Alisia - the book basically works you through the mental addiction I guess. You realise that the physical addiction is quite minimal ( similar to hunger pangs really) and it makes you realise that you can beat the mental addiction and break the habits like lighting up in the car etc. You quit cold turkey and it also talks about not substituting one addiciton for others - like food etc. It also makes you realise that quitting is a fabulous positve thing, and you come to the end of the book thinking - yippppeeeee Im FREE!!!! It worked for me and a number of people I know! If you are interested check out the link I posted earlier - I never went to workshops so Im not sure what they involve, and maybe you could borrow the book from the local library? Although its great to have it on hand again if you ever feel tempted! I have to say even after 10 years of smoking once I quit I never needed the book again. My DH smokes so you would think it would be tough being around him but if anything it strengthens my resolve and I can't believe now that I ever smoked!
HtH! Sorry if I come across as preachy but I really think this is one of the best ways to quit cold turkey and at about $20 its a pretty good investment!!
