I've been sick with a cold and sore throat too - panadol is safe and so is ventolin. Strange that some ladies think that nurofen isn't because a rheumatologist told me it is safe to take all through out pregnancy. I will have to check on this again but I find it hard to believe a specialist could be wrong.

Luckily no arthritis pain though! Im an asthmatic and never had problems taking Nurofen in the past. But then I'm not allergic to aspirin.

Antihisthamines (sucha as Dozine and phenergan) are fine to take too (category A drug) and would help with stuffy nose and Dozine helps you to sleep. Doctors told me this one!
