Mrs Mc - congratulations on your baby boy's birth!
I understand that feeling well - when you explain he feels like he belongs to the hospital. I remembered with my other baby's I was very very protective of being the only hands that touched her'/him exploring their little bodies. With a prem it's so different.
Something that helped me is that I reminded nyself that Imogen was still gestating. That she wasn't supposed to be born and this was an extension of her gestation.
When I took her home I loved just looking at her naked, snuggling skin on skin etc.
The time will come darling woman when your little boy will be home and he will feel like yours. Slowly slowly. For now lean on us here for support when you need it.
Life in the NICU can be difficult at time. I always had to remind myself that DS was in the best place he could be. It helped me get through some days by being as hands on as possibly.
If you are based at TCH, the staff there are amazing and very accomodating. Let them know your daily movements so they can adjust "cares" around you and insist on reguar kangaroo cuddles.
Hugs to you and healthy growing vibes to your lil' man.
Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions.
Connor is coming home early next week (YAY!!) and since he's now a full term bub size and doing so well, we have spent a lot more time snuggling without eyes watching us (hising in expressing room or kitchen) and I definitely feel a gorgeous bond between us.
