I am sorry for your loss darling Woman...
Most often for an early loss it is really for dating the pregnancy which is a moot point now with u/s. A lot of "older' docs will say 3 months. Really unless there is a medical condition or an incomplete miscarriage the reason usually is for dating purposes.
Basically you will not ovulate if you have any HCG floating around.
It is always important to follow your care providers advice - but ALWAYS question the why's and what if's. It isn't possible to answer you conclusively.
FWIW I conceived 2 pregnancies the very next cycle after an early loss - I had no period in between. However they were early losses (6 ish weeks) and were complete miscarriages.
