Yep, get on to those boobs. If you PM Barb also, she may be able to recommend a good LC in your area. Attachment issues are usually fixable (and sore boobs suck!)
As for demand feeding, how often is he feeding all up? How many wet & dirty nappies? You want 4-5 wet disposables (or 6-8 cloth) plus at least a few poos per day. Bf babies will often poo every time you feed them early on, too. If he's getting at least 8 feeds (that would be bare minimum mind) and plenty of nappies, then it's probably fine to leave him longer overnight (enjoy!). Just keep an eye on that, as well as weight gains etc.

Sometimes books are useful, just remember that your baby is an individual and has his own unique needs, and your circumstances are unique also. Pick and choose.
