That confuses me. You can't seperate your actions and you. If a dog bit me, I'd then be scared of the dog, not just the bite. And just because a human being will still love and seek comfort from someone who hits them, doesn't mean they're not scared that if they do the wrong thing, they will be hit by that person.

I mean, each to their own, but personally I don't want my child to associate my presence in their lives with being hit, like they do with their dad.
