positive pg test negative blood test

Godd Morning,

I am currently on my second IVF cycle and am due for my period today. i am off for my blood test tomorrow but was naughty and did a home test this morning. It came back with a

Now I know I should not be getting my hope up because the bloods may show no pg. Has anyone had a similar situation with a good out come.

i have read on many forums of people doing a HPT a day before bloods, with it being a BFP then them also recieving a BFP on the bloods

Hi Rachael,
I work in a path lab doing preg tests. Blood preg tests are so much more sensitive than urine, so if you got a positive urine result there is a very high chance the bloods will be the same. Fingers crossed!!!

congrats, it sounds very positive for you.

one of the mods gave these stats recently on how long pregnyl may remain in your body and affect the test outcome. so if you had pregnyl support during your 2WW it may be of interest but it sounds like you are a the end of your 2WW anyway.

"Pregnyl will leave your body at a rate of about 1000iu per day, so if your trigger was 5000iu, you can test on day 6 or 7 after EPU (though that's waaaaay too early to get a BFP, so why would you?) If you're using pregnyl for luteal support, then I believe it's usually 1500iu per shot, so you can theoretically test on the third day after each shot."'

the positive pg i have got doing IVF FET- stayed positive when i did my BT
If you haven't got your AF by the time you get your BT and you get a positive HPT- i would start to celebrate on the inside!!!
when i have got a positive a home - i have run the clinic and gone and got my B/T done a few days early. They first positive i got at 3 weeks 3 days and BT done at 3 weeks 5 days. The next positive I got at 3 weeks 4 days and confirmed at 3 weeks 5 days again.
However the only catch I can think of is that i din't have chemical support during these cycles as one they didn't do that protocol back then and the second one was a FET.
The medication that they give you for support during the TWW can mess with your mind and body. I saw when in doubt- ring the clinic

Thanks for the positive feedback guys. I am remaining very cautious at the moment because we have waited so long for this I cannot quite believe it. I have never had two lines on a HPT before. But i must admit I have not done a home test whilst on IVF.

Dusty- Thanks for the info! i am on Crinone once in the evening not sure if that can interfere.
