Just for future notice, DH read an article yesterday cautioning people against sushi as all the ingredients come from Japan and with the radiation contamination it may be very unsafe. Just something to think about!

I didn't eat sushi last pregnancy nor will I this one. Not worth the risk to me.
I would be suprised if the sushi stores used Japanese product for their sushi. I have sushi rice in the cupboard which is Australian, and the nori is made in China, so I really don't think the contamination is a risk (even if the Nori needs supplies from Japan, there is still a quality control that is required, so radiation and contaminated prodcuts would not be used)..

I ate sushi throughout both my pregnancies. We made it at home whenever I had a craving though, or asked for it to be made to order in a store.

I ate sushi the whole way through. If you read any of the warnings againt sushi it is because of the raw fish! Otherwise you wouldn't be allowed to eat rice etc either!

I just made sure it was made that day and was fresh, tuna avocado was my FAV and I ate heaps of it. In saying that, just like any other food, don't get it from somewhere that looks dodgy!

And as for everything being made in Japan, I am sure they make the rice other places and the fillings like tuna, chicken etc aren't made in Japan either!
