    Wearing tubigrip query

Those of you who have worn tubigrip during pg, how do you cope with it? I've been given some to wear this time around and I'm somehow supposed to last all day with it on.
I saw the physio sat morning and I was given the largest size that she had (she wasn't sure if it was too small) and I lasted about 2hrs with it on on sat. Sunday I lasted an hour and today I'm ready to take it off already <1 hr after putting it on.
It seems to roll up or down and dig into me. I'm constantly adjusting it particularly after and during sitting down - did not like the 15min drive to work this morning with the tubigrip moving
I go back to the physio tomorrow as she was ordering a support belt for me(they were out) BUT how do I survive with the tubigrip til then - seriously it'll be lucky to make it last til 9am at the rate I'm going.

I mostly wore mine for short stints too, it helped that it was midwinter in Canberra at the time. Do you feel like it's too tight? Maybe there are larger sizes but the physio just didn't have those? I'd give the physio a call and ask their advice going forward. I was offered a belt instead but that was even less comfy so I stuck it out with the tubigrip.

Physio was going to order in a larger size tubigrip as well - if there was such a size.

I do notice the difference when not wearing it after taking it off - feels more wobbly and loose. Might try ringing the physio later today - hasn't been too bad for the past 3/4hr so far

There must be a larger size because I'm enormous and the one I had fit me fine AND she had a larger size again.

The trick with pelvic laxity is not to let it get any worse if you possibly can. Xxx

I assume you are wearing the tubigrip for pelvic instability? I used SRP Pregnancy Shorts for my last pg, made a HUUUGE difference for me. I found the support belt useless, never tried tubigrip. The shorts are expensive, but worth every cent in my opinion!

So far it's mostly to support my under-belly. I'm hoping it's just a size too small tubigrip and/or the support belt works. Not sure I want to fork out for the support pants for only about 8 weeks or so. Had a bit of pain starting in the groin area as well in the past couple of weeks. I've been given some stretches to do as well and she wants me to do some hydrotherapy as well (which currently clashes with mtgs and lectures DH has to go to )
Didn't get to ringing the physio today - ran out of time; I'm seeing her tomorrow afternoon anyway so not panicking too much about it.

I've never worn the tubigrip during pregnancy, but I LOVE it after birth. I hate the feeling when all your organs are readjusting their position after birth, and that wobbly jelly feeling, so the tubigrip was great to help with that (although I was technically wearing it due to my SPD and sever abdominal muscle separation lol). I'm meant to be wearing a support belt during pregnancy (had it for both the last two as well) but I'm just finding it too hot to wear, and also I'm up and down so much with the two littlies that I would have to be taking it on and off a million times a day because I'm not meant to wear it sitting down. I really guess I have no one to blame for it all getting worse but myself seeing as I am not really doing much to help it :/

I wore the support belt and I think the trick is to position it correctly. I even wore it in bed as it was just agony without it. So basically 24 hours a day.

The tubigrip I wore after the birth.

i wore tubigrip during pregnancy, and yep it is a pain in the butt! lots of adjustment cos it moves, especially if it is not long enough (which happens as your bump gets bigger).

It does help though, so i would just wear it as much as possible but if i had had enough took it off for an hour or so. Had to remember to be more careful in the way i moved when i wasn't wearing it, cos more chance of hurting myself without the support.

You will be SO glad, when you get that support belt, they are wonderful. My physio (at the RAH) told me you could also buy the support belts at chemists, if you are going out of your mind with the tubigrip stuff.

i ended up wearing the support belt OVER my clothing, needed a layer of cotton between me and it.

I highly recommend the Solidea pregnancy/recovery range. They have helped me a huge amount after the birth of my little girl - separation and back pain. They feel really nice on. I don't know what material they use but I really like it because it is so breathable. I love that it is a high waist short too cause I wear it under my normal clothes to smooth out the not so desirable 'spare tyre'. they have a graduated compression rating which was a big tick for me. I bought mine from St Vincents Hospital chemist.

Saw the physio yesterday and got a larger size tubigrip. Worked out the best way for me to wear it was to have the bottom layer a bit higher than the top folded over layer - for some reason this seems to make it not roll as much for me.
Also got a support belt; chose not to wear it today as I had a double lesson with my yr 12s where I was proof reading work so sitting most of that 90min so would've needed to take it off for that time; going to try it tomorrow, wore the larger tubigrip instead - soooo much better than the size I was wearing - managed the whole day with it on.

So glad that worked better for you!

Interesting that the solidea name came up because some of the breast cancer ladies have been talking about their sleeves recently. Sounds like they have some clever designs
