Very sorry to hear that....
My m/c pains were like baddish period pains, but nothing at all like labour pains. That said, everyone has diff experiences. I was told to wait a few months more for the emotional side than the physical. I would go to the hospital if you have any queries. Pity about your GP. If only they knew the support/advice etc that was needed at this time........
