My first pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. Since then I have had three healthy babies.

My Ob told me that the "1 in 3" statistic is a theoretical number. It includes pregnancies that miscarry when the mother doesn't even realise she was even pregnant. For example, if a mother was very early pregnant and miscarried at the same time she was due to have her period she would probably never know she had ever been pregnant. I think he said that of known pregnancies the miscarriage rate was about 1 in 5. So if you already know you are pregnant, your chance of miscarriage has already lowered

I'm also very, very fortunate to have had three pregnancies and no losses.

Three pg's no losses. I know I am lucky, many of my friends have suffered miscarriages.
