    Hi Everyone

    Happy due date day Courtney!!!!

I havnt been on here for awhile just preoccupied with the boys and being at home. Wyatt was sleeping for a few nights but has gone back to waking every few hours and Zander still has a cold that has been lingering for over three weeks now...he went to the doctor but they cant do anything just said to keep an eye on it. Havnt heard back from Ellen Barron Centre in Brisbane so not sure if we are going to go now. I have been feeling flat the last few days I think it may be hormonal.

Anyway I have a boring weekend ahead..no plans

    Bye for now

Nicola, I was wondering where you were. Sorry to hear Wyatt is not sleeping again and Zander is still sick. Poor little man, how dreadful!!

I am impatiently waiting for Speedbump to surface, literally!

No plans for the weekend except to catch up with Mum and Dad.

CourtRach - wow! I love having my 'daddy' come to visit. And I too am such a 'mummy's girl. My parents split years ago, my mum lives here in TSVL, my dad up in Port Douglas. We visit him quite a bit.
I can't believe I didn't notice how close you were to your due date!

I am happy to do Fridays, normally because it's payday I'll go directly to the shops and buy stuff I don't need. And then get cranky at myself for spending my 'allowance' and not have any dosh to go out the next week. Though yesterday I bought a new vac for upstairs, my DH doesn't understand why we need two but HE doesn't have to lug one up and down the stairs every second day!

This weekend we are doing a HUGE transformation on our yard. We had tree loppers in this week, and they cleared our back corner. My DH is making a huge "adventure playground' for our kids with sandpit etc so we can finally move all their playgyms/swingsets/cubbies down there! YAY! I, of course, will be supervising from the back patio. Because I am a girl. And it's a 'blue job'. And I am a woossy pants....

Hope everyone has a great weekend too, with children that act SO politely and nicely, and play together like the Brady kids, and not make any mess or scream or yell or have tantrums... (We can only hope, hey?)

    Wink Hi!

    Hi Guys!

My names Ruby and I'm 21 years old, I have a 13 mth old boy named Nicholas and we are currently living in Mount Isa, but my partner just got a job in Townsville so we will be moving there in the next month and I was trying to find a playgroup or mothers group we could join?!

Also, I've been looking at houses, is there any T'ville suburbs that I should avoid?

Hi Ruby. I don't know Townsville all that well as we moved here in December so I can't help there unfortunately. We will definitely have to organise a meet when you arrive!

    Ruby,
It really depends on what 'streets' to avoid, generally all suburbs are ok bar some streets in Vincent, Rassmussen & Kelso are a bit dodgy. But you'll be able to tell when you get here. We live in Kirwan and it's pretty ok. I think you take a chance anywhere in this day and age. Do you have a dog? (Big, furious, drooling?) lol.
Will def have to organise a big 'yummy-mummy's doin' the park' meet up when you arrive!
CourtRAch -any movement at the station??

Ruby - I went the other way. After living in Townsville for very close to 20 years I moved to Cloncurry when my partner got a job out here.
As MissWingBat said - its more the streets in certain suburbs that you need to avoid. And certain parts of certain suburbs are a bit scarier than others! I do agree about Kelso and Rasmussen and some certain streets in Vincent but also some streets in Heatley are good to avoid. Some suburbs are much pricier than others and I really can't see justification in some of them. But - have fun and enjoy Townsville.

MissWingBat, still no movement other than using me as a climbing frame. Have a hospital appointment on the 14th so hopefully will get an induction date as I am so over it and this little one is not coming of its own accord. Just like his/her big brother!!

Hello hello HELLOOOO to newbies & oldies & in betweeners (me?)
CourtRach - BABY???????????? Happening yet?? My bubbas went 2 weeks over so erg!!!!

IS anyone up for a meet this Friday morning? Or would you like to get to know me a bit better...

I'm 28, SAHM, bit crazy (just loopy and excited like a puppy somedays), I love to paint, love to read, (don't get to do alot of either activity with kids), I have brown-ish hair, I'm a Scorpio (passionate, loyal, vivacious), GSOH (really, really kooky humour - I'lll laugh at anything!) I like long walks on the beach... he he. Sounds like a singles ad!

It is just so hard to make friends when you have kids. I see other mums in shopping centres with kids my kids age, and I feel like walking up to them - but what do you say? It's not like at school. I tried Mothers Group years ago, but I was very young and impressionable, and I really felt my self esteem as a mother took a bit of a beating. But now I have learnt that I AM who I am, everyone raises their children differently, all children are different, and that is ok.

It is just so easy to slip into a bit of a rut as a SAHM - as in literally, STAY AT HOME. I should be aiming for "Getting Out and About and Making Friends, & At Home Legend Lady".

I would like to take a gander at Lollipops, haven't been there yet and my little man is busting his gut to RUN RUN RUN JUMP SCREAM RAAAA!! My ma normally drops in Friday mornings, but she's away for 2 weeks so I am up a certain creek... without a paddle... I would love love love to get out on Friday.

I have to get going and clear up the yard, we got a new, very naughty puppy... ERg... ("But he is SOOOO CUTE!! He is soooo cute he just won't chew up a thing!")

Hope all u ladies have a great day and a laugh at my singles ad...

Hi Ladies i havent posted in here for a couple off days so thought i better stick my head back in and say HELLO ...How was everyones weekend? Mine was great, i had a really fun time, i ended up going out Saturday night and i drank far too much (that probably sounds bad, as i am a mum) but its the first time id been out in way over a year and i had a wonerful time until sunday morning, the last time i was that sick from drink was like when i was 16 LoL.
Hi Emma- Yes got my car washed Lol spent like an hr doing, dried it and everything looked great, woke up sat morning and the dew had hit it ...
Miss wingbat- love the add hehe sometimes it does sound like a personals site...ha ha..for lonely mums..
Nicola- how did the interveiw on friday go?
Shauna- my dp is defence i wasnt aware they had a mothers group :S
CourtRach- Hows things with bubs going, any movement yet?

I live in Rasmussen have since i was a grasshopper, just started renting out own place bout a year ago, rent is dear considering were i live but am in a new house! This can be a bad area "sometimes" but everywere can be just as bad! I think it will depend on were u want to be situated and were you find a house you like, good luck!

Mummy 19.... OMG if your a bad mum from having one night out then i should be in jail!!!!! I love being a mum, just love it ( okay sometimes it does get tedious but geeze hubby works away i have 9month old twins and 8 and 5 and i study with no family and barely any friends only who ive made on here) but i find you have to seperate being a mum and who you are as a person to truely be happy and maybe even a better parent, well i find i am a much better parent if i still do the things that made me emma, that define who i am and if its drinking at pub and dancing all night, studying or going to the gym then ill do it... but my kids never miss out.
Everyones different but Ive never let the kids rule my life. I know that might sound bad, but im a much better mother for it. they have all the love, attention and toys they need to be good kids...
main thing is you had a good night babe, and by the sounds of it you did!!
geeze im rambling here, ive had one to many mint slices and i think i may just be a tad hypo!!

Hey Emma i totally agree with you, kids can really change the person you are if you dont take control! I dont think its wrong for a mum or dad to get out everynow and again to have some "time out" just as long as your kids are in good hands and happy then i think its fine! I just hadnt been out in so long, tried 2 weekends ago but got anxiouse and backed out hehe! So made myself this weekend and it was so fun! I dont no many people anymore but i caught up some some old school greats so it was wonderful! I just no tho, that you do have some mums (i hope i dont offend anyone) but some women thing its completly WRONG to go out once you have children and say its "selfish" "childish" etc and that ****s me, because kids doesnt mean your life is over, it means you life has major changes but everyone needs time out...hope i made sense LoL and now im blabbing on grrrr..sozzy...
    any ladie on msn?

Gee whiz, go out for a morning shopping and come back to a full page to catch up on.

Still waiting on Speedbump. Not a cramp, niggle or any darn thing to indicate s/he is interested in saying hi to the family. Talk about being way to comfortable. All I can say is the hospital better give me an induction date on Thursday as i am so over being pregnant!

Hi Shauna, welcome. I have been here since Dec last year and being a Melb girl, really struggled with the humidity. Enjoying the cool nights now though!! Haven't been to Geckos yet, we go to a playgroup in Riverside Gardens.

Nicola, poor boys. Has Zander just passed the cold on or does he still have it? Good luck with the interview Friday.

MissWingBat, we love you already LOL!

OK, I am up for a meet on Friday. Of course, that is if the little bundle of mine doesn't decide to make an appearance finally. How does Lollipops sound? 10.30am? This is a selfish thing for me as it means I don't have to chase Cooper around a huge area and its closer to home so no toilet break stops! Anyone interested?

no i dont think its selfish or childish at all... maybe getting drunk and arrested might be..... now that could be a issue! hahahahaha....
its all good so long as noone gets hurt... plus i love getting out and dancing the night away.. i cant dance though but i try pretty hard.. plus i like to fall over and get bruises... ( i dont really i just always end up that way)
i had my dd when i was 19 and i was that mum who never went out and did everything text book and it didnt get me far at all, i learnt with my 2nd that it was easier for me, dh and everyone else if i still had a life, not always drinking but playing sport or bingo or whatever.. i hardly go out nowadays but if it was organised id be in!!
haha.. man im really having trouble concentrating today, ive hit a road block with my assessment.. ARGGGGG...
might eat some more mint slices!!
