    toilet steps

Does anyojne here have the little contraption that is a little platis toilet seat attatched to a step so the toddler can climb up and down the toilet by themselves?

I saw these in Kmart toda and was thinking that it would be quite a novelty for Archie and might encourage him to use the toilet instead of potty.

    What do you all think?

Yep, we've bought one and plan to use it shortly! We're going away this weekend, so plan to start when we get back

DH put it together the day we got it and DS sat on it. He keeps wanting to use it LOL.. but I'm holding him back because of going away. heh.

We have one, and it does work in that Jack can climb up by himself. But I think if I was to do it over again I'd buy the steps and toilet seat separately. DS seems to find the seat uncomfortable and has red marks on his bum after sitting on it. He will use it most of the time but sometimes refuses and insists on using a "normal" toilet. You can get replacement toilet seats that have a kiddy seat attached, or you can buy kiddy seats cheaply from any baby section.

Yep we used one, Matilda likes to use it when doing poo's but she doesn't like it for wee's. She is confident with it now but prefers to just use the toilet.

I had one for my first son and we both hated it so gave it away.. I never felt he was safe using it and he mustn't have either cus he would always hold on to us with a death grip

We just got an insert that goes under the seat and a nice wide stable stool from the $2 so Yasin could get up.
He still prefers the potty - probably because the loo is up a flight of stairs but the potty is only a few steps away usually.

I've got a padded kiddie seat which you place over the hole in the normal seat (DD can easily do it herself) which has pads underneath too, to protect the toilet seat from scratches, which has little handes on each side for her to hold onto so she feels safe. And a little plastic loo step for her to climb up on. In fact she prefers to fling herself up by swinging on the sink and the first time she saw the step she brought it into the livingroom, turned it upside down, sat in it and said "bath". I had to pull it off as her bum got wedged. LMAO!

We used to just sit Zander on the toilet & he was fine. Now since deciding he has to "do a wee like daddy" aka standing up, he has a little step to stand on.
