You can pay an extra $200ish dollars to have the FISH testing done when you have the CVS.....this will give initial results for the five main chromosomes in about 24 hours. That will lessen the waiting time for the down syndrome results at least...if the FISH testing comes back clear it is highly unlikely there will be anything wrong with the other chromosomes...make sure that they explain all this to you wen you see them hun.....
i have been there too, mine was what showed up in my blood test though, not the fold itself, so it was slightly different.
but i had good results too, perfect little girl.
big hugs to you at this difficult time. its a very hard thing to go through. i hope you get booked in asap
I am still waiting for the call, but not as desperate as before. After two sleepless nights, last night I actually had a good sleep although lots of dreams. I am still suffering from nausea. My husband went to work today. I will try my best to handle my emotions and worries.
I hope I could be strong. Not only for me but aslo for my baby. ~~~~~
I have just came back from CVS. The procedure went well and only lasted a few minutes. The nutual folder is still thick. The only thing I can do now is waiting for the fish result. I hope this time luck could be at my side and I will do anything to change for the health of my baby.

i'm glad the CVS procedure went well, (i had five days of really bad cramps after my amnio).
all fingers and toes crossed for you wongbaby, i hope you have stuff to keep you busy, it's maddening, you know thinking about it will make the time drag, but it's SO HARD to think of anything else.
I am now madly searching on the Internet hoping for some positive stories. But the more I read, the more scared I am. It seems a very little chance for a high measurement turned out to be normal. I wish I had normal measurement abnormal blood work instead I feel so helpless. ~~~~~

while you're waiting, as someone else said in a previous post "google is not your friend". You're only going to find stuff that will worry you more. Step away from the computer searching wongbaby.
my "therapy" whilst waiting that VERY long two weeks, was to search out baby furniture, concentrating on that, helped me thru. Other people said, you are mad, why buy a cot, when you don't even know if your baby will survive, until after the test? but it's what I had to do, to get thru the two weeks. I HAD to do something positive. (i hope you find something to do, that will help you get thru the wait.).
Hi wongbaby, I am thinking of you and hoping that all goes well. I agree that it is best to stay away from Google. The reason why google scares us is that usually the people who have to post things on the internet have had something significant happen to them ie. the ones where the result hasn't been the way they would have liked. The others tend to get onto the next thing in life. So it totally skews your picture of the actual risk. Try to keep yourself busy so the time passes. thinking of you.
