Thought I would share the items that we will be buying too (thanks for the idea Victoria). I find it interesting to see what people prefer as it has helped me choose as well! Even though I'm not UTD yet - my reasoning is "If you build it, they will come".

Pram: Bugaboo Cameleon in Denim, cup holder and alternate covers (Off White and Red)
Nappy Bag: Oi Oi Morroccan Print in Midnight
Car Seat: Safe and Sound Meridian in Oxford
Furniture (Cot, Change Table, Toy Box, Cradle): Boori in Walnut (very dark Chocolate Brown)
    Recliner: Carnaby Recliner in Raisen
Clothes: At the moment we have an equal amount of 0000 and 000 but from now on we will only buy 000. My feeling is that we will have quite small babies though (I was 5lb6oz at 38wks and DH was 6lb1oz at 39wks)! Plus my Mum is a mad shopper so there is no point in me buying too much stuff!
Play Mat: Fisher Price Rain Forest Mat ($79 down from $99 at Myer)
    Rocker: Maclaren Vibrating Rocker
Swing: Fisher Price Baby Papasan Swing
    Carrier: Baba Sling in Navy
Bedding: Caden Lane Bedding in Taylor (for a girl) or Hudson (for a boy) - these are from the US

Just need a little bubba of my own to put it all to good use now!

LOL oh boy do I feel unorganised now! Feature walls and colour cordination!
Here I was thinking my nursery was complete because it has a (brown) cot, (blue animal themed) change table and (white) rocking chair LOL! Oh and a few baby-fairy jigsaw puzzles mounted in frames on the walls, a a $2 butterfly mobile from the reject shop!
But then I felt silly even organising a nursery when we will be co-sleeping for at least 6 months, so I'm pretty surprised I've got this much done! Oh and a carrier and pram and nappy bag and car seat etc. Hasn't even cost us $1000 to set up the nursery! Although I'm betting I've forgotten something important LOL!

Ours won't be completely co-ordinated, but it doesn't worry me.

We have DD's cot still, so that will be getting used, and a chest of drawers. DH is planning on doing a built in wardrobe hopefully around christmas time.

We have a change table with the built in bath, mainly to help me out with not having to bend over after my c/s. It has slide out drawers, so we will be stuffing it full of creams, nappies, singlets, towels etc when it is eventually set up. We haven't even seen it yet as it is still in the box!

Colours.... we have figured that we will wait until bub is a little older and can pick out colours etc. So for now we are using one of the colours ( a nice light silver) that we have used throughout the house and will paint one wall in a pale blue as the feature wall. On this wall we are planning on putting a sticker from the walls of the wild australia website (the baby orangutuan hanging from a tree branch, if anyone googles for them) and will paint a cloud or two on the wall as well. hopefully we can put the change table beside the sticker, so bub has something visual during bum changes.

Curtains are pooh bear, which I had made years ago for DD at a small fortune, so will definately be using them again. They have blue through them, so should hopefully match with the silver walls they will be against, plus they are thermal lined.

We also have a pooh bear table that DD use to sit at and draw and do arty crafty stuff at, which we will try to squeeze in the room as well. If it fits, we plan on getting some nice boxes to sit on top, and will fill with any spare creams, wipes etc..

Might have to get one of those hanging toy nets to store toys in for now? Haven't given that one much thought?

I have to finish cleaning out the room - still has some of DD's stuff in it. once we do that DH has to take the cupboard downstairs (he is pulling it apart and using the timber for woodwork) move the drawers out of the room, plus the spare bed and pooh bear table and then he can start painting! He is so excited about finally being at this stage with only a few weeks to go!

    Hi everyone!
I'm happy to announce that our Nursery is done! YAY!!!!!!

We went for a dark green feature wall in suedue effect paint, the other walls are cream, we've put up two beach colour floating shelves, my rocking chair and change table(Baltic colour) are assembled and our Basinette is in storage in the room till bub arrives. Hopefully my cot(Baltic colour) will be in in the next week or so, once it's up We'll be off sheet and mobile shopping thinking of going a wild animal theme as there's alot around at the moment.

Thanks for all the advice and help without it i'm sure we'd still be lost!

Best of luck to all those planning your nurserys!!!

Mellie, we didn't have much cash with the last two monkeys and I'm determined to do it this time, if I don't I'll never have a nursery, alot of my friends have been picking up some good bargains on ebay so'll be having a look later! We were renting when I had my son as we we're building at the time so he never got a nursery and his room is still a nightmare, gotta find a toy solution for him! Thanks for your imput!

Our nursery is still not properly set up and our bubs is 3 weeks old!!!!

The cot is still on layby but we will probably pick it up this weekend. He's sleeping in his bassinette by our bed so it's not like it's urgent. We still have our old computer desk in his room (got to get rid of it) and all his gifts and clothes we've been given that don't fit yet are scattered all over his room. Trying to get it all under control by this weekend. The only corner of the room that is organised is the change table. Let's face it, that's got to be organised.

hehe, yeah well my plans didn't go to plan, I thought I had plenty of time to get organised, but little miss decided to arrive more than 6 weeks early throwing all of our plans into dasarray!!

We got the car seat fitted a week after her birth, she didn't come home until day 11, we picked up our Bugaboo - finally, 2 days before she came home as we are using the basinet for her to sleep in.

We have ordered the cot, chest of drawers/change box on top, Mali Euro, they should be here is about 6 weeks, but no huge rush.

We have presents everywhere, as she came 2 days after her baby shower and then we got reshowered with gifts in hospital. House looks like a bomb has hit it but am hoping to get some sorting out done today!!

We also didn't have any clothes to fit her - 1 x 0000, everything else was bigger, so the family had to go out and get a heap of 00000 and 0000, she will be in the 00000 for a while.

I have paintings to hang, I have packed all the bigger clothes into boxes for the meantime until the new drawers arrive, as we wont be needing them!!

Hmmm anyone free to come and help me

Hey there! I thought I was organised but you have outdone me by a long way!! I am going to be trying to conceive hopefully before May next year and I have already got a few things like some clothes (they are all neutral colours so I figure it isn't that bad), a car seat (which I use because I'm a nanny), a pram (for the same reason), a nappy bag and a couple of sheet sets, but that's about it really! You are definately very organised and I think your baby is really going to have everything it needs! Good on you

Hey kitty_kat - all of the clothes we have bought are neutral as well - which is why I have stopped buying!! I figure that as soon as we have the baby they will be kitted out in either pink or blue and I will barely use the neutral stuff!! I did, however, buy one of those bonds easysuits in pink for luck as we both want a baby girl when the time comes!!

I figure that if I can't have the baby right now - at least I can shop for him/her - it gives me oh so much pleasure!!

Hey Amysarah - haha, what are you going to do if you have a boy then?!

Yeah I guess you are right about them being kitted out in either pink or blue, but still not everything has to be those colours once they are born, I'm sure you will still make good use of at least some of the things you have already bought! I have bought quite a lot of clothes, cuz they are just so cute and I can't resist them, but then everyone says how much stuff you always get given at baby showers and when the baby is born and everything so I'm sure I am going to end up with moutains of clothing! But that's ok!

Yeah tell me about it, I loveeeeeeeee going baby shopping! It's one of my all time favourite things now I think! I have been trying to stop myself though because I feel a bit stupid for doing it when I'm not even pregnant yet, but since you are so far ahead of me I might just have to do some catching up! hehe!
