I would like to get into selling them (so would DH seems that was the line I used to be able to buy the sewing machine & snap press!) but there seems so much cattyness between the WAHM who already make MCN's I am a bit scared to jump in. I am going to have a go at making to sell MM fleece covers (like whatI made Linz's) just waiting for the material to turn up.

I need to borrow a newborn to make sure my sizing is right.
LOL. Maybe I can line up a few testers. I think if I do get into selling them I am not going to try & make a living off it just do it as a hobby that makes money so would rely on word of mouth rather then people actually looking to buy a nappy made by me. I would rather keep the price realistic & personalise the nappy for the buyer then to mass produce them.
Linz & GiGi are the only ones I have made things for sofar.

FJ - I haven't experienced any cattyness from other WAHM's. I find that if you respect the others and let them do their thing while you do yours, all is well and good In fact, one of the most popular WAHM's in Aus has been emailing me with encouragement and suggestions, despite me making the same nappies as her. It's not about competition, it's about you doing your best for the customer.....just my 2c. So good luck if/when you venture down that path.

FJ I have seen some of what you're talking about. You've been adjusting and refining your design for months now so I don't think you've got anything to worry about and if someone did challenge you then you've got the work and the proof that you're designs are you own. You aren't copying anything!

Personally after reading some of the comments elsewhere has totally put me off buying anything from those WAHM's.

Cat it's brilliant that you're getting so much support from someone who one would think to be a competitor

Yeah it is the idea that someone might jump up & say "You can't do it that way, thats how I do mine!"
I also have heard about one WAHM being really nasty to another over night nappies. The designs where very different but the one thing they had in common & the orginal WAHM flew off the handle about it & that was just over the materials used!

I am going to jump in the Shallow end with some MM fleece covers. That should happen in the next month. Just waiting on a few more supplies to turn up.
