WARNING - EMOTIONAL PREGNANT WOMEN AHEAD
I had my 1 hour GT on Wednesday and it came back at 8.5 (apparently anything over 7.8 you go for the 2hr test) but it's really freaking me out.
I am a healthy eater and pre-PG was on the lower BMI scale but I'm really worried now that the 2hr test is going to be high AND/OR i've read that GD can indicate potential for diabetes later in life, which i would never have thought myself to be in the risk group.
I've got to have the 3 day high carb diet prior to the test and the part that scares me is that alot of the stuff on there I would eat normally anyway, not the quantities it has but i usually have cereal for bfast, and a sandwich or roll for lunch and for dinner we either have a pasta/rice dish or a meat with potato and side of vegies. The quantities on the high carb diet are a bit extreme and i certainly don't eat that much daily but got me concerned now.
I just had a 26 week U/s and the lady told me baby is a little bigger than normal, not by much, but OB has put it down to last month I had a huge weight gain. This month was minimal as I think I pinpointed the culprit but now i'm wondering if it's GD that has made baby big but i just don't know about it yet.![]()
Sorry for the vent and the double up on the post as i know there is already one in the thread, which i replied to, but having a moment and need to vent. To top it off we lost our family dog tonight to cancer so it's not been a good week and I guess my emotions are running at full speed.

because it sounds like you really need one. From what I've read, a lot of people go over on the first test but are fine with the second one. Hope that is the case for you.

Even if you do have GD, it can usually be easily maintained. Good lcuk and hope it all goes ok.
