Unfortunately I can name waaayyyy more crap than smug, so here are just a few...
Smug...
DD is just the most lovely little girl in the world. She is gorgeous to look at as well as gorgeous inside. She melts my heart.
DS1 went the whole night last night without a nappy!
DS2 can make me smile even if he's being a little **** head!
I always get comments on how beautifully behaved and well mannered my children are in public. (Unfortunately that behaviour doesn't carry over to in private!)
I have BF DS2 trouble free for almost 8mths. And I love it.
I have the most kind hearted and considerate DH ever. I am more in love with him now than ever before. He rocks my world.
I am lucky enough to be a SAHM.
Crap...
My children are allergic to sleep. All of them. Last night I was up 10 times to them. I kid you not.
My DD is the.biggest.whinger. And a tattle tale. I know it's an age thing too, but she's always been such a whiner.
My DS1 will.not.eat.dinner. Ever. I can't remember the last time he ate any bit of a meal I have cooked him, let alone all of it. He would have been a baby.
I don't get enough time alone with my man to dote on him and give him what he deserves.
The everyday battle or monotony and boredom I am having from being a SAMH
I'm fatter tahn ever and hate it.
I will stop there....I could go on and on!
Smug...
DD loves singing and she could do the actions and sing her own version of Twinkle Twinkle by about 5 or 6 months old!!
DS has a great vocabularly and can talk really well
DD goes to sleep sooo easily!! I just say its bed time, she walks to bed lays down drinks some of her bottle and closes her eyes and goes to sleep in about five minutes!!!
DS is such a sweetie and I love how he says I love you all the time and is really loving towards everyone
Both my kids are just adorable.. lol like, really they are!!!
Crap..
DD is starting to really throw some juicy tanties!!!
DS is smart, but whenever I try to sit him down and go through numbers and counting or letters he starts mucking around and being silly, I havent found the way he learns yet and Im afraid he will be like that in school
I have only gained weight since having kids.. I have lost a tiny little bit recently, but its nothing on what I gained!!!
Oh and DS will not eat dinner.. dinner time sucks at the moment!!!!
OK... I'll give it a go...
Smug:
DD is gorgeous. She's been sleeping through the night since she was about 4 months old (2 1/2 months corrected age!!)
She's got a beautiful smile, can clap, say what sounds like 'hello', Dada, nana (which is mum), lala.
She can wipe her eyes with her feet. AND!! Make it look easy.
She can sit by herself for half an hour.
And my little girl survived a life threatening birth defect.
Crap:
She is stubborn. Very very stubborn. If she doesn't want to do something, you've got no hope.
She's a shocking teether. The neighbours know when she's teething!
She was prem and it affected our breastfeeding relationship, resulting in her going on to formula when we came home from hospital at 6 1/2 weeks
My body is ruined, my boobs, hips, a few on my belly, bum, thighs and CALVES and are stretched because I gave birth to a massive 3lb 12oz baby! lol
Unfortunately that's all I can think of for crap.
Smug: My DD sleeps 10+ hours every night.
She tells me when she wants to go to bed by giving me her bottle and saying "bot bot"
She talks very fluently and knows how to say "whats that?" "who's that?" "mumma what doing?" "pup dog" "call daddy"
She dances with me to my music and even sings along.
She has the most beautiful big blue eyes
Crap: DD won't eat real food and still wants up to 4 bottles a day
She still has an umbilical hernia and may require surgery
Because she does have much hair she is often mistaken for a boy
Often have to argue the fact I AM her mother!!
Couldn't give DD a sibling and she loves babies (beat myself up about that all the time)
My belly, sides, thighs and hips are covered in horrible stretch marks from pregnancy.
My belly skin sags and have to wear shapewear to hide it and be able to wear nice clothes
I suffer from anxiety and the smallest things set off an anxiety attack (we went into the city to have lunch for fathers day, DP picked a place that id never eaten at and the food was different from what id eaten and i didnt want to eat there, it should have been a simple no but i had a massive anxiety attack)
Love this thread!
Smug: DD2 is totes the best talker I've ever seen for a 2yo. Everybody comments on it, all the time, I really enjoy it
Crap: They're eating potato chips for dinner and watching cartoons while I work on uni stuff. My bad.
Smug
DS1 can identify a frog by its call.
Crap
He can’t wipe his bum.

Smug
My kids are awesome!
Crap
Everybody thinks they turned out that way in spite of our parenting because they believe there is no way our parenting would work![]()
Great thread PZ!
Smug:
My 23 month old DD is fully toilet trained18 months with out any knickers
She is a sweet and caring little girl who boobie feeds everything!
She can count to 10 and knows 6 colours
DD has the most beautiful manners
Crap:
The kid DOES NOT sleep! (she slept thru the night from birth until some big developmental leaps set in)
She has her mothers temper when she gets frustrated
She will not eat when we are out places, like today been out from 8:30- 4pm and would not eat a scrap of food!
Smug: - Very soon I will have 3 children in school.
Crap: - 3 children in school means I might have to find part time work
Smug:
That despite all the warnings I got for carrying my babes too much, co-sleeping feeding on demand and being gentle I have two fantastic, well adjusted little humans to share my life with. They are willing to believe in themselves because I do.
That same gentleness has shown my DH who previously had polar opposite parenting beliefs to mine that gentle parenting is the way we want to go forward together and he's so amazing in the stuff that he's learned and how he wants to show the kids.
That DS is happy to BF his babies
That the 6weeks of teething that each of my children went through to get 20 teeth each before 13months old went to prove how wrong my ILs were about their teething starting at 4 months
I am doing my very best
I found this site 6 years ago and it has shown me the type of parent I can/want to be
Crap:
I still have days where the wheels fall off and I don't feel like doing my best any more.
I've just dealt for 3.5years with Night Terrors with DD....and now DS has started but they more like 'you ain't seen nuthin yet....' (on the smug side though, my DD knows exactly what they are and what to/not to do)
Smug:
I have BF DS1 for over 3 years and still going and tandem feeding both of them for 20 months in 2 days time!!
Boys get along well at times
Kiss and cuddle each other lots which is cute
DS1 amazes me every day with his speech development eh has come a long way since we were told to see a speech therapist over a year ago!
DS2 is cheeky and funny
DS1 went into a bed no trouble at 25 months
Both use an ipad and iphone with ease getting in and out of apps and videos they want
Crap:
DS2 bites DS1 and pinches.
DS1 not interested in TT
DS1 wont eat any fruit unless puree tubs apart from bannanna
DS2 wont eat any fruit apart from purree tubs apart from bannanna and strawberries.
Neither are great at eating vegies
DS2 wont sleep in cot
Smug:
DD1 is doing well at school, pretty much top of the class with reading, writing, maths
DD2 is out of night nappies!!! She was also brilliant with toilet training herself well before the age of 2.
Both girls are great little artists (now see crap point)
Crap:
The girls bring home way too much artwork, we are drowning in the stuff.
DD1 takes forever, and I mean forever, to eat it. It is so painful to deal with and then she is hungry 15 minutes later (really has not changed since a baby)
DD1 still wants me to wipe her bum (unlike her little sister)
DD2 wont sleep through and comes to our bed too early and just wiggles (would not care at 4 or 5am, but midnight is getting too much)
Both girls fight over music at night
SMUG
Both of my girls are generous, kind-hearted and accepting of other people
They've both got rhythm! AND know how to sing and dance and enjoy it!
We spend time together doing family activities and enjoying our time with each other
CRAP
Sometimes I'm a shouty mummy. And sometimes DH is a shouty daddy.
I failed somewhere with DD1 because she shovels her food like a 19th century pig farmer and *still* wipes her nose on her sleeve sometimes
DD2 watches more telly and eats more junk food than DD1 ever did at the same age
Smug:
DD is kind, considerate and generally thoughtful of others
She loves playing the piano and is doing very well - even starting to make up her own tunes
She's curious about the world and loves learning
She's polite and well behaved, all our friends think she's a pleasure to have around
Crap:
She can be opinionated and a bit of a know it all
She has a short attention span and is easily distracted by other kids
She hates following instructions at the best of times
Smug:
DS3 is 21 months has a vocab of over 600 words.
He can count to 10, and 20 but all numbers between 13 and 16 are 'T-teen' as he can't quite pronounce them yet lol
He can recognise all the letters of the alphabet, and tell you what words begin with some letters.
He can find about 35+ countries on a world globe (one of his favourite games since his uncle showed him Australia when he was 16months old).
He has an awesome memory and will randomly start talking about things he did or people he saw 6 months ago or more (his memory is better than mine!)
He can navigate my smart phone, to find photos, watch videos (mostly of himself and his brothers) and call people for a chat.
He loves babies and tries to kiss cuddle and look after them.
He can't quite manoeuvre the mouse but will show you exactly where to scroll or click to get to what he wants to see on the computer.
He also has a great sense of humour
He is still breast fed at 21months, I stuck with it after a painful rocky start and it took about 2 months to become easy but we're still going strong!
Crap:
He has never slept well at night, although we are now down to between 4 and 6 wakes a night which is an improvement.
He has a super short attention span, he generally has never played on his own for more than 5 mins MAXIMUM. He requires constant attention and entertainment, which means my house is scary messy/dirty most days.
Too often for my liking I am cranky and easily frustrated![]()
