I think that rather than stressing or getting upset about the thoughtless things people say (as of course it's not good for baby!), maybe we should think about what it's like from a non-pregnant person's point of view?
We all know that creating a little human is a wonderful miracle, and I think people are naturally fascinated by a pregnant belly! I know I am - and that's because I know the joy of feeling that little "alien" growing inside me!
Yes, there are a lot of malicious people out there, but I'm sure that the majority are just trying to be "nice", in their own funny way - they're just not all that good at expressing it tactfully.
I was TINY with DD, although I started showing really early (as I have again this time), and many jokes have been made about my shape when pregnant, but I don't care - I actually think the jokes are funny, and I know they're not being nasty. In fact, I think it's amazing how two people can be the same number of weeks along, but look so different.
So why not just go along with it and enjoy all that extra attention you're getting?? It won't be long before bubs is going to take the limelight!!
