to start this cycle by the time I seen him. He did examine me and found nothing of concern at my first appointment and DF had his SA as well and his swimmers are fine as well. We are praying that the Clomid does the trick for us so I won't need to have my tubes checked, but if that's what has to be done for us so be it. Not sure what to expect with the Clomid, my DR has put me on 2 tablets a day from CD5-CD9 then a BT at CD21 to see if I O or not. Can't wait to get to know you all in here and hopefully give you all a bit of support along the way.

How does everyone keep up with all the news!? I have trouble keeping track of anything more than 3 posts ago! Here goes:

Pumpgirl-Congratulations! (sorry if im a little late!) and thankyou, it does give me hope!

RhiChiChi-I haven't found clomid too bad. It sux you had no luck on it, fingers crossed for the IUI. I have looked into IUI, just incase.

Becnxavi- hope your feeling better soon, i hate waiting to find stuff out!

N2l-Looks like you have a fun weekend planned. Let's hope it's a lucky one

ShanShan- I have a script for primolut, but i haven't used it yet. I actually had AF when i saw my GYN and he gave me the clomid script so i started straight away. I don't think the SE are that bad because he didn't mention anything about it to me, only clomid SE.

Wannababymumma- Good on you! You tell them. I hope you can get some answers asap!

Clairesmummy- Welcome, i have just started clomid. Advice (as from ladies in here) take them at night, then hopefully you won't get any side effects. Oh and use preeseed (sperm safe lube) heard good stuff about it,i am using it also. Good luck!

Phwew! I think thats everyone? Gosh i feel exhausted!

AFM- I called Monday for my BT results. My GYNO said my progesterone was at 13, but i was having strong pains a couple of days before my BT. He said that he is confident that i ovulated because i took my tablets late (days5-9) so it was probably late. I have also had lots of CM since Monday when all cycle i have had none, is that a sign? Im CD28 today and no sign of AF, but i have no idea how long this cycle will be either

    Good luck to everyone

    HI guys,
Porsche- I can't believe you've managed to wait so long to announce, but I get it! I'm so excited for you! ENjoy telling everyone

I can't remember who asked about primolut. I've taken it quite a few times, and haven't really had any side effects except for a more painful period. Usually it's abit lighter too. It's not too bad.

AFM: I still forget to ring and get my BT results, but I figure whaty will be will be, so I'm not stressing about it. I'll probably ring monday, becasue if I did o then I'll be finished TWWing by then and I can get a BT if AF doesn't turn up.

I'm still feeling awful so I'm offf to bed.
    Hope everyone else is well,
    Bec

been gone a while, but taking Chlomid now

    Hi Ladies,

I joined this thread a few months ago, and it took me this long to start on my Chlomid. Which I did yesterday, at night as recommended. Just jumping back in to follow along.

Congratulations Tammara. Were you told you were having a girl, I can't remember if you said you knew definitely or just had a feeling. It just goes to show that we never know for sure until they arrive.

Bec have you got your results yet?

n2l hope you had a good weekend that will result in your BFP

Mel can't really help with your question but maybe you should ask your specialist about it

Porsche how did the announcement go? You must be the best secret keeper ever.

    Rhi good luck for thursday

Tasha FX'd that you caught that egg

Pumpgirl I haven't started the resistance class yet as I have been away the last couple of weeks but I start this Thursday. Took a while to find music and then to get the timing right but I think I have it sorted. Thanks for your help.

Welcome to clairesmummy and welcome back bumbumg

To anyone I forgot sorry and hello

AFM CD 58, day 5 primolut. Had Dr's appt on Thursday and seeing as my chart was all over the place he did and internal US. Right ovary covered in lots of little cysts and a huge cyst in my left ovary. Started me on Primolut for 10 days to bring on AF, upped my clomid to 150mg for last try. I ahve an appt on the 23rd December to see if the last try worked. If not the next steps are Laparoscopy and needling my ovaries and if that doesn't work it is IVF. Dr didn't sound very hopeful either after doing the US.
Went to Brisbane for the weekend (Powderfingers last concert was awesome) and of course every where I turned there was pregnant bellies and bubs. After Thursdays appt it was a bit depressing and I was glad to get home.
Sorry for the gloomy post but if I can't vent to you guys who understand the gloom then I will just keep it bottled up until I lose it.
Thanks for the feedback on Primolut Bec, really not looking forward to AF now though, it is painful enough already and I don't know how I will function if it is worse. Doesn't help that i have had crampy stabbing pains for the last 2 weeks already and they keep getting worse. Also did you get a constant hot flush from it? I don't seem to be able to cool myself down.
Will be interesting to see if the increase in the clomid dose increases my SE. It did las time so if it happens again noone will be able to even look at me without getting their head bitten off, lol.

Long post sorry but it has been a while, (sorry it was mainly about me, lol)

GL to everyone in their TWW and anyone about to O. We really need a BFP in this thread.

    Hi Ladies

Tammara - OMG a little boy!!!! I hope you didn't do an all pink nursery lol. He might get a complex. Congratulations anyway. Sounds like you had a tough labour and YAY for the epidural. Gotta love the epi!. And 9 pound whooly dooly. A nice um healthy weight. Enjoy it while you can. And good on DH for being an angel. He must be proud as punch.

Bec - Ah if you forget to call, you forget to call. No biggy. So you call a day or 2 later. You do have a life and I'm glad it slips your mind because you aren't thinking about TTC 24/7 IYKWIM.

Rhichichi - When is your BT? Must be comming up soon? FX

Hi to everyone else. And good luck for your current cycles.

We did the annoucment over the weekend. Started by sitting the kids down and putting the ultrasound DVD on and asking them what they thought. So they are excited. We then went down the coast and told the BIL & his wife. And as predicted she wants to do the baby shower lol.

We then told DH's Grandma and one of his aunts and now the whole world knows lol. We hadn't even walked in the door at home from telling them and we were getting TXT messages lol. Cat's out now. Who's idea was that??

Tammara!!! A baby boy! I hope you weren't too shocked with all the drama, and are coping ok. I had an emergency c-section too, Xav was a whopping 10p 1oz, so I know it's not easy to come to terms with! But he's here and he's healthy and you are finally a mum. Awesome! Lots of love to the three of you!

Porsche- I'm glad the big reveal went well, and I'm sure everyone is so excited for you. It's great the kids are so excited, they will be a wonderful party of your pregnancy this time I'm sure.

Shan- now that you mention it, I did have hot flushes on the prim. It wasn't as bad as the clomid ones though! I am the same as you, I see preggo ladies everywhere! I went to a friends house warming on Saturday, and EVERY SINGLE COUPLE has a baby under 1 or a big preggo belly! I felt very odd one out! Soon that'll be us though!

BumBumG- I'm glad you're finally able to start the clomid! GL with no SE!

Hi Tasha, Clairesmum, and JEnniesmum, so I haven't formally introduced myself and said hello! Hope you're all going ok!

Hi Jules, Pumpgirl, how are you both going?

AFM: I still forgot to ring and get my results! I felt vaguely AFy today, so I might not have too! At least I'd know I ovulated. I have been sick as a dog since last Wednesday and I'm finally on the mend, so I feel like I can manage the phone call tomorrow.
    I'll keep you posted,

    Hey Ladies..
I hope you dont mind me joining the thread.

Ill give you a little background.. My DH and I have been TTC since June 2009. I have been diagonsed with PCOS, and have an appointment with the FS next Tuesday. At this appointment I am going to talk to her about starting Clomid...

I was wondering who is on clomid? and how you are finding it.. How long you have been on it?

Wow, I have only been out for a couple of weeks, and there are so many new ladies on here and just heaps happening. I do appoligise in advance if I don't write to everyone, as I need to get my head back into the game and catch up with what everyone is doing.

Well firstly a HUGE CONGRATS to you and hubby Tamara. A little boy, that is so exciting and wow no wonder he didn't want to come out. Hope you are enjoying motherhood

Oh Bec, that is no good that you have been sick. Get better soon hun. Are you still on your first IUI cycle or second, sorry been out of the loop for too long???

Mollie welcome, you are going to find the ladies on here a world of knowledge and wonderful support. I myself found the SE of my first round of clomid the worst, hot flushes, moody as and had lots of trouble sleeping. I myself only did 3 cycles as even 150mg on clomid didn't get me to ovulate. Best of luck hun and hoping you don't have to stay here too long.

Porche, so glad everything is going wonderfully with your pregnancy. And for telling the family now, it must have been such a relief for you now.

Shan, looks like you haven't had the best cycle this time, sending you big hugs and hoping that everything you have been going through will be all worth it when you get your BFP.

Sorry if I have forgotten everyone, but like I said it has been way too long between posts.
AFM I am half way through my TWW. To fill you in on my assisted cycle this time, I was jabbing for 4 weeks and went up to 150iu per injection. during different times through the cycle I had 2 follies that disappeared and thought that it was going to be it when I went back last tues for my scan as I still had no follies. The FS got me to do another blood test and when I rang that afternoon he had said that I ovulated OMG I OVULATED BY MYSELF. And then I thought oh crap it had been a couple of days since DTD, so off home I went and jumped DH (sorry TMI). Also as my LP is short I am on progesterone pessaries nightly until I go back for a BT next Mon. I am half way through my TWW and am starting to anylise every little thing, which is starting to make me a little batty and I know I am going to give in and do a POAS test, but as a POAS test might not be accurate with the pregesterone I'm having will just have to wait and see.

Well sorry for babbling on a bit, looking forward to more BFP's on here.

    Hi Ladies

Liz - Progesterone won't affect a HPT so if you did a HPT and it was a BFP you could take that as being accurate. It's only HCG shots that will affect a HPT as HCG is what a HPT will pick up in your urine if your UTD. Yay on ovulating by yourself. Was your FS not doing regular BT's to see your levels? I really hope you caught that eggie. Best of luck.

Bec - I'm sure if it was a no O they would have called you to let you know what to do????

Mollie - Welcome - The girls one here are a great wealth of information and support. Everyone is different on how long their FS likes them to stay on the clomid for. Most FS like to see you pregnant within 3-4 cycles but if your not then more invasive tests are ordered to see if there are any underlying problems.

I did 8 cycles all up and had 1 M/C. Good luck.
