just wanted to pop in and say hello to all you beautiful girls, i'm still watching your progress, i just haven't had chance to post as we've been in and out of moves since kristian arrived, with the final one happening this weekend, so i'll hopefully be able to post a bit more after this weekend.
you are all doing so well, i know the crazy lady likes to come mess up your heads, but just try and tell her to get lost, she's not welcome!
welcome to all the newbies, its so wonderful to see you all on this rollercoaster, just getting here after what you've all been through is inspirational in itself, its a big step and a scary ride so just hold tight.

I know I said I was going to come in and contribute more and well frankly I haven't, but I promise there is a very good reason for that.

Kate was born on the 20th July at 7:37am (38wks to the day) weighing 7lb 4 1/2oz

I hope everyone else is going well.

Klee - good to hear from you and give that cute little Kristian a huge hug.

KAM - good to see little Teyha's ticker going forwards.... very cool. Hope you're taking care of yourselves.

KAM - congratluations on the birth of your little princess Kate. Hope all is doing well. Take care of yourselves.

Starbright - good to hear you're healing well after your c and that Kaleisha is going well.

Beata - I love the new pic of Cameron.

Laney - thanks for the info on Grayson.... I think bubs is now lying transverse for me.... we have ordered a cot and bassinette and pram and I have bought some sheets and blankets. But need to get some sheet protectors.... Will ask my MIL to make some baby friendly and themed curtains... so I guess we are taking some steps for setting up a room. We have a fair few clothes of all different sizes which I am going to pack for hossy today and my bags as much as I can, just in case.

No extra special plans for Nicholas angel -versary. I agree it's so hard. I try not to plan them, just in case all I feel like doing is crying at home. The good news is DH all on his own initiative has taken Wednesday off. I will ask him in time whether it was to be together for Nicholas's day or just coincidence. I agree about not changing the day for your scan .... it ill be stressful and anxious for you leading up to the date, but just imagine how glorious it will be to get good news? I have my fingers crossed for you.

I just by accident discovered that the Australian Breastfeeding Assn runs breast feeding courses for expectant parents, not for just once bubs has arrived. I am going to go to one.... hopefully I can get DH to come along. It's only for a couple of hours one Saturday. The more info the better I reckon, given that both bubs and I are going to be new at it all.

Teni - 5 weeks! Awesome to see that little ticker progressing.

Cindee - congrats on being back here. We must have overlapped in here on our last pregnancies as I see your DD is 17.5 mths and mine is 15.5 mths. Like you, this pg for me was a surprise too :)

Dory - I highly recommend doing a BF course! My private hospital ran their own that I went to before DD was born and it was SOOOO helpful. I would have been a bit lost without it but as it turns out I successfully BF for 12 months before DD decided she had had enough and self weaned. So much cheaper and more convenient to BF if you can do it!

Laney - I just wanted to say I'm thinking of you today on Parker's special day. I'm probably a bit early for your time zone but it is the 27th here as I write this. I hope you have a peaceful day and if today is the scan day, I hope that catching a glimpse of your new miracle makes today extra special xx

dory, movements start to changer after 30 weeks. Bub runs out of room and the big kicks stop. You get more rolling movements.
I would say to take the BF class as well. I didn't take one while pregnant and I didn't last long feeding Grayson. I think I might take a class this time around as well. The nurses in the hospital are also a great help.

klee, i hope things calm down for you soon. Moving has to be difficult with a newborn.

AngelLukesmum, Yay for feeling sick! I know it is horrible but a great sign!
Thank you for thinking of us on Parker's angel day. :hug: It really means a lot because most people don't want to remember it.


AFM, MY SCAN WENT GREAT!!!!! bub is measuring a bit ahead for dates! I really feel so much better (for the next day or two).

Laney - thanks for the tips on movement - I have noticed there is more "rolling type movements" rather than big boots. Bubs still manages to get a boot in to my bladder! Awesome news about your scan glad it helped. When is the next one? I think you said weekly?

AFM - feeling much chirper today, although was light headed early this morning. On reflection the 3 hours or so from 4 - 7am was probably as a reult of being hungry... but it's hard to feel up to eating at 4am. Just took one of the cats to the vet - he had a weepy eye, and was keeping it closed. The start of an infection apparently... no damaage to his cornea which is good. He's just on some antibiotics to help clear it up. Poor bugger had to have his temperature taken.... given where the thermometre went, he was exceptionally well behaved. LOL the other cat at home was very interested in his butt when he got home.

Angel Luke's Mum - thanks for the tips on BF. I am hoping to be able to BF for at least 6 months, but hopefully more. Sorry to hear abot the m/s - but it is a good sign... as long as you're not too sick.

Cindee - congratulations on your pregnancy, even though it's a sneaky one... hope you're going well. How are you going with dealing with the crazy lady?

Congrats Kam on the birth of Kate.

afm - had my NT scan, all went fabulously well, nuchal fold is only 1.7mm, so really thin. I had been debating as to whether to get the blood test, as I know I wouldn't get amnio or cvs and def wouldn't terminate, so based on the excellent results, am not getting the blood test.
They did an internal ultrasound, looked at the scar tissue (which is thicker than average) and the cervix length as well (this is 4cm, is that good for 12 weeks).
Bubs was so cute, my friend and I were nearly tearing up. I am so relieved.
Got another scan at 18 weeks.

AngelLukesmum and laney thanks for remembering us, its nice to see some familiar people.. oh yes AngelLukesmum i did sort of bypass you last time having miss miranda 3 months early.. had her in feb09 and was due may 09... things seem ok so far been bit queasy, which is normal, not telling anyone yet thou may wait a long while....see how things go.. DH lost his father just recently so was a big blow to everyone..

I had a scan yesterday and the cervix measured 50mm! OMG - I didn't expect it to get longer! Last measurement was 20 and before that 30, well the ones I remember anyway. I have no chance if I don't write it down...

8 more sleeps til my hospitalised fur baby can come home and rejoin our family.... cant wait for special pussy cat snuggles.

Butterfly - the Obs was impressed today and he was similarly surprised. It seems laying around doing not a lot worked for me... oh and where possible a once a day soy chai latte. Maybe it's just a difference in the detail in the ultrasound equipment? Or maybe I am just a freak and it has gotten longer.

Wow Dory that is VERY impressive! Especially as from about 28 weeks my ob told me its pretty common to start shortening in preparation for labour. I never had any measurements done after 28 weeks with DD seeing as it had remained stable after I passed 24 weeks. Good work you! :D
Is your stitch permanent or will it come out for labour?

Butterfly - great news on the NT scan! And yes, your cervix measurement is great!

Cindee - how is Miranda going after her early arrival? Is there a chance this bub might make another early arrival?

Laney - congrats on a fantastic scan with bub the other day. Wonderful news.

AFM, nothing new to report. Still feeling sick and lost all my breakfast this morning down the sink ugh. Poor DH has been off work on long service leave spending quality time with DD and since I got sick and then pg, he has been doing everything around here including all the pooey nappies as I retch everytime I get a smell! He is back at work in just over a week so I am dreading having to take care of everything again! I am a lucky girl having such a great DH :loveshower:

Dory - Umm maybe I'll try the Latte ;)

AngelLukesmum - wow, your dh sounds amazing, lucky you. Hope you cope when he is back to work, the morning sickness shouldn't last too long, mine has just gone at about 12 weeks.

afm - people are starting to notice my belly now, as I am normally really slim (56kg), so it's obvious something is going on, although i am at that stage where people I haven't told daren't say anything in case I am just getting fat :ROFL: I kill myself laughing at the sly belly glances, you can see the cogs ticking :D
MS seems to have gone :hooray: stopped eating like a horse, feel a little bit more normal again now.
Wish this cold would leave the building though, keep pulling my tummy muscles coughing, not to mention nearly wetting myself if I have a big coughing fit :tmi:
After leaving you all with that lovely vision, I'm off.

AngelLukesmum: yes miranda is doing well she has another check up next week to see her developmental growth , she'll be walking soon shes cruising around furniture pretty fast.. its quite possible that it may happen again,, naughty maternal bp.. my longest pg was 36weeks and that was for my 15yr old, liam was 35 weeks, angelica 26 weeks, and miss miranda 28 weeks, so id say the odds are high but id just love to make it past 30 weeks.....(fingers crossed)..

Jo, sorry to hear the m/s is still there!! The pooey nappies would make me sick too! lol. Have you tried the Blackmores m/s tablets? I took them and they worked wonders.

I had a scan today and everything looked good. He was practicing his breathing and doing everything that he should be. I am on weekly scans now so it should help keep the crazy lady away. Bub has been having a few quiet days this past week :(

Butterfly - you had me chuckling with the furtive glances to your belly but people being to scared to say something.... LMAO....

Laney - glad your scan went well... so when next week do you have another? Bubs for me is still breech. Still plenty of time to turn, so I am assuming one of the positions that the middie told me about to help turn baby by giving baby more room... DH is now in on the act and left for work today with a reminder to me to do my pose, and to keep in the right positions.... LOL I was wondering when he'd start to get clucky and protective. He told me last night ( after our first antenatal class ever) that he was in fact really excited. .... I have to remember not to rain on his parade too often, as it is pretty cool for him to be excited.

AngelLukes Mum - the stitch is planned to come out at 38 weeks.... eeek... I was hoping 37... but Ob prefers 38. One of the reasons I prefer 37 is..... well this is embarrassing... but DH and I have a fantasy of breaking the BD'ing drought with one attempt before baby arrives, but only after the stitch is out.... LOL. 37 gives us more time in theory for the great love in. In reality I don't care, just as long as bubs stays snuggley and well for as long as possible.

Beata - do you remember when Cameron was two weeks old and at least for me it was sooooooooo exciting and now he's 4 1/2 months old?

Dory - I had to laugh at your post about wanting your stitch out at 37 weeks and why...I wanted the same thing!! My ob did 38 weeks as well though and I ended up induced that same day so so much for that plan LOL.

AngelLukesmum, Grayson is doing great. He is running around like a wild child and starting to talk a lot. He is also starting to test his boundaries which has been very difficult for me over the past couple of months. I am starting to get very worried about adding a second to the mix. It should be interesting!

Cindee, did you have your first appt. this week? So great to read that Miranda is doing well.

Dory, You still have lots of time for bub to turn. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Good luck with your BD'ing....it sure can be difficult to get comfortable enough to enjoy it at 38 weeks! :)

AFM, I have a scan every Monday! It is great but very difficult with Grayson. We are starting to think about getting another room ready. Just thinking!
MS has actually started to return! It did around this time with Grayson as well. I feel horrible and tired. I hope it passes soon.

Laney - Every Monday will be easy enough for me to remember..... sorry about m/s returning. I have heard when it returns it's usually not as vicious?

You were right - at my appointment and scan today baby had turned. I had thought so as there were no more kicks to my bladder!

I know what you mean about "thinking about getting a room together". DH and I have been getting lots of stuff but still have yet to set it all up. My excuse is I am waiting for the fur baby to come home and settle in before his whole world changes again. But if I am honest with myself, it's just a sign of my fear.

The locum obs today said if labour starts at 34 weeks and beyond that no steps will be taken to prevent it. That is totally mind blowing for me... imagine not trying to stop labour, as had been the case for me in the past. Blimey this gestation will really need me to change my thinking.

I was all up for a big chat, but in my belly buddies thread, one of the girls posted that one of her relatives babies was born extremely premature and didn't survive, and it just took me back to my own experiences. Always the unexpected reminders huh? Actually reading it kind of floored me and I was back experiencing my own grief in the blink of an eye. I need to go be with my memories now. One more sleep til the kitty kat comes home.

had first ultrasound done mummy and baby are both healthy just what i wanted to hear but bp has shown its ugly head very early so had to up my meds, otherwise things are good so far

Yay Cindee, congrats on a good 1st scan! Not good news about your BP though sorry to hear that.

Dory, it is horrible when you hear news that has the power to take you back to the darkness :( I hope you are feeling a bit better today.

AFM, I saw my ob yesterday and I am measuring a little ahead so I have updated my ticker. Always nice to fast forward some of the pregnancy! We had a big discussion and booked my stitch placement in for the 7 Sept. I can't believe how fast this pg is going compared to last time! My ob also wants me on rotating ABs this time around which is new as last time I only had some when I was in the hospital on bedrest. This time he wants me to take 5 days worth, have 2 weeks off and then start again, continuing through until about 32 weeks. I start after the stitch goes in and not really looking forward to it as I remember the flagyl from last time and it isn't very nice on the tummy. Have booked my NT scan in 3 weeks time and will see my ob again that same week before the op at 13 weeks. Feels good to have a plan in place for now as once we get past 19 weeks it is a little out of our control as to what might happen...

Dory - wow nearly there Hun. That's awful about the premmie not surviving. I have just been through a doula client losing her Bub at 25 weeks, it does bring all the grief back again.

afm - saw the Ob on Wed, all still good. had a quick reassurance scan from the registrar, she tried to hazard a guess at the sex of bubs, I think that was a waste of time, I tried to tell her boys and girls all look pretty much the same at 13 weeks. I will wait until the 18 week scan to find out.
Getting sick of having my appt's in the local cattle market/hospital, it is so busy. I have to walk so far from finding a parking spot to the hossy and then wait on average 2 hours to see the dr, so asked if i could see the Ob's at the smaller hospital up the mountain, Ob said he visits there once a fortnight, and he will see me in his lunch hour :clap: I can then park with relative ease, go into a nice waiting room, grab a cuppa and be seen within the about 15 mins, much happier.
As far a MS I am feeling great, seems to have gone, this preg feels different to the others, so it may have a winkie this time after having a run of girls ;)
I was naughty the other day, saw a almost new bassinet and stand in the Op shop, it was so pretty, and after what happened with my daughter, refused to buy anything early again, but it was so reasonably priced ($40) and money going to a good cause (cancer council), that I bought it. A really good friend of mine is going to keep it in storage for me, then if anything goes wrong, I don't have to face it again.
Got my booking in appt next week, unfortunately back down to the cattle market again.

AngelLukesmum - It sounds like you have a very busy moth ahead of you, know wonder this pregnancy is going so fast for you.

ButterflyForever - That's horrible about the "cattle markets" as you call them, I bet your relieved to be able to see your ob instead, it should make it so much easier for you. It's just a shame there isn't anywhere else you can book in. I hear you about not wanting to set anything up, we didn't set anything up until after 31wks (the time we lost Isabel) this time and DH still had to push me a little. That's nice of your friend to look after your bassinet until you need it.

AFM - Feeling a little guilty this week, I forgot the 1yr anniversary of our 3rd baby's due date :( , and feeling a little akward about coming back in here considering.

Cindee - awesome news. If you don't mind me asking - what is your BP? I was really worried mine would be high especially with the restrictions on my activity levels, but it's been really really good. 125/75 which is higher than it was.... but not too bad for pregnancy. For a while there a few years ago it was 140/90. Yikes.

KAM - oh sweetie - don't guilt yourself out. I decided that after this year, I wasn't going to focus on EDD's as I have a few to keep track of. As well as the actual angel-versary and EDD's then I would be spending 7 months out of every 12 being potentially plunged back into active grief. So next year I've decided it's only the angel-versaries I will direct my energies into. I will see how I go. I don't this you disrespect your angels by not focusing on each and every significant date .... so please don't be too hard on yourself for being human. But in a way I do know how you feel. I completely missed a special anniversary of a date of death this year for someone very close to me and it did play on my mind for a while.

I was talking to a friend today and she had her antenatal appointments at the hossy, with similar experiences to what you describe as well as it coininciding with the show and there being no parking available whatsoever. Well done. I have been getting little things for bubs during this pregnancy, but yesterday DH and I collected the cot we'd bought 3 weeks ago and it had come in. Of course when we did I had a little cry, but at the same time I was really excited. And today, we with the help of the fur babies put up the bassinette. Although then half disassembled it so I could wash the parts that are washable. LOL. But these are huge steps for me. I wish I'd given myself permission to do some of the bigger stuff earlier, but to be honest, it didn't feel right any earlier.

It must be hard for you when those you are working so closely with experience the death of their baby... I don't know how you do it.... manage to help them whilst being back admist your own pain.

Laney - blah to m/s.... hope you are surviving. Must be hard with Grayson around needing attention. Not many sleeps til your next scan.... be sure to jump on quick and let us know..

AFM - the fur babies are reunited. One had some trouble adjusting - hissing, growling, chuffing and getting so anxious he made himself vomit ( lots of times), poor little mite. But with some patience and diligence the stress levels have settled and they all seem to be settling in. Not yet back to their old routines yet, but I think they are doing quite well. And the cat who has been away is very snuggly, but for now, that suits us both.

I must have been obviously affected the other day as I called my mum and she kept telling me I sounded upset and not my usual self. But, I came through and the darkness wasn't anywhere near as dark as I remember it.

AngelLuke'sMum - flagyl's an antibiotic right? Can you talk to your Dr about having a different one given the effect flagyl has had on you in the past? God news you've got a date for your stitch. I imagine that will give you a lot more peace of mind. 7 Sept is not that far away!

Dory, It still stops me in my tracks whenever I hear about someone losing a baby. My Dh's cousin just had to have a c-section at 26 weeks due to high blood pressure. Bub is fortunately doing very well after 3 weeks. He was only 1 pound 5 ounces when he was born. Hearing the news that he was born so early made me very emotional. :hug:
I hope your fur baby is back in a nice routine and getting very spoiled.

Kam, I too have trouble remembering due dates. I focus more on the days that we lost our babies. Big hugs

ButterflyForever, yay for buying baby stuff! I have started to buy a few things here and there. It feels good to buy it but scary. I am afraid to buy too much but when it is a great deal....

AngelLukesmum, flagyl is awful! I was on it for a few days while pregnant with Shelby. I was soooo sick from it. I hope it is a little bit more kind to you. Sounds lie you have a nice plan in place for the next few weeks. They sure are going to fly by.

AFM, Had my scan today and bub is looking good. He is up to 2 pounds now.
DH and I went shopping the other night and I bought a few little sleepers for bub. It felt good to finally buy something new for him.

Laney - awesome news about your scan! Furbabies are much more settled and snuggley with each other now.... one is curled up with me now as I type. It's so nice to have them all back. Glad you bought some things for this bubs.... good to give yourself that permission!

Just back from the physio about my pregnancy induced carpal tunnel - have some little exercies to do and no "braces" ( can't think of the other word for them) needed.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone! Nothing exciting to report from me which is a good thing I guess :) Made my booking appointment for my local private hospital yesterday (have to go in in a week and pay them $60 for the privilege!) and have my blood tests for the NT scan in 2 weeks. M/S still here but the nausea seems to be easing off a bit thankfully. I hate this waiting period between scans - keep thinking I'll get in there for my NT scan and bub will have died. Stupid thoughts... you girls know how it is!

Well done. I have been getting little things for bubs during this pregnancy, but yesterday DH and I collected the cot we'd bought 3 weeks ago and it had come in. Of course when we did I had a little cry, but at the same time I was really excited. And today, we with the help of the fur babies put up the bassinette. Although then half disassembled it so I could wash the parts that are washable. LOL. But these are huge steps for me. I wish I'd given myself permission to do some of the bigger stuff earlier, but to be honest, it didn't feel right any earlier.

It must be hard for you when those you are working so closely with experience the death of their baby... I don't know how you do it.... manage to help them whilst being back admist your own pain.

AFM - the fur babies are reunited. One had some trouble adjusting - hissing, growling, chuffing and getting so anxious he made himself vomit ( lots of times), poor little mite. But with some patience and diligence the stress levels have settled and they all seem to be settling in. Not yet back to their old routines yet, but I think they are doing quite well. And the cat who has been away is very snuggly, but for now, that suits us both.

I must have been obviously affected the other day as I called my mum and she kept telling me I sounded upset and not my usual self. But, I came through and the darkness wasn't anywhere near as dark as I remember it.

AngelLuke'sMum - flagyl's an antibiotic right? Can you talk to your Dr about having a different one given the effect flagyl has had on you in the past? God news you've got a date for your stitch. I imagine that will give you a lot more peace of mind. 7 Sept is not that far away!

Bp is fluctuating between 160/100 - 175/112 it goes pretty high

cindee, I can't believe how high your BP is already! I thought that it was supposed to drop a bit in early pregnancy? Mine drops to 100/60 and pretty much stays that way until the last couple of weeks. I hope your doctors can get it under control.

jlk, I still feel like I am dreaming when I look at Grayson. So happy for you.

AngelLukesmum, I know exactly what you mean about the wait between scans. My wait is only a week and it is still hard. Bub does wiggle a lot so it helps a bit.

baby Ricky is doing okay, lots of ups and downs. He has a couple of good days and then he will have a couple of not so good days. I feel like I am bothering them but I do check up on him every couple of days. I wish there was more that I could do to help them through such a tough time.

dory, I get carpal tunnel while pregnant as well. It never gets really bad for me, just a bit annoying.

Hi to everyone else!

Not much going on here. I am starting to struggle a bit to keep up with Grayson, shopping, house cleaning, and doctor visits. We are having a very hot and humid summer and it is not being very kind to me. I know that I can get through these next 3 months with a smile!!
DH and I might be moving my office this weekend to make room for bub. The office needs to be painted before we can start another baby room. It is exciting and scary to be thinking about a room already!

Hi Ladies, It has become a bit quiet in here again!
I had my 10th ultrasound yesterday and bub is still looking good. I am just now starting to relax a bit. I don't use the HB doppler much anymore. He kicks enough that I know he is okay.
We did start the process of moving the office. It is not going to be easy to find a new home for all of the junk that has accumulated in there. At least it is started! I am getting excited about painting and buying more little blue things finally.

Dory, I just saw your ticker! 35 Weeks!

Laney _ I have been thinking of you ever since Sunday,knowing you had your scan coming up. I have been pretty busy or distracted as my mum was visiting and I had a few things on that just tired me out..... hence my abscence.

So glad your scan went well AND you're thinking about and have started sorting out a new room for this little bubs... it does make a difference when bubs kicking and movements become more regular, takes some of the worry out.

Cindee - that BP is high.... hope you feel ok. Is it that range before pregnancy?

AFM - went to the Dr yesterday as I had a cluster of symptoms consistent with pre-eclampsia. My BP is slightly elevated so am having a protein test of my urine tomorrow with another check up. DH says my mum visiting is enough to give me the symptoms.... although I uncharacteristically had a headache and was cranky. Both very unusual for me. Bubs had also been a bit quieter and I think that might have contributed to my mood too. Sadly I now have cankles ( swollen ankles).... My Mum got to hear bubs heartbeat yesterday, but she didn't seem that excited. Maybe my expectation of her reaction was out? For me it's one of the best sounds ever....

Has anyone used an epino before? it's a balloon thing that some people use to stretch the perenium in preparation for labour. I am not sure it's worth the expense -about $200 AUD, but wold be interested to hear what you thought of it.
