    Red face

Thanks Kazz, you made me smile.....and yes we should remain positve.
The hardest part for me is that I have only had one month in the last 8 where it could have been possible to get preggers and I just want to be given a fair chance. And its going to sound strange but I am having spasms and odd bits of cramping so something is obviously going on down there (their obviously having a party that i wasnt invited too) and dh told me he thought I had, as I had the same smell I had last time......why does it have to be so confusing???? Anyway it ok now.... I did get drunk, thursday and last night but it was medicinal obviously

Spoke to my gyno...he said he wasn't worried but concerned!! he is putting me up to 100mg for the next 3 months and then we are stopping the clomid, cos if that doesnt do it, its not going to work and we have to try other options.Im probably going to have crappy side-effects with this lot as well but if it works i'll take just about anything.

And as af isnt going to appear, i'll pretend i have had a 28 day cycle and start the tablets next week.........so again lets try for ovulation

On the lighter side....dh has won a reprieve from doing his test..I told him that if we didnt get pregnant this time he was being marched into the lab....ha oh well I still might just to put him under the microscope for a bit

Goodnesss its a bit of a rant.....apologies for that.

    WE WILL CONQUER THIS

Kazz I hope you have a great birthday

    Hi everyone.
Ellas mum: Im still tryin to adjust to my sil pregnancy but i think i am coming to terms with it.

I am just starting to think what my next option is after metformin and how long should i try on the metformin till i try the next option. If someone could tell me what the next option is after the metformin that would be great. The metformin just doesnt seem to be workin for me and it is a bit of a let down cause before starting on it i read so many ppls succsess stories and read about the great statistics. And it seems to be having no effect on me at all.
    Hi Kristie86,

I'm with you on the frustration of TTC. It's sad, frustrating, painful and depressing all at the same time. I hope, like me, that these feelings come in waves for you and are not there constantly.

I've recently started on Metformin too. From my understanding, Metformin is not an ovulation inducing drug, but rather one that can stabilise hormones enough to allow your body to ovulate naturally. This is only when insulin is contributing to the havoc of hormones. Sometimes it isn't enough to return natural cycles, but there are still benefits (such as avoiding diabetes, help with weight if it's an issue for you). I've read everywhere that Metformin works best in conjuction with a low GI diet and exercise (regardless of your weight) so maybe that's something you can look at.

My GP has started me on Metformin until I see my FS in September, who will hopefully start me on Clomid. There are numerous studies that show clomid and met together increase ovulation and conception rates, as well as lower miscarriage rates, so it's worth staying on it. You should speak to your GP about a referral to see a FS to take the 'next step'. Just remember with pcos, (in my case anyway) you have to have been TTC for 6 months before they'll step in with ovulation inducers.

    Take care and good luck!

Hi all, guess I am back here again...

HPT gave me 3 BFP's (2 on Thursday, 1 yesterday) but AF arrived yesterday, a few hours after the BFP, so i definately won't be buying that HPT brand again (dodgy Forelife Ultra).

Not looking forward to taking the Clomid again, though I REALLY don't envy you having to take 100mg lismith!!!!!!! I'm only on 25mg again. Fingers crossed that this time is the time for us.

    Good luck to everyone :-)

Had all the signs cramping, back ache, cm was perfect, temps were up and yes I even broke my drought and bought a opk and i had a positve yesterday and positive today?????? but am not getting ahead of myself until the I have a bt to confirm it.

So now im a little confuscious......is it possible to ov this late it will be cd26 and still get preg as I have heard the egg quality may not be as good? Do I need to increase my doseage now? so many questions and waiting for my fs to call me back and getting impatient.......maybe just maybe

    Hi lismith,

I've been watching this thread for a while. Thought I'd stick my head in an respond to your last post.

I've just had my first Clomid O - CD29. I started on 25mg for 5 days then had a BT and it showed my hormones weren't responding. My FS then upped the dose straight away to 50mg for 3 days (no luck). We then did 3 days again at 50mg still no luck. This last dose I did 50mg for 5 days and I O'd 5 days after taking the last tab.

I asked my FS about the late O and she said that its not a problem. That the egg quality will be totally fine. I had a BT on Monday which showed a good hormone response but no O (and my OPK was -ve). On Tues night my OPK was +ve (very unexpected) and then on Wed it showed I was O'ing! Its such a relief to get the O isn't it! I just wish DH and I had a bit more warning so we could have plenty of up there to greet the eggie. Hopefully its enough though. If I'm not UTD after this cycle then I'm to start on 50mg CD2-CD6 and see how we go from there.

for your BT and the 2WW. Sending you heaps of

I had trouble trying to find you girls, the July date on this thread kind of threw me off!!

Oh well, to tell you all a little about us, my partner kim is on her 6th cycle of IUI with donor sperm. We did get pregnant on her 2nd cycle but sadly lost the baby at 8 weeks due to a Subchorionic Hematoma.

We were pretty happy that it only took 2 cycles for kim to become pregnant, seen as how i had done 3 IUI's then moved on to 3 cycles of IVF. I even used kims eggs for one cycle and had no luck at all.

We are starting to get really scared that maybe the pregnancy in March was just a fluke. Kim had to have a D&C on April 19th and she didnt get AF until 6 weeks later. We had the chromosome tests and everything came back normal, and we found out that it was a little girl that we lost. Anyway we got right back on the horse and did a Clomid cycle in Jun, Jul, Aug and nothing... each time she had about 2 or 3 follicles. Maybe we have just missed the boat due to our age.

This time we did a combined cycle of Clomid and injectables for the first time. She took 50mg Clomid days 2-6 as well as 75iu Puregon from days 7-12. The ultrasound on wednesday showed 2 x 17.9mm follicles and 4 smaller ones and the doctor said that kim responds to clomid better than the FSH strangely. We triggered last night and go for IUI tomorrow morning.

Just looking for some support from other girls in the same boat as us.

Does anyone else have a problem with dizziness on Clomid?

Last night I had a real adventure lol, i felt like I was drunk, I would move my head and the whole world spun (:P I wasn't drinking or on anything whacky either! Just the Clomid lol!). It was actually a little dangerous, as I stumbled a few times in the shower. It was weird.

Well, today is CD6, so only one more dose to take, I guess that if I'm not getting dizzy on Sunday then its probably the Clomid.

This is the second cycle on Clomid, and it didn't happen last cycle. Its happening a bit today too. I'm not dehydrated either (I was worried it might have been low blood pressure). Very strange. Just wondering if this is something I should be worried about. It says "dizziness and lightheadedness" on the side effects thing in the packet, so I guess its normal.

It was just very very strange!

Other than that the Clomid is treating me quite well. Still get the hot flushes, but no massive headaches like last time. Heres hoping its ripening a lovely big eggie!! Or eggies!

Hi ladies thought I would share my joy.....I have just had confirmation that I did ovulate....so there you have it o at cd26....god damn my body gives me the run around. Had a BT 3DPO and prog was 50nmol and I have another one 9DPO (was supposed to be 7DPO but its the weekend)so hopefully it will be a little stronger then, i guess that is what they are looking for!!!!

So I am back waiting again for a little sign or af.....but I dont want to tempt fate and go the the tww thread so I am going to wait right here.

Hopefully now I wont need to go up to 100mg a day
for everyone.....cmon we deserve to have some good news in this thread.

Princiepessa76 - thanks for that, glad to hear I am not the only one who's body cant make up its mind.
Mumtwo - welcome were all pretty sane here ...well some of the time
Leasha - this thread teaches us that unless you are a freak nothing is the same twice in a row with this drug....it made me slightly woozy as well obviously created by men lol

lismith: we're al pretty sane here huh? Except when we're on the TWW, but that time just doesn't count right!?!! Hearing you on the side effects thing... if I have to take it a few more cycles I bet I'll have discovered some side effects they've never heard of lol, since I seem to just be running down the list and checking them off "yep, had that, yep, that one too, ohhh haven't had that, maybe next time..." lol. Congrats on your O too

Hope this month is the month for everyone!

Princiepessa: YAY! For ovulation! Now for the TWW lol
TwoMums: Hi *waves* I said hi on my TTC journal, but thought I'd say it again!

I wrote my post in the other one, so I won't repeat myself! Last Clomid tonight (woot!) and scan next Thursday, which is CD12, I told them...too early... last cycle I wasn't ready for the trigger until CD14, and had IUI on CD15, so theres no way CD12 is give any results other than the FS telling me to come back tomorrow!
Of course, they won't listen to me lol.

Oh, I had a question... should they be taking blood to monitor my hormone levels? BT in April showed I have elevated LH levels during luteal phase, and maybe soemthing that will impact on becoming pregnant? Maybe I should bring it up...?

Hi Leasha *waves back*.. Our doctor does at least one blood test on day 11 or 12, and he measures the Estrogen (level should be about 500 per mature folllicle) and he measures the LH (to make sure there isnt a surge immenient) and it depends on those levels as to when we trigger. He also measures progestrone (should be low, kims was 2 on day 12). Clomid follicles grow much larger than natural or injectables, so he really does rely on the measurements PLUS the bloods. I would ask for blood monitoring as well, just to be on the safe side.

    hi everyone,
tmi warning: Since yesterday afternoon whenever i wipe after goin to the toilet i have had a brownish red discharge. Not alot there is no need to use a tampon. So i thought af might be on the way but still nothing. I have been on metformin for about 10 weeks and have not had a period while being on it. So do u think it could be implantation bleeding and maybe i got lucky and ovulated? or do u think that af is on the way? it has been bout 12 days since we dtd because i have been really sick with the flu so is that to long to be getting implantation bleeding. And today i have been feeling really quesy in the stomach and really tired. If someone could give me some advice it would be appreciated. Im goin crazy thinkin this mite be our long awaited pregnancy but am not gettin my hopes up.
    Thanks

    Hi

This is the first time i have used this website. i was reading through the TTC section as my husband and i were trying for 2 years and finally worked.

Kristie, was on Metformin i must say i do not remember having any side effects or discharge. But then again it did not work for me. i found my DR was not that good.
The best thing i suggest is to contact your Dr and ask Him/Her. The quesy in the stomach i must say i had very offen during the TTC process. I also noticed you and your husband are very young. i was only 22 when we were trying and DH 24 i also found DR did not really care much as i was still young.

Hi everyone..... took my last clomid tab for this cycle, which could be my last....FS is on holidays!!!! So I have to wait for him to get back to decide my fate........Like October!!!!! I turn 39 on thursday and am starting to feel like an old bat already.....it's not funny.....At least I'm not in the TWW yet so I can have a few champers......

Leasha0986 I used to get dizziness the first 2 months of clomid then it stopped, I never fell over or anything, but you do start to feel a little bit weird to say the least....

Lismith25 The exercise machine is on it's way, and the champagne is a chillin......

    Hi Everyone,

lismith - Congrats on the O I hope it was truly spectacular. Good luck for your BT

leasha - Good luck on your next scan. Its very frustrating when health professionals don't listen. Its important that you have faith in your FS and trust that they know what they're doing but at the same time its your body and you've got to go with your instincts too and stick up for yourself. My FS monitors me via BT only. I had an ultrasound when I was originally diagnosed with PCO but none since. My last BT indicated that O was imminent and that's been it for this cycle.... just straight on to the 2WW. I've been temping too and I've had the temp rise so I'm sure the O happened. Also, of interest I was dizzy the first couple of days I was on Clomid and then not since. I wasn't sure if I was coming down with something or if it was a side effect. I kind of felt that weird dizzy feeling like I get when I have a hangover

Twomums - for you for a BFP this month

kristie86 - Your spotting totally could be an implantation bleed. Do you have any idea if you've O'd? Have you been using OPKs or temping? Have you had any ewcm? Maybe you should do a HPT. You could be pg or it could be just some hormonal changes as the Metformin is having an effect. Good luck

Me - This is the longest 2WW ever I'm only 6 DPO today. I've started imagining a few symptoms but I'm not out of control yet

    Exclamation

Hi everyone, just thought i'd pop in to see how everyone is

...im going batty waiting.............. I am now 10dpo with no obvious symptoms that couldnt also be from af heading in this direction....little bit of cramping and twinges, getting touchy.....something a bit different though I am having hot flushes...face goes bright red and then I go woozy and i have the most disgusting taste in my mouth...but i could also be delusional from the clomid

So was wondering if I could pick your brains....prog level 3dpo 50nmol/ prog level 8dpo 42nmol thats not good if its already dropping is it? though its hasnt dropped hugely....does anyone know how the levels work?

And does anyone have any suggestions on when I should bite the bullet and test...I keep reading that most people will show 14dpo is this right no matter how late you ovulate......aaahh its all so confusing, now I am going insane

    lismith:

They say that the progesterone peak is defined as above 15nm, so your levels sound good. I guess theres not much to do except wait and see what your levels do... if they're going to drop suddenly, they'll be doing it now (10-12DPO).

As for testing... did you get the HCG trigger? I would suggest waiting until about 12 days after the trigger. A positive should show around 14-16DPO (of course some lucky ducks get it earlier, and some never show a BFP until 5 weeks!).

    Sounds promising for the symptoms...

HI everyone wanted to share my news.......I have just had my very own, very first in fact I have had 3...we didnt believe the first 2 first responses......so dh made me buy a digital clear blue and it is still saying PREGNANT.The irony after 14 months and many hundreds of dollars on hpt's we now dont believe them when they show the 2 little lines lol.

We are still a little sceptical.... I am 13 dpo but we will no doubt take another hpt tomorrow and then have the blood test on mon to confirm.....I think im in shock , I really hope this is it Im kind of scared of this not being real. I dont really want to celebrate until the blood test comes in.

Now i know that this makes me look after a complete freak, after being so completely mortified that I hadnt ovulated by the cd21 blood test and bawling my eyes out at work and getting so catatonically drunk...so ladies there is hope for everyone.....

Kazz - I hope you had a good birthday
Leasha - Good luck with this cycle.....hopefully you will get your bfp soon
Princiepessa - Im sending you lots of hopefully we will both be successful this month
