Only an independent midwife (or doula if you get one in combination with medical care) can provide all of those things.
Not true, and please don't fall into the trap of saying that the way you received care is the only way to get your needs met. My public hospital middies were fantastic during birth, they blew me away with how supporting and encouraging and nurturing they were. My husband also. I had every single one of my needs met. I'm glad you got your needs met, but birth support is a "horses for courses" type thing, and one model does not fit all.
