I'm surprised they are charging you for the 9 week scan? I thought public did that anyways. I have always wanted one because I don't opt for the 12 week NT scan. My sister in law had a positive test, thought she was pregnant but then at the 9 weeks scan found she had a blighted ovum. Pregnancy test isn't always completely accurate.

I have always done my scans privately though and Medicare does cover some. My ob does his own at 9 weeks though..

Also at the dating scan they can confirm dates. My dates always moved from the dating scan.

Plus I loved seeing that little person and the heart beating. Cemented it all for us otherwise it was just some marks on a stick lol!
