I TOTALLY agree with lyra stardust. The white kingparrot bassinet looks super! I hate frills, too, and this one really ticks all the boxes. It comes in white (my fave!) dark brown and light wooden colour. Have a google!
sorry just saw the question about the pram attachment too. Well I have read that you are supposed to have good airflow around the baby to reduce risk of sids and so a pram is not the best for overnight sleeping because it has solid sides and so reduced airflow... but I suppose it depends how "to the letter" you follow the guidelines. Moses baskets have solid sides too don't they. Personally with my first baby I wanted a nice bassinet and also followed every single recommendation to the letter, so I bought one! I feel with SIDS it's worth following every guideline as much as you can to reduce the risk, but I know of friends who aren't so particular. It was $120 and now a friend is borrowing it, and we'll use it again for 2nd baby I hope, so I felt not too bad. Do you have any friends with one tucked away in the garage that you can borrow?
We had the mothers choice coco delux for DD2. It was always commented on as it looks gorgeous. We never had an issue with breathing as it is so roomy which was unlike the moses basket type basinettes I'd used in the past. DD2 was in hers for a good 5 months or so as there really is loads of room.
For the next bub, I want a cradle. We have enough room for one in our room and the one I am eyeing off is just gorgeous.
So, if you're anywhere near Newcastle, I will be happy to let you borrow or buy (very cheap!) our coco delux
I'm not a fan of the frilly ones either.
We were thinking of putting bub straight into her cot but now i'm thinking for breastfeeding etc maybe it will be easier to have her in our room so once again we are considering a bassinet.
I went and visited a friend the other day who has just had a bub and she has a really nice bassinet, it's made by Kingparrot. It's wooden and the bassinet part is a meshy material, was around $180 she said.
It was a fairly simple design but maybe worth a look
Hope this helps
