Hey guys

Just a quickie from me to wish Liam and Aric a very happy big boy birthday...ONE...WOWOWOWOW!!!

So wonderful to hear that all our little babies are growing so beautifully.

And re. the walking...Felix didn't walk until he was 14 months...and it was only yesterday that I found him 3/4 up a 7ft ladder!!!!

It's wonderful when they walk but enjoy the relative sanity of crawling!!!

Went to GP today to get our referral for fertility specialist again...ahhh!!!

In our playgroup, I think there is only 3 of us (out of about 10) who aren't pregnant or already have a 2nd. I certainly find it easier than when we didn't have Felix...but it's still hard....I still get that lump in my throat every time someone announces their pregnancy..

Anyway...so much for this being a quickie!

I am having a lot of trouble getting in here lately. Bigpond seems ot be off regularly and then I cant get into BB when it is on. Then I cant get into the threads or post anything. I give up a lot. I would like to post more than I have been able. I miss you guys then !!!!


I found out the "scare" in our mums group wasnt a scare, it was/is?? a pregancy. I am a bit down about it as the friend has just gone into hiding from her abusive partner for a couple of months. She is not responding to my sms messages. Hope she is ok. Dont know if she is still preg or not either. I know she doesnt want another baby with him. Ah it all sucks sometimes

People are driving me mad... they all ask if Celeste is walking and when I say not quite yet they imediately all say "That's ok, dont panic!" as if I am panicking. I'm not worried at all, I'm just sick of people asking me. Especially MIL/FIL who I have TOLD not to ask all the time, as I will TELL then when it happens Crazy inlaws LOL

Jo, hope things are ok for you and DH. We certainly have had our ups and downs too. It is horrible and I hope everything is hunkydorey for you soon. Thinking of you.

Celeste insists on feeding herself now. Even weetbix with stewed plums, even though she cant really use the spoon. Its an experience Must get her weighed soon. She seems to have grown heaps as everyone keeps saying which is nice.

Big hello to everyone. Party on the weekend went well...I pretty much stayed away from everyone LOL. I either came across as a total Nigel, or snob? Had a chat with one of DH's cousin's (pregnant first go) about TTC and baby related stuff, then came home.

DS's first easter this year. I got him a book with 7 Peter Rabbit stories. I think it will have to be put up nice and high until the desire to put everything in his mouth, has disappeared!

Good to hear from you Monnie - even if it was 3 times! Makes me laugh that they seem to have no 'self-preservation' alarm bells. Are boys worse?

I agree Sazz - I give up on BB lots at the moment. I only get about 15 mins, so if i read things and then I can't post, I just give up. DS is 12 months and people say the ame thing about him walking! And more often than not they say their kids weren't walking either...BUT...they still say, oh he'll be alright. Yes, he will be alright. Ah, some people have foot in mouth all the time.

Nic - It's DS's first easter too - he was born the day after easter last year. When does the 'all-things-go-in-the-mouth' phase end? We are still suffering from it. I'm sure that's why our latest bout of gastro just keeps lingering. I have washed everything, but it's not going away.

DH and i will be ok - it's about our lack of "intimacy" IYKWIM. Weird, most people couldn;t conceive a child without it - but we'll have just as much chance! LOL. Shouldn't laugh really

So...tracking my cycle now, if all things are 100% perfect, then we may even do a transfer this month. But i'm the eternal pessimist...
I'll let you all know of course.

I've not been on much either - it's either not working or DS needs me. ya'll know how it is.

Hope you gusy are doing ok Lenny. We've had similar issues. Being exhausted all the time doesn't really help things of course. I know DH gets frustrated but he tries so hard to be helpful and patient. I get so caught up in DS and getting things done and being tired that I forget sometimes just how nice it is to snuggle with my honey...It's good when we finally get a chance to do it ocasionally. It's really remarkable how many evenings we spend slumped in front of the tv instead of being together. I know that's part of the problem, but it's just seems too hard sometimes. And sex really becomes such a chore when you're ttc...not that we are now but I think that still taints things a bit.

Hope your friend's ok Sazz. Sounds really awful. The cleanup is always such fun after meals, hey? DS generally insists on feeding himself and then ever so helpfully 'cleans' his try (ie, sweeps/throws everything on the floor). sigh.

Lenny I love your little phrases under your name. This one makes me smile everytime I read it! I say something similar about C's conception. Neither one of us were there for it! Makes my mums group laugh.

I certainly agree with DTD going out of fashion after LTTTC. That is something extra that a lot of people just wouldnt imagine if they havent gone through it. Omg the number of cycles we waited till we got our bundle. Poor DH was feeling it a real chore. These days we are hardly in bed at the same time! DH goes at 8.30 and is zonked imediately as he works at 2.30am. I am not in bed till late (like 11 or later) as I like to read and it disturbs him. Then he comes home and hops in at 6.45 but Celeste gets up at 7 or 7.30. That is at least 4nights a week then the others we are just tired etc. You know the drill. LOL. Ah shouldnt laugh actually, as it is a bit of a problem. Neither of us are happy with it. I told him yesterday that we really need to "fix" that problem. Trouble is that we dont do any of the other nice cuddly stuff either, I guess in case one or the other thinks it is going somewhere. Aherm, anyhow, I didnt mean to divulge quite that much. Just was sympathising.

Marcellus, I agree about the mealtimes. Tonight C had a piece of cake (DH b/day yesterday) and when I stripped her for her bath I found cake in her nappy!!! It gets absolutely everywhere. I wipe the frige down and wonder how it got all the way over there. I am sure it is probably on top of the frige too!!! LOL Lucky our dogs come in and help clean the floor A bib is really not enough anymore. We need those disposable suits with the hoods hahaha.

I am getting very worried about my friend as she still hasnt answered my messages. I read inthe local paper a man his age was arrested for a domestic dispute on the weekend when "it all went down". COuld have been anyone as there are 4000people here but makes me wonder. Will have to check with more friends... I dont know where she was going. She said she was going to be local till her parents could get more of her and her boys stuff out then going further for a few months. Her sister lives interstate so I wondered if that will be where she goes. Stresssssss!

I took Celeste to kindergym for the whole school term and she hated it for the first 7weeks but loved it the last 3. Now its the holidays! It's so nice to see her gaining confidence on the equipment she previously shyed away from.

Big scary last 24 hours for us!

Felix ended up being raced to hospital in ambulance due to seizures. Thankfully, we are home now...but the scariest thing!

My parents were babysitting him...I get a call to say that he is in the ambulance heading to their local hospital...It takes us about 25 minutes to get there and I arrive to see our little boy, stripped down to his nappy with 8+ wires hanging off him, 2 drips, and a oxygen mask. He's not breathing properly or responding to either Matt or I. There's at least 4 doctors and 6 nurses around him.

His major seizure lasted nearly 20 minutes which was really concerning for the doctors as it took ages to stabilise him. He then had another seizure which resolved pretty quickly with some heavy duty medication.

They were treating him for menigitis, encephalitis and seizures and were talking about to a lumbar puncture.

After about 3 hours, we were transferred to the children's hospital. 5 hours following the first seizure, Felix starts to wake up and says "raf" (giraffe) and points to the mobile hanging above the bed next door. BEST WORD I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE!!! Our little boy was back!

Was transferred to his ward at 3:30am, had a blood test at 4am and finally got to sleep at 4:45am (to be woken by kids in next bed at 6am...though thankfully Felix still kept sleeping through to 7:30am)

So scary...and they suspect that it may have been in response to the flu vaccine that he had on Monday...though can't confirm that!

Anyway...he's okay now...home and asleep! We're heading down to our Easter holiday tomorrow with the Paediatrician's blessing!!!

Very very scary! Thank God for modern medicine and incredibly competent health practitioners!!!

How absolutely positively terrifying for you, Monnie! Glad to hear the little guy is ok now. Those flu shots scare me, but then I've been warned off them by my GP due to my shonky immune system - and that was even before I was started on immune suppressing drugs!

Sazz - MIL made a lovely little smock with sleeves and a long bib to cover most of the mess. And it ties up so he can't just pull it off. Hope you can get in touch with your friend soon.
