Unhappy Severe Morning Sickness - Vomitting up to 6 times a day - What should I do??

    Hi there All

I am writing in here very quickly - I am suffering from severe morning/noon and night sickness - I am vomitting constantly and am struggling to keep anything down.

I called the MotherSafe hotline here in Sydney and they have suggested taking Restavit with Vitamin B6 - just wondering if anyone has tried this - I started this yesterday out of sheer desperation - however I'm not a big fan of taking over the counter meds for this type of condition but having tried every other remedy under the sun I'm desperate.

I'd love to hear of any tried and tested remedies that you can suggest - as at the moment I'm not vomitting but I am zonked out of my brain all of the time (restavit is a sleeping tablet)

I didn't think it was possible to feel so miserable and sick whilst growing another human being

    TIA

Sorry to hear how sick you are, that's awful. My cousin is currently going through the exact same thing. She was on the maxalon, but it didnt' work for her, so unfortunatley it's just ginger tablets (I think blackmores do some) and also crystalised ginger, really good for nausea. I know that might not help, but it's worth a try. Anything ginger (ginger tea good too). Hope you feel well soon xoxo

    You poor thing!!

try to keep your fluids up and drink as much water as you can!! I found eating crackers helped me alot, saladas where all i ate for the first few weeks of my pregnancy much to hubby's disgust, he thought i should be eating alot more, but anything else i tried to eat just didnt stay in, so i figured crackers were better than nothing!!

Once the ms let up a little i started to get hungry alot and thats when i started eating the house out!!

Also any pregnancy vitamins will help too, i never got that bad i needed anything else, but if its bad i would give anything they say is safe a go!!

Oh and i had to LOL at your last comment... for the first few weeks (or even months) of pregnancy, ALL you feel is sick and miserable while your body is very busy making a little person!! But the good news is that it DOES get better!!!!

If you start to feel really bad or too dehydrated call your hospital and they will give you fluids if they think you need them, or some maxalon to ease the nausea.

Good luck and i hope you feel better soon!!

    You poor thing.

No that isn't the only thing that can help you. Go to a medical centre and get a shot in the behind of maxalon and then ask for a script. Make an appt to see your doc and tell them this isn't on.
If the maxolon doesn't work there is anoterh drug called ondansetron that is used for hyperemesis.

Thanks Ladies - I'll see how it pans out on this stuff - when I spoke with MotherSafe they suggested that I give this a go in the first instance and if it doesn't work they'll move me across to Maxolon.

On another note - if your'e suffering insomnia and have spare time to sleep I'd highly recommend the Restavit - just up from 3 hours of solid sleep after sleeping 12 last night.

Now just need to work on something to eat that doesn't make me gag - at this point Granny Smith apples are getting a run for their money along with lemon tea - water just tastes like pure poison.

Farout I remember with Baby no.1 thinking that morning sickness couldn't possibly get any worse than that - all of a sudden Baby No.1 is looking like the good big brother - oh well only 33weeks to go
