Yeh Monnie my MIL and all dh's side of the family are VERY excited about this baby. Its lovely to have people who are excited for us as my side don't show it anywhere near as much. I guess 1st bub on 1 side and bub # 12 for my side makes a bit of difference although that being said my mum is very happy (she just doesn't show it) like last night I was talking to her on the phone for almost an hour before she asked how my ob appointment went last Wednesday.Mind you I have spoken to her a couple of times inbetween aswell. She just never thinks to ask for some reason
My Nan however is very very excited and this is her 13th great grand child.

I hope you start to have a few more of those relaxing baths hun. They sure make me feel a whole lot better(especially when dh runs them for me). He has only started doing this since I've been pregnant which I love.

When is your next ob appointment? Is it this Friday?

Kimbe All the best for your U/S tomorrow sweety. I'm sure everything will be just perfect.

    Hey Ladies.

I am so jealous of you girls, going shopping and buying things for the very soon arrival of your babies.... and the spoiling that comes with it. MIL's they are great at times.....my MIL is just as wonderful, spoils all of us so much.... My parents on the other hand will have 2 grandchildren in the next year, 5 weeks apart. My sister is 14.5 weeks so yes there is a lot for my parents. We got engaged a few months apart, and we had our wedding a few months apart….And yes she is 4 years younger….just a ripening age of 21.

Well I am due to have my 12 week scan in 2 weeks, very exciting but also very nervous for any bad news. I will pray to God that my little one is in his safe hands.

Girls, I have a belly already, I know I a m bloated too but its pretty big for 10 weeks...I am not a large girl, but the belly is out of control. Does the curvature in your back affect how much you show. My back curves in a fair bit so I thought that might be the reason why.

Yep...my appointment is this coming Friday...7pm! So far the Ob. has been about 2 hours late each time...so I'm guessing that the appointment will be around 9pm!!!

Ltl Panda...that's wonderful about your scan in 2 weeks...you'll be totally amazed at the development that has happened recently...it's quite a miracle!!! It is scarey initially, but just remember as soon as you seen that little baby move, all is going well! And you'll be amazed to see how much they move and yet you can't feel it!!! Totally amazing!

I'm not sure about the back curvature and belly...my back curves in a fair bit too and I did seem to get a belly fairly early...I have found that I've gone through stages where the belly has really grown (out-of-control!) and then calmed down a bit...I think it also all depends where the baby is sitting, where the placenta is, etc...as I've heard people say they have carried very differently for each of their babies...

    Kimbe...all the best for tomorrow...

    Hi girls,
Well...had the 8 week internal U/S today and wow! I now can see i am pregnant (without having a belly)...little jelly bean is only the length of a finger nail they tell me, but has a healthy heart rate of 171 beats/min. The sonographer pointed out the tiny little limbs that are there, 2 arms and 2 legs (good sign i thought!!) and the "thing" that the baby is feeding off whilst the placenta develops. DH couldn't be with me and was so chuffed when i sms'd the info...then before i had walked in the door he was off the lounge with...no, not "hi babe how was your day?" but "show me the photo show me the photo" It was really nice. Photo is now prime position on the fridge. Not exactly sure when next U/S is but i'd go in once a week if they'd let me! I cant' believe how amazing i thought it was to see my ovaries and the follicles developing on the screen, but now its our son or daughter!
Anyway, just thought i'd let you know all was well and my fears have been settled for now. I think the next U/S is at about 16 weeks but i'm not sure, they weren't exactly clear at the hospital when i rang and the Fertility Centre told me today that i don't need to come back, just let them know when bub is born how everything went with the pregnancy, delivery etc..
Kotare...I was meant to have an earlier U/S like you, but they couldn't fit me in until today, even the Fert Centre were shocked that i was 8 weeks not the usual 7, but they got over it, i certainly didn't care! Have you got any of the m/s or other yucky symptoms yet?? Mine hit me properly at about 6.5 weeks - i think i jinx'd myself though, i had a party to go to and i really wasn't in the mood for all the driving and being surrounded by drinkers and possible smokers, so i told my girlfriend i was having m/s symptoms and wouldn't make it - 2 days later they hit for real! Bugger!
Monnie and Mako, the baths sound wonderful, and so very tempting! I'm gonna hold off but once this jelly bean has formed the placenta and passed the 1st trimester - bathtime here i come!
Anyway, dinner is cooking and i'm feeling ok enough to deal with the smells tonight, so should be helping!
    Happy healthy for you all!

Hey Kimbe...that's so wonderful! So thrilled that you saw you little 'jellybean'...

Our 7 week u/s picture still has pride of place on the fridge! Nothing like seeing that little beating heart...

Hope the m/s doesn't cause to many problems for you...

Odette Congratulations on your pregnancy and welcome to this great thread.I wish you all the very best for the next 9 months.

Kimbe YAY on a fantastic scan hun. It sure is a great feeling to see your little bub nice and happy in there. I have to admit that I still look at all my pics from my scans and get sooo excited. You can now try and relax a little now and I hope the m/s isn't too bad for you although it can be very reassuring for you too.

Monnie I hope your ob isn't running too late on Friday night for you hun. I always make my appointments for around 9 in the morning if I can of if for some reason I can't I always call them before I go so I don't have to sit and wait so long.

Well I went to work this arv and the kids were all good. It makes it so much more enjoyable when they behave themselves lol. I was talking to a couple of the mums there and they now know that I'm pregnant( they didn't know until now as I was always in the pool when they left and now I finish earlier they could see my belly). It sure is amazing what some people will tell you. One mum told me the full story of her IVF journey and all the details of the birth of her now 5 year old.

I'm looking forward to Thursday as dh comes home then. I'll be driving down to Sydney to pick him up and can't wait. I haven't spoken to him since last Tuesday. I bet he's having a great time and he probably hasn't even thought of me lol.

Big Hello to everyone. I hope you are all ok.

Yay Odette. Very happy for you. I'm peeking in here too, but i'm cautious at the same time.
I am very excited about becoming a fully fledged PALTTTC'er - i think i will feel this way more after my scan. I'm glad yours went well Kimbe. I only just realised it's an internal one. That's OK though - like you say - this time i'll be looking at my baby's heartbeat...not counting follies
I still feel like normal old boring me - no changes yet. That's OK - in some ways pg symptoms would make it feel more real, but i am grateful that i still feel really good.
I love reading your posts Monnie and Mako. I just know it's going to be me soon. Pretty soon i'll be bombarding you with questions, I'm sure!

Odette - A huge welcome to you, so happy that you are joining us!!!

Kimbe - Congrats on your scan going well, it is truely a miracle isn't it?

Monnie & Mako - Baby showers, hmm not really my thing either but a friend of mine has said she is organising one for me & because I know she really will organise everything I can just go along & enjoy so I am getting excited about it.
It wont be until I finish work though so a couple of months away.
I have never actually been to one, has anyone else?

Well our little girl is kicking so much now, I have a cute little story about when we were in bed the other night.
I had my legs tucked up & dh had hand on tummy to feel her kick & when she started she just didn't stop, she was really going nuts.
Anyway dh in the most serious voice said 'I don't think she likes that position very much!'
I was like but I'm comfy.
Anyway a few more seconds passed with a few more kicks & then he said 'no I really think you're going to have to move!'
So I had to move, so already I think she's daddy's little girl & my ranking as number 1 priority has gone way down.
I really do think it's cute though.

Jo...that is very cute...I find the same thing...get in a comfy position and then Ziggy "suggests I move!"

Yeah...I've been to a few baby showers...I must admit, they were a little tough for me, mainly as we were LTTTC at the time...but they do look like they can be fun...and lots of presents too!!!

I'm finding it hard to figure out if Ziggy is moving or if I'm getting BH now...it's really tight in there now...so I feel these real tightenings but not sure what they are! Very exciting though!

Can't wait for your scan Kotare...know what you mean about the scans...after so many scans that were searching for 'fibroids', it's so nice having scans that are showing us our baby!

Oh...and I finished packing my bag today...well my hospital bag (suitcase!!!)...still not sure whether I will need a labour bag...but am starting to think about it...bought some stress balls for labour the other day...based upon that book I'm reading (birthskills)

Hope everyone else is doing fantastically...

Congratulations on the wonderful 8 week scan Kimbe. My pic is with me all the time. I keep it in my diary to take a glimpse once in a while.

Odette, congratulations and welcome. Wishing you a wonderful pregnancy.

Kotare, I too love reading posts from Mako and Monnie, and yes, soon we too will be getting all sort of questions.....all part of growing a bigger belly.

DJTTC, maybe she will be in to soccer or dance.....she does not sound lazy to me....good luck trying to keep her still when she is growing up.

Monnnie, not long now, very exciting. You have your bag all packed and ready to go... woh ho.

Monnie YAY on finishing your bag hun. I think from what you've described, you are definatley having BH. Have you organised someone to do your birth announcement???? I know I suggest getting your bags packed and now I'm talking B/A's. But time is moving along and we really don't want to be left here wondering lol

Jo I know what you mean about lots of movements now. My little boy is just on the go all the time lol. I have to admit that I do love it though That is so sweet of your dh making you move so your little girl is comfy lol.
Its lovely of your friend wanting to organise your baby shower. I so did not want one(and really still don't) but am going along with it for everyone else. I'm sure I'll have a good time though. I wrote out my guest list last night and it soon got up to 35 people lol. I'm sure a few won't be able to make it though, but really it will be nice to catch up with everyone.

Panda and Kotare Feel free to ask any questions you have along the way. That's what this place is all about. I'd be lost if I didn't have bb to come to and ask my q's.

Hi to Sazz, Sammi, Odette, Keen and anyone else I have missed. I hope you are all doing ok.

Well I'm excited now as I just spoke to dh for the 1st time since Tuesday last week. I can't wait to see him tomorrow. He told me he had a good holiday but was looking forward to coming home. He also told me that he bought me all these body butters and moisturisers and lotions and stuff from Fiji. I think I'll be putting these to good use as my skin is soooooo dry these days.

Yay Mako...DH home tomorrow!!! That must feel great! Ohhh...the body butters sound fantastic!!! I've gone through so many tubs of Body Shop's body butter already this pregnancy...

Yeah...Sez (sezjm) is doing my B/A...so DH will sms her when it all happens and she'll post it...I can't believe we are talking b/a's either...very surreal!!!

    Hope you are doing wonderfully...

Odette - congrat's on the BFP, you must be so happy. Welcome!!

Monnie - Am impressed with the whole bag packing enterprise...though slightly perplexed - what is a labour bag??????? Don't I just take clothes & personals for jelly bean and I and the hospital does the rest? That's pretty cool but, that you're so very close now.

Mako - you sound so fantastic. That DH has been away and now he's on his way back. My DH wont be planning any trips away, work or holidays if i have anything to do with it! I'm gonna need him, i mean, there's going to be baths to run, meals to prepare, washing to do hehehehe poor DH, he does it all already. I'm glad your man's home to you and ziggy, he sounds ultra sensitive bringing the body butters

Ltl Panda - it's kinda nice that you're a few weeks ahead of me cause you'll do things, then ease my fears when i go for them 2-3weeks later! i.e. Sounds like your 12 week scans a little nerve racking. I saw my GP for the first time today since finishing with FC and he gave me referrals for it. No matter what, me and jelly bean are together, but if there's any genetic prob's, i'd like to be prepared and do some in advance reading iygwim.

Kotare - feeling like 'boring old you' is a good thing. From what others have said my m/s is only very mild but I don't wish it on anyone. It effects meal times, cooking ability (smells, yuck!) and lots of other general things it's frustrating. I am accustomed now though to not go anywhere without my tupperware container of salada biscuits and each night when i go to bed, a pre-opened fruit cup with spoon and the biscuits come with me. I've even become accustomed to sitting in bed, in the darkness of 3am and eating/slurping the fruit cup so i can get back to sleep (which is really quite funny, particularly the 1st time DH woke up and could hear me slurping away, he wasn't sure what i was doing, though at that stage, i wasn't quite sure either!)

DJTTC - love your story of your little girl and DH, that's one to write down for her 21st i say, just so she remembers she was Daddy's ltl girl even before she entered the world. Sounds like your pregnancy is going well for you - how many weeks are you??

Kimbe...a labour bag is all of those little things you want to take in with you to the labour room...

    Things like:

snacks, energy drinks, heat packs, electric oil burner, aromatherapy oils, bathers, camera, etc.

I'm sure it's not essential...but saves taking a whole suitcase with you into the labour room...

You poor thing with the morning sickness and fruit cups!!!

Maybe I should have some fruit cups next to the bed for sustenance for all my nightly toilet visits!!! I'm now averaging 3-4 visits a night...like I've heard...it gets you ready for the baby!!!

Oh no! That's too many. How do you sleep?
I've gone from no toilets trips (I hate the cold, so learnt to hang on!) to having one during the night. I swear it's psychological though. I don't think i need it really. I just think my body is making up pg symptoms!

Monnie I'm glad you've arranged for Sez to do your BA. Atleast we won't be left wondering lol.

Well DH came home safe and sound today. He had a great time on his fishing trip which is good. This trip has been in the making for the last 18 months or so, so we knew that there would be a posibility that I'd be pregnant at the time which was ok by both of us as long as I wasn't due to give birth anytime around the date. So now all we have to do is get the room ready for bub(that will be a mission)

I have to say the body butters are great. I also got a bottle of perfume too(very spoiled I am)

Anyway I'd better go and help dh unpack and then its off to bed for me as it has been a busy day.

I'll pop back soon and catch up on personals. Take care.
