not really.... my mum and sister have been giving me a hard time today about how my life is gunna stop cos i wont be able to afford ivf with the lifestyle that i live. and that i will need to sell both of our cars, and stop spending money like i do blah blah and is it really wroth it? i cant beloeve the nerve of people who have never even had to TRY to conceive...and that it has just happened for them naturally and quickly
don't listen to them Danni. They'll never know what you're going through, so you can't take what they say to heart. It's not easy, I know, but you have to have some self-preservation, and that includes tuning people out, even if they're related to you. Sometimes especially when they're related to you!
Danni - you'll read what i had to say in the other thread re your IVF journey, but i just wanted to add that although your family means well, they have absolutely no idea what you and Dale have been through, are going through and are about to go through, so, as Sushee said, don't listen to them. My mum tried to tell me the same thing when we spoke about AIH etc and i basically went from telling her everything that we were doing, to telling her nothing. It's the only way i've been able to cope with it all. About 2 years ago, before we started AC, my SIL (DH's sister who was 20 at the time) tried to tell me that we shouldn't have kids because there was no way that we could afford it and that we would ruin our lives by having one (this was after the m/c and she said that it was probably a good thing considering our financial situation). I lost the plot with her over that. Family don't get it unless they've been through it themselves, so if i were you, i would just not tell them anything....good luck babe, we're with you on this one....
Thanks for all the well wishes......everything seemed to go fine yesterday with my EPU.
We got 6 eggs (wanting more but hey who's complaining!!)
Found out this afternoon that 4 out of the 6 Fertilized successfully and are moving ahead really well. Possible ET on Friday or Saturday - the Dr's are wanting to get them to Blast stage - we'll see......
Cherie - was thinking of you the last couple of days - good news that all embies are healthy ones!!! I'm keeping everything crossed for you that both your little guys are sticky bubs
Hope everyone else is faring well.....Chat soon
Love Alex
Me again.....have an emby update.....
The embryologist rang me and told me that all are of good quality. We have 2 grade 1 embies and 2 Grade 2's. She said something about 1 being at a 6 cell divison, 1 at a 5 cell division and 2 at a 3 cell division. They have decided to grow them to blast so my ET will be on Saturday. Does anyone know what all this Jargon means??? Can anyone tell me wht sort of chance we may have - Oh my god - have I made the right decision to take them to Blastocyst???? Hope everyone else is keeping well - and sorry about the rambling - just a little bit nervous about what may happen......Talk soon
Love Alex xox
Hi all, hope you're all OK.
Alex, I'm guessing sushee will have the answers for you, but my understanding is that the Grade 1 embies are more likely to implant, therefore, you're doing great!
Danni - the first steps to IVF are BIG ones! Take care, both you and Dale. Only you two can know what's best for you - so turn a blind eye, and ear to other peoples' opinions. to everyone else.
Well as I suspected all was not well in my world. I ended up with OHSS. Think it surprised everyone, as I only had 8 eggs collected. Needless to say I feel horrible, and look about 5 months pregnant. Can't work, can't eat much and hating this part.
Gotta ring the clinic this arvo to see if I finish the pregnyl shots or not. Would it compromise the pregnancy (assuming I am) if I stopped now...still have 2 shots to go?
Anyway, hope the rest of you are feeling well.
Take care
Janee
janee, when's your bt, my sweet? May pay when you call today to see if you can get it done sooner rather than later....
Alex, your embryos are doing well! Cell division just indicates how developed they are, and grade 1 means low or no fragmentation, grade 2 is slight fragmentation etc etc. What does it all mean? Very little. A dividing embryo is a viable embryo, and if they're still dividing, they're still in the race to make it to blast stage.
Obviously the more divided, better grade ones are the ones they will be watching with the view to transfer, so the fact that you have 2 grade 1s at 6 and 5 cell at the moment bodes very well for Saturday!
Alex - yay for your lovely healthy embies, all the best for your transfer on Saturday. I'll be keeping everything crossed for you.
Awww Janee - you poor thing You must be feeling miserable. Take care of yourself my sweets.
Chookie - congrats on getting the job - you little ripper!!!
Well, I'm now at the stage of my TWW where I start imagining pregnancy symptoms lol ... heartburn, backache, frequent peeing etc. I promised myself that I wouldn't get my hopes up, so I don't know what I'm doing *smacks self on wrist*. I've actually got about 14 asignments/assessment pieces to finish within the next 2 weeks .. most are only 3-4 pages, so nothing too major, but enough that it will keep me occupied during my TWW, I hope!
Janee - you poor love - I hope you will be feeling better real quick - take good care of yourself.
lil_chhokie - well done on getting that job - can't wait to hear how you go on Monday.
Cherie - Hmmmm - the dreaded TWW.....I can imagine the agonising hours going by oh so slowly lol. Hope all goes well for you for two sticky bubs.
Sushee - you are a wealth of knowledge my friend - what would we all do without you Thank you for all your help I'm feeling a lot more positive about having to wait now - still hoping that my little embies will make it to blast - fingers and toes crossed
