DD looks a lot like DP. But i don't think that theory is all that true. My older sister looks nothing like my dad but i look a lot like him.

My DS1 is the absolute spitting image of his Dad, I do not even get a look in Everyone says the same.
The two after are a different story

It's more about the first few days/weeks after birth.
One DD was identical to her dad at the start, but looks nothing like him now. She looks way more like MY dad! Same with the other DD and they have different dads.

DS - we all have no idea who he looks like, we often used to wonder who his mother was lol

I'm pale, DH has olive skin, and DD was born bearing the same (beautiful) olive as her dad. So we got it too "Oh she's identical to her dad". Now, looking at her, and soon after birth, although she has the olive skin, she is a split mix of the both of us that many people can see. Be prepared that if your bub does have olive skin, of your MIL's reaction even if she is identical looking to you!!

DD1 looked so much like DP I felt like I'd given birth to him, it was really quite freaky. Before she came out, I joked that I hoped she had his looks and my brains.

DD2 didn't really look like either of us. People now say she looks like me but I think it's just the hair colour.

I *think he does now...but earlier, not so much. He thankfully missed out on my broad nose, all the girls got it though. Actually I catch myself looking at the perfect nose I wish I got, and it makes him look all the more impish

DS1 looked and still looks far more like his daddy and one of his uncles (DH's brother), DS2 on the other hand was and is a dead ringer for me! Just a male version ... poor thing ; )

ds1 spitting image of his dad, there was a photo of fil and df srround 6 months to a year old, everyone thought it was df and ds1, never mind the fact it was a pic from the 80's! ds2 dosnt realy "look" like either of us, he has his dads nose but is blonde and untill about 2 years ago had blue eyes, im always being asked if he has the same dad as he is the only blonde. dd looks like df and ds, just alot more chubb!! (witch apparently she gets from me) untill we have a baby that comes out with bright red hair, i will continue to say they look like df. ( i had bright red hair untill arround 18 months when it went brown)
having said all that, everyone thinks they all look just like me and ds2 must look like df, untill they meet df then they realize the kids look like him! they definatly dont get them whopper eyelashes from me!

I dont think DS looked like either of us at birth/first few weeks. Depends on who you speak to now whether he looks like me or DH. I see DH more than me in DS, but DS pulls some faces and he looks like DH's father.

A friend of the family has a 2yo daughter, and she's the spitting image of her father's father! Makes me wonder how the mother can tell the father - to his face - that the little girl isn't his, when clearly there's a family resemblance. But lets not go there right now

DS1 is the spitting image of his father. We have a pic of my DH in our hall as a child, and EVERYONE thinks it is one of DS1.

My 2nd DS looked more like me although now he looks like his dad but with my skin and nose.
And DS 3 is a spitting image of DS1 so just like his dad but all 3 of my boys have my families wonky 2nd toe you could even see it on u/s the 2nd toe is bigger than the first by a good 1-2cm even my daughter i lost at 20 weeks to my new DH she had the toes aswell it was even mentioned in the autopsy report as an abnormality lol little did they know it is all through my family.
I wonder what this little miss due in march will look like?

Yes yes - EXACTLY that! It's all anyone can see - I helped make him and carried him for 9 months, but it feels like DH gets all the credit!

Both DDs look alike and like me as babies and even now they look like me. When you see pictures of them when they were young its hard even for me to tell which is which. (they have different dads so my genes are pretty strong LOL)
    DS is a mini DH.

Nope, DD is a spitting image of me (always has been my side of the family). The only look she has of DH's is a wonky shaped mouth when relaxed, and now his hazel eyes. She has many of his mannerisms, but looks nothing like him.

DS, well he is a mini DH in every way. I don't even get a look in. I don't even claim the blue eyes cause DD's changed when she was 2.
