Im a first time user, never been on this site before. Wish i had known about it 18mths ago. Just looking to chat to people who are in the same situation and understand what its like. I struggled with all the ivf last year but wouldnt get involved in the forums for support because i didnt feel it was right. Quick history, had a tubal ligation when i was 22 after my 4th child.( really wish someone had suggested an alternative).I have since re-married and gained a stepdaughter as well as a husband. Did 4 ivf transfers during last 12mths, and now just had the reversal surgery 2wks ago. Would love to hear any success stories from you ladies.

hi nicnic5 welcome. i am sorry to tell you but my reversal was not so successful and i have 4 ectopics. this is only though because my tubes were cut and tied and with the reversal ended up to short. it has been 2.5 years for me since the reversal with only ectopics. The ectopics weren't all bad. i had one removed with surgery (1st one) then the others dissolved themselves. it usually just gives me a positive then the blood levels fall. this may not be the case for you so don't panic. i am looking to start ivf and hope that it will work for me... so what happened with your ivf?
mummy25, not sure about the budget. i went and had a look and read something about them indexing the fta payments for consumer index??? such stupid jargon huh. they never really say the truth. i just finished watching a really funny movie about politics with robin williams in it (man of the year). hows things going for you?
Hi luvchildren, i think the problem with my ivf was actully the clinic i went to. I didnt know anything about ivf when i started and was led to believe it would all be fine and would work quickly because i had been really fertile before my tubal. So we didnt do as much research as i think we should have and just went for the cheapest option. The clinic and all the dr and nurses were really nice, but i dont believe the lab was as good as some of the other more expensive ones. And i wasnt prepared for how emotionally draining it was.i feel like i have spent the last 16mths just waiting..waiting for the next app, the next cycle, the next blood test, the next ultrsound, the next transfer ect.. The main reason we decided to go ahead with the tubal reversal now was because i need a break from the ivf. Hopefully it will happen naturally in the next few months. If it doesnt then it will be back to ivf at a different clinic.
Have you tried any ivf yet? It must have been really hard coping with all those ectopics?
Hi Nicnic5 and welcome. Can I ask which clinic you went to??? I to had a tubal reversal back in 2006 and no luck at falling but there are 3 girls on here that i know of that have fallen pregnant and have had there babies now. As for me we decided to do IVF and were very blessed on our first go to fall pregnant.
Well girls still on BLOODY AF. Its crazy its like 5 days late now. So have to wait very patiently for my FET. Moving this weekend so i should be packing right now but oh well.

Hi mumofsix. I went to westmead fertility clinic. They were so much cheaper than the rest. Im feeling pretty positive about the reversal, but if we arnt lucky enough to have success, then we will try ivf again at sydney ivf liverpool with Dr Lok. He is the Dr that did the reversal and he is great. Thats excellent you had successs first time. What clinic did you go to? How long did you try for after your reversal before you started ivf?
Nicnic5... funny you say sydney IVF because the doctors that work there also work at Westmead IVF as thats where i had my IVF. We tried for nearly 12 months then i just could do it anymore. So westmead ivf answered all our . Now our little girl has just turned one and I just love her to pieces.
nicnic5, oh dear.... that is the clinic i will be attending to. yes the last 2.5 years of waiting were very hard, but i am a christian and hope in God to give life. So can i ask what happened at the clinic that made it bad?
mumofsix, yeah i did know some of the drs work from westmead and sydney. Thats how i found out there was a difference in the quality of the labs, my surgeon works for both.
luvchildren, overall i did like westmead. with the exception of 1, all the drs and nurses were really nice. 3 out of 4 of my cycles were fine, but my last 1 wasnt too good. It was a string of mishaps. They didnt do an ultrasound around the time i ovulated to check my lining.(they had with the other 3), even though i asked them too cause i had change some of my tonics and alternate therapies. They were meant to thaw 6 embryos, but without permission thawed all 8 we had in storage. They thawed them a day early and on transfer day we only had 1 very sad morula.(on day 6). The dr didnt use an ultrsound at all during the transfer and it was quite painful. Dr and scientist wouldnt answer any of our questions on the day, very rude and abrupt. But dont worry, all my other experiences there were great. And like mumofsix said, it worked first try for her at westmead. Just stay positive

Hi all just an update from me. I have my BT on the 1st of June and and ultrasound at the same time to see how the lining is going and then we just wait and see from there.

Anyway im now 13+4weeks prego ,i had my scan on Tuesday and everything looked just perfect it was so amazing seeing two bubs on screen.Baby "A" was 7cm and had a heart beat of 140 he was so cheeky just moving around non stop so im thinking he is a boy hehe,baby "B" was lying straightout and sat there perfectly quiet so im thinking she was a girl her heart beat was 147 mmm what do you all reckon??

Well im getting huge and just running out of breath most of the time gosh and i still have what 4.5 months to go.
Its so close now to my DD wedding its getting very exciting for us all,to be honest i cant wait for it to be over coz i just reckon its all to stressful.I havent gone dress shopping yet,so thats something i still have to do.Then just 3 days later we are all off to KL & Singapore & Bali i just cant wait for that more than anything hehe.
Oh another thing is i have my DS getting his licence in 2 weeks yayyy he can finally drive himself to school hehe.I have had 3 kids getting there licences in 4yrs Phew its all nearly over as it was my job to help teach them to drive so i will be glad to get rid of that stress.

Hi nicnic5....I think you made the right choice for you ATM coz i know how much stress IVF can be,when i first started i was always tossing between having the TR or IVF then i ended up going with IVF and was one of the lucky ones and fell on my first try but then sadly had a premmy at 5 months and lost him.I then went back and had three FET transfers and finally fell pregnant with twins but the stress getting there was at times just to much on me and my family.I remember my kids telling me mum give up its not working if it was meant to be you would still have the first bub that i lost (Shaheed) it made me more sad coz i didnt have the support,then on my last 2 embies i had to convince my doc to allow both to be transfered it was a struggle to get him to listen but i came in there with a plan and got my way and now im pregnant with my twinnies and just taking it day by day not getting to excited just incase something happens.
I reckon we will all fall pregnant so long we just dont give up.You must be still sore from the OP?

mummy25, I hope so. I read about the budget and became concerned that it would change. do you understand about the budget? and fta? does that mean we will have less?
Ofcourse they don't explain things so that we can understand. I will be looking to pay lots with that too. I am also glad that we can apply for the education cost rebates.
nicnic5, I have been disappointed with them too. I was told information and then they changed it. I know that mumofsix, was successful, but it would be good to see how many people have problems with them. not just that, but now with more people, comes less time and patients on clients and i am travelling from north queensland. thats why it is a real concern for me. Up here it costs 8 k and they do not transfer more than one embryo. I am just apprehensive about it.

dearmum, glad to hear everything going well. hang in there. make sure your eating well and getting all your vitamins! I was in the chrisitan book shop the other day and brought a book about a christian lady who had ivf. She had twins first and then had sixtuplets! you should see the photo of her! her belly was huge. of course its american. It was interesting to read about the bubs moving and having no room.
Luvchildren: I dont understand it much either (the budget) we do loose family tax money but only if your family earns less than 40,000 per year I think and it is not much soemthing like $18 a year we loose per child...

the handouts they gave us were great and they helped my family alot when we needed it most but Im not looking forward to paying it back (and we all will somehow or another, oneday??)...
Im planning on starting ivf in late july early august If I manage to pay my van off by then.
I had to go to the JHH (hospital) today for my son's specialist appointment for his ? add, and when i got there I could not park my van Grrrr it is an Imported van its very HIgh and very very long (bigger than a tarago in both height and length).
I couldnot park in the carpark as my van would not fit underground (too tall), I could not park in disabled as they would have fined me (been there before $450 fine )
so in the end I parked in the 5 minute spot and explained to security when entering that I could not park anywhere else and they were ok with that.
when I got in the hospital they told me I was one week early for my appointment (WHAT???) anyway they were great and said we can fit you in (THANKYOU!!!)...
I was sitting down feeling like such an idiot for taking him one week early when a man walked in and said he had an appointment, sorry said the lady you are next week, What a day EHHH but at least I was not the only one who thought today was the end of the month....
so he has now seen the doctor and he wants the school to fill in some paperwork On his behaviour so we see him again in 1 month....
Drove home and ran a red light (miss DD aged 4 was having a tanty because I refused to buy a decoration pillow for her bed (not at $15.00 I said)....
got home and recieved a letter in the mail from his school saying DS was on suspension warning for his behaviour.....
GRRRRR WHAT A DAY............................

I seem to be having lots of them lately.
Ive been so busy packing and cleaning and i just hate the hole thing.
Truck comes on sunday so it will be full on.
We have been doing trips each night just to take over all the boxes and small things just to get them out of the way.
I pack and the kids seem to come behind me and unpack.
Starting to get abit nerous about transfer.
Just worried they might not survive the thaw. We only have 2 shots at this.
Just don't think i can be as lucky as I was with Breah.
Like everyone keeps saying...frozen isnt as good as fresh!
To much going on in my brain at the moment and I need to take a chill pill.

DF went garage saling today and brought me back a coffee table, he was so proud that he got it for only $40.00, and Im like UHH hmmm okokkok... (thinking YUCK when can we get rid of it???)
its wooden which I like but it was two glass panels in it on either side and looks like something from the 70's..... ebay here we come.....
Luvchildren, North queensland, thats a long way for ivf. But it really is so much cheaper. Where abouts are you? I have family in cairns and i go up there once a year for a holiday. i love it there.
Dearmum, Im so sorry about your baby boy. Im glad for you that you are pregnant with the twins, but i know nothing can replace the one you lost. Im sure everything will be fine this time round, but i think i would be taking it one day at a time too. Which clinic did you go to?
Mummy25, I also have a son who is adhd. He is dyslexic and has an audio processing disorder aswell. I fought the diagnosis from the time he was 4, and now he is 12 we have accepted it and he is on medication. He is more of a challenge then our other 4 put together! lol.
mumofsix, Moving! Yuck! i certainly dont envy you.lol. At least it will all be over in a few days and things can get back to normal.
