    Another cleft Bubba?? Extra Vitamins??

Adam and I are prepared that Little Bubba has a slight chance of being cleft affected as well. Not by much, as the specialists determined ours isn't heriditory...
BUT will taking more pre natal vitamins help, or will my body only absorb so much any way?? Not seeing my doc for a few weeks yet..

I was already taking Multi Preg with Kane, and am still taking it now...

If Little Bubba is cleft affected, than so be it. He will be MY cleft bubba, and thats all that counts....( this is DEFINATELY our last!!)

So up the doseage, or will it not make a difference??
    Thanks folks!!

From how I understand it, there are sonly so many of each vitamin that your body can absorb. But when your pregnant, your body should be servig the babys needs forst - i.e. the aby gets the vitamins foirst and you get the leftovers, so when you increase levels, some of the increased amount will be for the baby, and some will be to maintain what you as the mum need as well.

Jodie, your body just wees out what it can't absorb.
Theres a recommendation on most preg multivites not to take over the stated dosage too. Not sure why, but they wouldn't put it there if there wasn't a reason.

Some vitamins can cause major problems to mum abd baby if taken in excess. You should not exceed the reccomended dose

I don't have any advice, but I've read in one of my preg books that anyone who has a history of (among other things) cleft affected bubs should see their dr as soon as they find out they are pregnant (fusion is believed to occur at around 6 weeks).
