poppyfairy i hope that bub doesnt keep you waiting too long. Smithy Happy Birthday for yesterday. Hope you got spoilt!
grub thats wonderful that your adjusting really well to your little man, stinky nappies and all BOC its always wonderful to hear positive stories like that. Greenslw yay on the belly cast, shame about the pain. Hope that it is easing up for you. Saph the officialy countdown has begun. The date will be here before you know it. As for shopping for baby stuff, i cant wait till the date gets closer and i can start. So exciting. Sammie RIP lil Bob but as you said, lil Blue will be here soon so hand in there.
Not much to report on my end. Feeling really well which is great. Have been trying to find some Twins sights but havent had much luck. Have really accepted the idea and now cant wait to see my lil ones again in a couple of weeks. First Ob appointment on Tuesday. One problem though, my GP has been closed for two weeks now and has no notice advising when they will reopen so im worried they wont be open on Monday which means i wont have a referral to take with me on Tuesday. Will they still see my without a referral from the GP?
Paula - sorry but I dont think they can see you without a referral. It is something to do with Medicare I think. You cant claim it back or they have to charge you differently. I dont know but if you ring them they might be able to tell you or just get one from any GP it doesnt have to be the one you regularly see.
I had to get one even when I was seeing one of the doctors who works at the fertility clinic. Daft I know.

That friend of mine that had a baby girl yesterday, she has totally gone and given her daughter the same name we had chosen for a girl!
Granted it's spelt differently and a different middle name, and I never told her what we'd picked so it is PURELY coincidence but man I am soooo disappointed! I picked the name becasue it was rare and I didn't know ANYONE with it! I have loved this name for about 10 years and we decided on it the first week we found out I was pg!
I know it's not a huge deal, and I probably should be worried about more important things, but it's just a real shock. All this time safe and about 12 weeks off it's taken! Sooo frustrating! We'll still use the name but I just really HATE the thought that people will think we copied it!
Ok rant over... I just had to get that out... sorry
That's a bugger when that happens BOC. We had both a boys and a girls name picked out the first time we fell preggas six years ago... Ethan for a boy and georgia for a girl. With all the intervening years before we have finally got to this point, my niece has had a boy called Ethans and Geoffs BFF had a girl (his goddaughter no less) and called her Georgia.....grrr...so we had to go back to the drawing board for names.
Saph, it is good to have an end date. We saw our obstetrician on Wednesday after a growth scan on the Tuesday and we are officially breeding an elephant! The scan at just under 32 weeks estimates his size to be 2.4kg or about 5lbs 5ozs already, putting him above the 95th percentile. So much for the growth restriction we were told to expect because of the low papp-a we had at our nuchal scan...LOL.
Anyways after much discussion with our OB we have jointly decided it would be best for both me and the baby healthwise to have a scheduled C- section so barring any complications in the meantime baby C will be making his entrance via the sunroof early in the AM of Feb 12th...spot on 38 weeks.
If anything arises in the meantime of course he will be out earlier...it all hinges on how my type 1 Diabetes behaves itself over the nex few weeks and if my BP goes up etc etc...so far so good, so fingers crossed all goes well. But boy it does feel good to now that there is a precise end date to plan towards, at least now Hubby can plan his long service leave more precisely and give his work appropriate notice and all that jazz.
And it has made me pull my finger and work through the list of things to buy and prepare that much faster so everything is ready for his arrival. Onbly have a small handful of small items to get now..mainly lotions and potions and am having trouble deciding on a good organic brand to go with for all that stuff.
Yeah it's a bugger, especially since we were so careful not to tell anyone our choices! So the poor thing has no idea and I can't even yell or get mad at her! I think that's the most frustrating part would be much better if I could LOL
Saph my mum's a teacher but so many of my friends are but on contract meaning no holiday pay etc. raw deal but you scored well done. Belly braces are hot and feel weird but very helpful
Paula, not sure re referal but GP can always fax it to your OB. (mine almost did due to me loosing mine)
BOC that really sux, especially since you didn't even share your names
Melbel I love your term "sunroof" would be so great to know the day. I bet that's a load off.
Sammy that sounds nice.
ATM little restless, pain is less but mind is still on full bore. I had my hair done today which was nice and my friend is coming down from NT tomorrow to spend my birthday. but I still have so much "guilt" rattleing around in my head. I want a brain vacume!
