Hi ladies you are all such an inspiration.. O

I had my bubba (Ronan) at 27+3wks (born 17.3.06), length 37.5cms weighed 1140 grams at birth and he is still going strong.. He is now almost 32wks and weighs 1684 grams as of 3 days ago.. He has been on CPAP for 8 days now and is coping really well.. His only real setback is that he had/has a PDA and has had 2 doses of endomethasin (sp?) but that last does finished 2wks ago so im guessing the will do an echo soon to see if it has closed more.. A pattern is starting to emerge as he now only seems to desat when the nurses touch him, rather than being constantly up and down!

I have to say whilst it is hard to bond with your bubba whilst in NICU i haven't found it disheartening.. I know he knows my voice because when i open his crib and speak to him he twitches and stretches and his oxygen level goes right up to 95/98 which is where he should be at all the time..

We have been able to hold him 3 times now and it's so special although it is hard to feel comfortable when you have cords running down your legs.. Our method is that we are lucky to be able to see and hold him so we don't push the nurses too much.. If he has had a good day they ask if we want a hold otherwise we just pop in to see him.. There is plenty of time to bond and i am patient..

It has been awesome reading all of your stories and you are such fantastic mothers.. Thankyou for letting me read into your prem experiences..

If anyone is interested Ronan's website is in my (www) which is updated daily..
