DH doesnt like the Ikea chair. So we are off to the baby stores tomorrow to look at highchairs (and to buy!)! LOL
Will definately have to have a massive play with them all! Its been so long since I had to look at this stuff, im not up to date with the latest gadets for babies! (DD is 9yo!) And I cant for the life of me remember what hers was.
I do love the look of the Chicco Polly H/C - DH does too. So we may come home with one The reviews are pretty good too
Well I asked the same question... few years ago. Everyone raved about the ikea one. And I, in my infinite wisdom thought.. .nah... they're just saying that. It doesn't look THAT good. It's pretty basic. What if he climbs out? Dammit, I need some bells & whistles!
So, I bought a Chicco Polly cos it was lovely & padded (but all plastic, very cleanable right? ), and it reclined (which I wanted for my little bub at the time). And you know what? Once he started solids, I got sooo sick of wiping out the folds & cracks. Sure it's plastic & it wipes off, but it is a total PITA. IMagine you've tipped an entire tub of yoghurt into the guts of the chair, now imagine how long that takes to get in & clean. And when you're doing it 2-3 times a day... you soon hate it. And honestly, DH won't be the one doing it, you will. So once I realised how totally annoying it was, I went and got the ikea one (or Target now have something very similar for basically same price). It's awesome. It is so much easier to clean. 2 seconds, quick wipe, tray can go in the sink (if it's that bad).
So your choice, good luck. I really hope you don't make the same mistake I made!
I had a padded bells and whistles high chair and then got sooooo sick of the constant cleaning that I bought the Ikea one and my life changed, from spending 10 minutes every meal time to 1 minute. I love it. Good luck with your high chair shopping .
